Yes, good luck to me, finding another Asian female at my school

I took great pleasure in teasing and corrupting the freshmen. Ahh, college...good times...

Dude...that's awesome...
This raises a question. As we develop more and more technology that resembles its Sci-Fi equivelent, would it be totally gauche to start building housings for the technologies that resemble their film equivelents?
For example, if that chemical analysis device could be made smaller, putting it in a housing that actually *looks* like a star trek tricorder?
I think that would be pretty damn cool.

Oh come come, I never did anything that bad. Just small things, like body shots and the like. But don't worry, I'm past those days now. And I'm not around college freshmen anyway.

Well the guy who invented the cell phone got the idea from watching Star Trek, seeing them communicate wirelessly and going, "ya..ya we need that". So I think the real question is where does this natural progression lead us, what will be the next Star Trek tech to be invented IRL? Here's hoping for replicators... I mean cooking my own food sucks.
Geordi's Eye Wear: check (kinda, I mean it allowed him to "see" many more parts of the electomagnetic spectrum than simple human eyes)
Communicators: check
Tricorder: check (though I do wish they'd build a housing for it similar to the TNG tv model)
