Need you Guys to Take a Survey for me, Please!

Postby Supervisor » Wed Jun 09, 2010 1:32 am UTC

I need at least 200 people to take this survey by tomorrow and have struggled to find people who would do it.

So, I guess I'm depending on you guys...
Please, please, please take it!

Thanks!

..."the Bethlehem community"?

How about some context? I don't even know what part of the world you're asking about.

Yeah, WTF on a couple of them for lack of context (and one that clearly did not have a correct answer listed).

Random much.
Why is it that 4chan is either infinitely awesome, infinitely bad, or "lolwut", but never any intermediary level?

by "most harmful greenhouse gas" do you mean
most harmful when inhaled?
causes the most warming per cubic meter of gas?
is responsible for the most warming?

Survey completed. Other people can do this better than me, but a critique:
Spoiler:
The Bethlehem question, as others have mentioned, has no context. Without such context, and being a Brit, I naturally assume the most well known one, which has a mediterranean climate, and is situated in the Judean Hills. This region has, I believe, a mixture of biomes, but the one that best fits the answers available is savanna. If you meant, Bethlehem, PA I imagine I'm probably wide of the mark.

Climate change does, indeed, depend on daily temperatures, if you aggregate such temperatures over enough time. I'm pretty sure this isn't the answer you were looking for, but it's the right one. I think the question you meant to ask was something like "Can the effects of climate change be measured by observing the daily temperature on a given day?"

There is also no context for 'most harmful' greenhouse gas, as 4=5 points out. If you mean the largest overall contributor, that's CO2, if you mean the worst per unit volume released, then it's methane. The question on energy loss when eating food is horribly vague - I assume you mean what is the sum of the chemical energy in the food not extracted by digestive processes? Or do you mean how much energy does it take to physically gather, cook and eat food, compared to that provided by the foodstuff? Either way, this is extremely variable, depending on the type of food under consideration.

3. Which of the following do you think is the best way to protect against infections?
Most practical or most effective?

Done.
Spoiler:
@Q3 is there any reason antibiotics, bio hazard suits or chemical showers arn't an option?... also you may want to edit hand to hands

Also Question 4 seemed a bit odd to me. Of course daily temperature matters as it would effect the mean and so would effect the climate statistics.

Regarding question 6 are we talking over all bio diversity or bio diversity per unit area. Also it would depend on where that area was, an area of the moon or the sun no matter how big is going to be 0.

Well, guys, I applaud all of you!

I handed in the assignment with around 67 completed surveys but the teacher was suprised that I even got that many so he gave me full credit.
8)

Oh, right, maybe I should have explained more:
This survey was for my class (Wildlife Biology) and then other people in my school.
Of course, me not being lazy, decided to worry about it yesterday (day before it was due).

So, the "Bethlehem" community is where I live.
But, well, thanks to all of you that did take the survey!
:D :D :D :D

As for the questions you guys are curious about:
1. Self explanatory.
2. Explained above.
3. Ah, this one was a question on one of our quizzes that my teacher stressed.
4. Another one on the test - he said that most confuse weather with climate.
5. This one is opinion based.
6. Another one on a test that was stressed.
7. Self explanatory.
8. Trick question!
9. Self explanatory.
10. Really, really hard.

Not really. That could still, by the thread's responses, be any of three Bethlehems (I went with the PA/Amish assumption).
6. Another one on a test that was stressed.
As someone who avoids biology at all costs: which is it?! Common sense would say increases, but that's not really science. In fact, it's not even bad science, or fake science.

Oddly enough, I thought of Bethlehem, Wales first. But I've been through there a lot.
Anything I said pre-2014 that you want to quote me on, just run it past me to check I still agree with myself.

Oh, my "explanatory" thing for number two was referring back to my own community/neighborhood.
This is Bethlehem NY (first link on Google).

Hmm... Number six was increase.
It was total biodiversity, by the way.

You understand, of course, that Google pays attention to your IP and where you are in the world, and tailors the searches you make therein, so if you punched in Derby you'd probably get a hat, while I would get a bunch of horses?

Ahh...
Therein lies the problem...

Well, Town of Bethlehem NY Delmar should probably get you to it, then.
