My street's waste disposal operatives (or whatever the official name is for bin men is now) are awesome. I'd been having a clear out this week and put out 11 boxes of stuff for recycling. Not only did they take it all, they even left the boxes stacked up neatly outside my house. It was one of those moments when you realise the world has the potential to surprise you with something nice.
Please note that despite the lovely avatar Sungura gave me, I am not a medical doctor.

Possibly my proudest moment on the fora.

Awesome: I have a bicycle! Whee! £350 for the bike, helmet, nice hefty lock, mudguards and a multitool.

Already taken it out for a quick spin (about 15 miles), and it's brilliant. I loathe the uphill bits, but the reward of the downhill bits more than makes up for it. :P

And this being Bristol, there are a LOT of steep hills.

We ( The Dutch ) grow up riding bikes and I always love it when people from other countries get all happy because of bikes. Congratulations, sir.

Okay, thanks to my enthusiasm yesterday about my new bike, I am aching all over. I'm not sure if it's awesome or not. Is there such a thing as "pain that feels good" or am I just a masochist? Either way, I took it out again for another spin. Awesome.

Additional awesome. I have strawberries. I love strawberries.

I have a mini job interview thing! Which is fairly awesome I think. First response I've received from any graduate position I've applied for. Its just about a 20-30 minute phone interview on Tuesday and after that I find out if I get a proper face-to-face interview but still, it means I got through the online application stage so wheeeee!

Tonight we might get a thunderstorm. I love thunderstorms, especially at night. My house has a view overlooking the valley, and it's a great place to watch thunderstorms. Also, they make me sleep very well since I feel all warm and safe while the wind is blowing outside.

Seeing the boyfriend in a few days, for almost a week. I've only seen him once this summer and after practically living together all school year, it's been hard. I'm so excited to see him!

My new cat likes me more than anyone else in the house. I feel kind of selfish and shallow for how happy that makes me, but all four of my other pets like my mom most. And she is just so adorable she makes everyone happy, but she's so shy around anyone except me.

Yay for this thread, because it makes me optimistic!

Yay! Cars are so much better when you can voluntarily choose the direction in which you want them to head.

Also: I got through to the next round of interviews! Its next week and it'll be a 45 minute phone interview. I'm only a little nervous.

My new laptop arrived, and it runs extremely fast. It has 8 GB of ram, discrete graphics, bluray, and an i7 quad core CPU. Compared to my old laptop witch had major issues, it is awesome!

So, last night, I opened the door and accidentally let this weird big flying bug in. About the size of a small cockroach. And if flies. But then I watched my friend Catherine chase it around, knock it down, and toy with it on the floor for a while. Then it escaped her grasp and flew around again, only to fall in mid-flight and land on the kitchen table (ew).

MAH KITTEH SAVE MEH!! ...from having to chase the bug around. And entertained me in the process.

I WUBS U LUNA!!!

In the last four days, I've done roughly 24 hours of driving combined. Managed to drive through or visit practically every state in the American South. Let's see...Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas. Yup, America has hella interstates.

So tonight my folks come home and tell me that they were in the ER visiting my sister who may have had a cardiac. I freak out, get angry with my parents for not telling me a damn thing, and fly out the door to the hospital. I run into the ER and I see her sitting in bed looking o.k. and I can take a breather. She is still waiting for some test results but is in good spirits. This may not have been a cardiac event (Her ECG was normal and it may have been a pulled muscle). Not that this event was in anyway awesome, but I'm just so glad she's alright and that I was able to see her with my own two eyes.

A few weeks ago I did one of my worst exams ever. There was a very real possibility that I would fail the subject. Today I learnt I got a HD (82%)! That must have been one hell of an excellent assignment to offset the exam marks. Mostly I'm just relieved I don't have to repeat, but it still feels very nice to have an HD :)
