How many animals did you eat this Christmas?

Postby Pez Dispens3r » Thu Dec 25, 2008 11:01 am UTC

I did 5:

Pig, prawn, oyster, turkey, and salmon.

I would list the flora but it would be a considerably longer list.

Turkey, pig and prawns.

Cheesecake isn't an animal, is it?

I fixed it for you. If you must know, it was probably a large white. EDIT: Or maybe a landrace.

EDIT EDIT: After some ninja google fu, it was most definitely a landrace.

cheese is a type of meat... a tasty yellow beef.

But actually, no.

And ham isn't an animal. Just a salted, smoked part of an animal that dissolves in your mouth in a subtle disintegration of slightly sweet flavour.

Looks like it will be just the turkey here, pretty poor form from me this year.

No ham? I'm outraged. At least here in sweden (the home of the semi-bad weather (not suber bad, that would be too cool, just semi-bad) Ham is the most important thing. Besides, I thought that turkey was for thanksgiving?

What? did you by chance eat a REAL LIVE JEW? or do you equal a tuna to a jew? Isn't that antisemitic?
If we get back to serious discussion, what are the jewish traditions, food-wise?

Anyway, pig (bacon), more pig (small sausages that said bacon is wrapped around), turkey, yet more pig (pork stuffing).

My parents and younger brother don't eat beef, and people are fussy about fish.

There was some beef in the I-can't-remember-what-the-hell-it's-called-but-ends-with-something-like-cotti yesterday, and I had bacon and turkey today. I think that's it. And the amount of both combined doesn't even add up to one whole turkey (assuming we replaced the beef and bacon with more turkey), so do I answer three or less than one? :P
two
I did eat a ton of plants though, and a bunch of pretzels and other such snack foods.

This also needs to be a multiple choice poll, and for once otter/duck can make sense as a poll option! Well, maybe not otter...

The turducken was delicious this year.
First surprise: It didn't do any of the regular shrinking that you get with cooking.
Second surprise: It is about 10x more filling than turkey itself.

The only problem was the debate over which gravy to use, before just using chicken because it was easiest to get ahold of.

Three. Turkey, pig, and goat.

Curry* goat just might be my favorite form of meat. Or maybe oxtail. Then again, the standard ones are pretty good too...

INDECISION!

Pig (bacon), shrimp, pig (sausage), pig (ham), beef (roast), turkey, beef (meatballs).
So 4, and thinking around that seems about average for Christmas. Although I think I topped it last year. Christmas brunch in Holland @ a fancy hotel. Lots of animals. Tasty, tasty animals.

Just whatever the sausage on top of the pizza was made out of...hopefully a pig. Our big 'family dinner' has always been on Christmas Eve though, so let's go with that.

Shrimp, cow, lobster.
