What podcasts/netcasts does everyone listen to?

My List:
-Benheck.com
-WireTap with Johnathan Goldstein
-The Command Line Podcast
-Downloadable Content, The Penny Arcade Podcast
-D&D Podcast (for the PA/PvP/Wil Wheaton D&D game)
-GAMERadio
-KCRW's Left, Right & Center
-NPR: All Songs Considered
-Phone Losers of America
-Security Now!
-Skeptoid
-Strong Bad Email
-Tekzilla (weekly)
-This American Life
-tWiT
-2600

I just realized by typing all those out I have a shit-ton of them.

Also, I was thinking about trying to start a podcast. The idea is a sort of variety show with listener content. Think Prairie Home Companion meets This American Life meets WireTap, but only half an hour long.

Is this cool y/n?

That's quite a list.

I only listen to about 3 regularly.

-Vegan Freak Radio
-Astronomy Cast
-Skeptic's Guide to the Universe

Is this cool y/n?

-This American Life
-Radio Lab
-The Moth
-The Prophet of Panamindorah (it's an audiobook in podcast form that's now completed.)

That would be a y. Shorter podcasts are awesome because you can complete an episode without having to set aside a huge chunk of time in order to keep the flow of it, and the combination sounds interesting as well. :)

I would highly recommend Wired: Game Life and the Rhett and Linkast. Marzipan taco used to kick ass but they stopped posting.

Ah, Radio Lab. I've heard the show a couple time on the local NPR station. I should listen to that. But I'm a good month behind on some shows.

Also, I usually listen at work or while doing schoolwork, just as background noise.

I listen to distorted view and this american life sometimes, but mostly I find podcasts boring. I don't like listening to people talk.
Day after day, day after day,
We stuck, nor breath nor motion;
As idle as a painted ship
Upon a painted ocean.

Geeknights (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays)
Dave & Joel's Fast Karate For The Gentleman
Daizenshuu EX - The Podcast
NPR: Car Talk
NPR: Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!

My mom is a fan of Geeknights, Dave & Joel, and my NPR selection, thanks to the iPod FM transmitter for our car.

- PCGamer podcast
- Wait, Wait. . .Don't Tell Me! Podcast
- The Rachel Maddow Show (video podcast)

I really like all of them, but I need to expand a bit so I always have something for the gym. (I just recently started watching the Rachel Maddow one, and I don't know if the angle I have to look at to look at the screen while on the treadmill is something I'll be able to maintain over regular workout sessions.)

Also, to both podcast ideas posited in the thread (both the OP's and the Dr. Stupendous one): Is this awesome, y/n?> Y

- WoWRadio (http://www.wcradio.com/): round-the-week schedule of World of Warcraft/gaming themed talk shows of various styles. I tend to listen to the live streams rather than podcast downloads.
- BigRedKitty (http://www.bigredkitty.net/): A premier blogger on the hunter class in WoW who vents his politically incorrect spleen in (mostly) weekly podcasts, that he's been doing for the past few months now.

I got put off podcasts ever since both yu-gi-oh abridged and ask a ninja started re-issuing old episodes. So much hassle to check whether I have them already and inevitabley delete them. Hate hate hate.

PCGamer UK or US?

I'm a regular PCGUK listener (and reader). I'll have to check out the US version.

Also, Stephen Fry's Podgrams and John Cleese's Podcasts, though both are very irregular.

Mainly I just get talking books.

Pretty much only the Savage Lovecast.
Although I've been meaning to subscribe to the SPLC (Student Press Law Center) one, it's monthly. I think I've heard most of the recent ones though.

Okay, so I did some thinking, and I'll at least make a pilot episode or two if people are interested. I just need a name. :?
I can host this on a wordpress or something, right?

So, PM if you have some audio you'd like to contribute to a pilot. It'll come out as soon as I get named and about 25 minutes of actual content found.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you on this; I'm home for Spring break and I haven't really been on the forums much.

It's the PCGamer US podcast. It's actually very good. I'll also in turn need to check out the UK podcast sometime. :)
