The fora so far seem to be lacking a general celebratory thread. So here's some space to remember that there's some good stuff out there to be happy or mildly less discontent about.
Like trees. Have you looked at a tree lately? They're all around pretty friggin' sweet. The whole converting CO2 into Oxygen, that's a good deal. Plus they have leave, or needles that are mostly green and sway in the wind. Then the branches have those nifty fractal patterns.
Or swimming. I went over to the pool today, and for about half an hour just sort of floated on my back, and that just felt seriously awesome. I need to do that more often.
The end is not for awhile, and all that.

Yeah, trees are most definitely awesome.
Also, chocolate chip cookies! Especially when they're still warm and soft in the middle and slightly crunchy and generally full of deliciousness...om nom nom.

I'd like to point out that chocolate chip cookies reaches an even higher state of awesome if consumed with whipped cream.

Here's to being comfortably warm when it's ridiculously cold outside, preferably with some of those aforementioned warm cookies.

Running water, man, you just have to turn a knob, and you get water that you can drink. Even if it doesn't taste that great, like in Phoenix, it's still right there for what ever you need water for. That's kind of amazing.

I say we give an award to whoever came up with the concept of the whoopie pie.
For those of you who have never heard of whoopie pies, I suggest you look into them. However, be careful on where you get them from, some are far better than others.

It seems that I have a good relationship with my local Honda dealer. I'm looking at trading my old bike for a new one, and according to the quote, I'm not going to lose a cent of the original buying price!
I paid $5500 in March when I bought it new, I've put 1200km on the clock, and I'm going to get $5500 credit for it in the trade-in. <3

Coffee shops. The smell is like an orgy for the nose. Wait, it is an orgy for the nose. Unless the frappé they give you is made with instant coffee instead of espresso like you told them because they can't listen to anything, now can...oh, right. Not the rant thread.

You know what's amazing? Hot showers are amazing.
Hot showers can make you more awake and more relaxed at the same time, which is great if you've just pulled an all-nighter for study or fun purposes and need to be awake the next day. And they make you feel all clean and soft, and you can get out and straight away curl up in an enormous fluffy towel. And you can listen to the radio in the shower, and sing along, and because of the acoustics in most tiled rooms, even if you have a cold or a sore throat (or just not a very good voice even) you will sound pleasing to the ear. Oh, and speaking of colds, hot showers are great for clearing a blocked nose or loosening up a cough. Plus, there's the wonderful scent of shampoo and conditioner.
In summary: a hot shower pretty much saved my life today.

Dogs are awesome. Big bouncy hairy slobbery beasts who are always happy to see you, and would sell their souls for a biscuit or a piece of chicken. They'll pull you up steep hills if you have them on a lead, they'll charge full speed into a nest of pheasants, resulting in many panicked cluckings, they'll skid comically on ice, and dash away at full speed when you let them off the lead in the woods. Conclusion: dogs are awesome.
By the way, the rant threa is 220 pages long, so we have a bitof catching up to do if we actually want to balance it.

Well, I suggested the Happy Thread (now MOTHEREFFIN HAPPY Thread) as another way to balance the Rant Thread, and that's at 10 pages, so we only need 210 more, the way I see it!
Also, books are awesome.

Sunday roast dinners are awesome, especially when you're so full of delicious food you can't move afterwards, except maybe to get up for dessert
Pet rats are awesome, especially when they get overexcited and bounce around the place, or try and see what's inside your ears.

I don't know if it's my favorite anime, but it's definitely the awesomest anime. That is absolutely the best word to describe it.

I loved my pet rats, they always used to scurry around inside my sleeves or sit in the pouch at the front of a hoodie. I miss them

Aw, little ratties are such sweet pets. They're so cute when they curl up to sleep, or sit on your shoulder. Their little paws are neat, and they can hold stuff with them.

DayQuil. DayQuil is awesome. It is beating the symptoms of whatever it is I came down with into submission, without making me all drowsy. And that makes me happy.
