There is no comic 404, so you're actually at 465/466.

Code: Select all

_=0,w=-1,(*t)(int,int);a()??<char*p="[gd\
~/d~/\\b\x7F\177l*~/~djal{x}h!\005h";(++w
<033)?(putchar((*t)(w??(p:>,w?_:0XD)),a()
):0;%>O(x,l)??<_='['/7;{return!(x%(_-11))
?x??'l:x^(1+ ++l);}??>main(){t=&O;w=a();}

It can't be too hard to write a script for it.

yea, there are programs that you can use to record a specific motion, i could've done that but i'm just terribly bored and was too lazy to find the program.

It could be simpler than that, even. I'm not a coder, but it'd just be like

i=1
From i=1 to i = 50:
{
Download http://xkcd.com/c###.png
i++
}

Or some such thing. I realize there's not a "download" command, but surely someone gets my drift.

Unfortunately the images aren't named that simply, so a loop won't work*.

On the plus side, the directory where the images are is showing an index page, so try this:

Code: Select all

wget -rl 1 -np -nd http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/

If you're on windows you'll have to find a copy of wget. Then, go Start, run, type cmd, type cd c:\wherever\you\put\wget.exe, and type the above command.

You'll be missing the alt texts. Does someone have a script that both downloads the comics and saves the alt texts to (a) text file(s)?
