I have toesocks, but they don't really reduce the odor. I just wash my feet more now and throw the shoes in the wash every few days or so.

hngnanggh I love band practice. I LOVE it. Jesus fucking Christ even though sometimes I hate hate hate recording stuff and I get really burned out, I love actually playing things and then hearing them and going "...oh fuck we did that. Oh, cool."
Cause (and I dunno if other bands have this policy; if they don't, they should) the main thing we said was "So, if we don't like something... we're not gonna do it. We need to sound like a band we'd love to listen to."
WHICH IS COOL.
And we're gonna release a lil' self-produced album this summer which is double-cool. Cold, even.
uhhhh fuck.

My friend was just bitching about recording an EP at a local studio for his band. He's of the same mind as you, he wants to listen to what he records and be all, "wow that sounds really damn good, cool". He was not getting these results on the first try, and was becoming frustrated. It was funny to watch his tears.

I just found this and thought it was awesome.
“How MGDMT is gonna save my friend’s life”

“Well, sort of. I just had a story to tell that you might appreciate, and it concerns your comic in a semi-big way :)

A friend of mine is heading to basic training in a couple days and to Afghanistan soon after that. Since he’s been a long time manly guys fan, me friends and I knew we had to get him a gift that was both practical, manly, and bad ass.

So we pooled our money to buy him a ka-bar combat knife (dangerous, practical, and manly, yeah?) but it wasn’t quite good enough for him yet. So we went to a specialty engraver and had him etch ‘strength +1′ onto the knife’s side. Since it was then a magical weapon we knew it could deal damage to ghosts, so he would be extra safe. But that was still not enough.

So we wrote him a DnD character sheet and drew a picture for an epic level fighter who was 12 stories tall made of radiation, and wrapped the knife up in it to help imbue it with more awesome. It still wasn’t strong enough though, and we felt deeply concerned about the state of things.

Finally one of our party had a lightbulb moment and printed out large colour copies of the DnD page of Manly Guys, and we wrapped the entire gift in Manly Guys Doing Manly Things wrapping paper and lo, it was complete.

I know it might not sound like that big of a deal, but it was awesome to hear him laugh when he saw the wrapping paper, and I think it lent a punch of manliness to the gift as a whole. Not sure if you’d care, but it made me smile so I hope it makes you smile a bit too.

Thanks for your awesome comic. You’re inspiring real manly men every day with your badass humor.

-GH”

Possibly my proudest moment on the fora.

I got my grades today (the ones I'll be applying to university with). It's hard to translate universally, but if 100% is maximum with top grades, I got 110,5% by reading extra courses, like language and maths.

I got a high enough grade on the hardest project of the year that most likely my grade will stay at a solid A.
The problem is, I'm not sure if I got it because it was that good or because of favoritism (the teacher is really affected by it)...

eh. I mean, we're doing this in a garage at the drummer's house, and I'm the producer of it. so I'm not coming into it expecting really crazy high-quality stuff. it sounds like a demo and will never sound really well-produced, but the advantage of doing it on your own is that you know what sounds you want, and you usually know how to make those sounds. sometimes they're out of your reach but overall you make the songs how you want to hear 'em.

but it's fun and exhausting to do it all by yourself. i think it's funny that there are only three people that will realize how much effort went into it, and only one person (hey, that's me) who experienced literally every moment of it's production.
uhhhh fuck.

So in the geology class I took this term, we have quizzes each day in class, and if you get 45 correct answers over the term (out of 50-52ish) you don't have to take the final. I've been keeping a tally, but got off by a couple somewhere along the way so I haven't been sure for a couple weeks just how many I had, and I thought after the last lecture today that I had maybe 42 or 43, at most.

Turns out I have 45. One less final to take, woo!

(Still leaves three more, plus a paper and a lab report, all due Thursday or Friday, but still. :D)

Yeah, Valve can't do much about one-off non-profits, but something tells me they'd be less than happy about selling a bunch of them.

As for his employment status, I'm unsure but have been told that "he does have a degree in That Sort Of Thing". So if he doesn't have a job already, it looks like he could easily get one.

I wrote a 2000-word paper for my philosophy-and-neuroscience class about a month ago, halfway through the term. Why is this awesome? Because the new paper that I have to write for Friday only has to be 2000 words, not 4000 like most of my class. I am so effing glad I took the two-shorter-papers route rather than the one-longer-paper route.

Quite honestly? If I had to write a longer paper, I am absolutely certain I would fail.

I just had a glass of cold water with a few drops of mint extract and a half spoon of sugar. My, was it delicious and refreshing. Why has no one made this into a wildly successful overpriced bottled drink? This may become my new favorite hot weather beverage.
