You just made me take off my sock. My big and baby toes only have one joint, but the three in the middle have two. I am bemuse.

Huh, all of my toes except the big ones have two joints. Maybe your baby toe is just so small you can't tell two joints apart?

Very obscure one (you're only get it if you have lived in a small rural region of New Hampshire).

What, you thought the leg was an arm, and the arms were another arm?

On the traditional wrapping paper there is a line down the center of the middle "T". So it reads in blue Swee(T/T)arts in red. Thereby giving the "sweet tarts" name.

In Spanish class today, I was just looking around the room, and on the wall was a list of the ordinal numbers in Spanish. I noticed that "seventh" was "séptimo".

HOLY CRAP SEPTIMUS FROM STARDUST WAS THE SEVENTH SON. And I checked, the rest of the sons' names are Primus, Secundus, Tertius, Quartus, Quintus, and Sextus. The only other one I could remember was Tertius. I suppose neither Septimus nor Tertius sounds EXACTLY like 7/seventh or 3/third.

Aw who am I kidding, I'm an idiot.

My pinky toe is so short and wide that if it has 2 joints I'd be very, very surprised.

Speaking of toes, I saw an Asian lady with 6 toes at a restaurant the other day. I thought it was way cool that she felt comfortable wearing flip flops.

I just saw the word remedial used in the sense of the adjective form of remedy, and it was only now that I made the connection between remedial school programs and remedying the students education... "remedial" was just another word entirely until now.

I literally smacked myself for that one.

It's the opposite for me... I'm usually pretty good at recognizing things like that, to the point where I involuntarily make those connections and annoy myself.

Sigged. And not just a normal sigged: I've usually kept aleflamedyud's "But chairs are carbon-neutral. It's what sits in them that's not." and one other quote, sometimes replacing the second one because the first was too good, but now I'm replacing the first one. Well done.

There really should be a proper "sig this" function on the forum, which keeps track of how many times someone has been sigged and how long their quote lasted...

When I was in New York, lanicita and hendusoone took me to a frozen yoghurt place called 16 Handles. I just thought it was because there are 16 different flavours of icy, yoghurty, ice-creamy, sorbet-y* products, each with a handle to dispense them. (Welcome to the world of tomorrow!) Only thinking back last week, how I could have missed the fact it was a play on

On David Letterman, they have little segments with Rupert at the Hello Deli. I always assumed it was just a super-friendly deli, until my mom told me it's a play on Hello Dolly.

There's a lake in my state called Lake Taneycomo. Most people don't realize that it's named that because it's in Taney County, MO.

My keyboard is completely lopsided.

The main part of the keyboard is all the way to the left. Over on the right side is where all the arrow keys and the number pad are. I've been sitting with my keyboard centered in front of me, meaning my hands have constantly been squished over the left side of my desk.

I'm more ergonomic now, but the asymmetry of my desk is bothering me now.

I generally sit right of center relative to my desk, so I turn the keyboard a little bit towards me. Try it, if there's room. It means my body is facing to the left and my head is turned to the right, but you might prefer that over being squished to one side. Plus, sitting on a diagonal gives me more room to stretch my legs.

If you're using Windows, go into the language settings and enable the US-International keyboard layout, making the right Alt key into AltGr. That also turns a few keys into dead keys; it's a bit odd to get used to, but you'll have an em dash and stuff.

For quite a while I thought that the UK road sign warning of loose chippings was a hammer smashing rocks, rather than part of a car flicking up stones from its tyres.
