i have the photic sneeze thing too. but only really when i go outside into bright sunlight.

i have a bad habit of picking my lips/nails.

i don't go out much (at all, really) since i prefer being on my own than with other people.

i can crack all my knuckles in both directions, including thumbs.

I am an excellent whistler.

The most common word/phrase used to describe me by people I know is "cute". The second most common is "childlike sense of wonder about the world." Seriously, I get them all the time.

(I'm actually a little tired of being called cute)

I am way more shy (in person) than most people seem to understand.

My bellybutton is an innie-outie (but I think I already mentioned that on this forum).

Sometimes it takes a few minutes for me to relize that no, that isn't what happened at all, I haven't spoken to that person in weeks, I have not already been to the dentist, I did not ace that test and I wasn't about to ask that beautiful girl out and she did not say no... Occasionally it has even affected my life; I'll wonder why this guy is discussing this and this with me when we already went through it before... oh right, that was a dream.

Oh yeah, me too. It is terribly confusing.

When I sing and whistle simultaneously I can't seem to control the pitch of the two independently. This has got to be a mental block somewhere, and it's a really frustrating one.

And me too. My proudest drinking moment was outdrinking my alcholic ex-boyfriend. At least, I think it was my proudest moment. I don't remember it at all, except to know that it happened.

Anyway! We have some stuff in common here, Fluff! I am glad this thread was made. :P

I sub-consiously plan the best plan of escape/retaliation against any possible zombie attack no matter where I am... it can get rather annoying after a while.

I hang out with some people whom I despise but they do provide some service for me (like how one of my "friends" is my ride to the movie theater, and my ticket buyer for R movies)

Frankly, I've never understood this aversion to "cute". It's as if someone says, "oh, that was nice", and you get offended that they didn't call you a hero or something.

"Sweet" is another matter... it has a secondary meaning not found in dictionaries.

Ok, in my old office, there was a lady who was probably in her 50s or so. One day, after I've shown her the amazingly healthy lunch I was eating (tofu, soy nuts, bell peppers, etc) as I was participating in a weight training program, I overheard her talking to another person in our office. She was saying about how great it was that I was being so healthy, etc. And then she said "Yes, she's such a cute little girl."

That's what bugs me - the condescension that frequently accompanies it (not always, I admit).

LOL! I understand that. I do use cute in a derogatory way every now and then (previous example didn't quite count--that was more satire).

this girl asked me what i thought of her haircut.. i said it looked stupid.. and then i said i was kidding and that it looked very cute.. and that i would rape her if i had a mind to...

this is the same girl i dated/broke up with/etc THAT EVERYONE HEARS SO MUCH ABOUT... yeah, she was pretty great... TILL SHE SUCKED

edit: i said that to her BEFORE i dated her

the same thing with another girl i dated for a bit that i really didnt like at all.. i called her a slutcake and suddenly she's all over me... she brought me sandwiches for lunch though T_T...

I've been called cute and then pat on the head by the same person. It's horribly frustrating.

Just because I'm short doesn't mean I'm "cute" and just because I'm short doesn't mean you can pat me on the head!

Not when they pat your head condescendingly. :(

Or when they're using it to placate you after having called you short and / or Asian (with negative connotations to both).
