Freud also expanded on the idea of the Electra Complex. You females (I assume) don't get away scot free.

I, personally, think the whole concept is ridiculous, regardless the person's sex. However, the play on words works better with the Oedipal complex ('mother' rhymes with 'other'). I shouldn't have to explain this to you.

I don't think the concept is actually that ridiculous, I think Freud just put it in the wrong terms. But to explain that fully, I'd need to be a lot more awake.

Finally got around to finding pics.

This is the most current, and favorite.

Image

This is actually also current, but isn't very helpful.

Image

This is fairly recent. Late night coding FTW!

Image

This is from Christmas break. The caption is not my fault. Someone else took the picture, and I didn't think to request a clean version.

Image

By the way, how do you make images display as thumbnails? Is it g2Img?

Well, yeah. When it comes to pictures of me, supply exceeds demand I suspect. An epic bakefest is being planned in your kitchen. There will be cake. You will reap the benefits of having friends who put Martha Stewart to shame.

No...California born and bred for several generations. However, I believe there's a photo in the snapshots gallery of my father all sooty. He's a firefighter. Were you by any chance in an area of Virginia or Louisiana hit by a natural disaster in the last several years? If a large area of a state is on fire or devastated by a hurricane, chances are my father is there.

Spatially, yes. Temporally, no.

Which is to say, I got out of New Orleans well before Katrina.

Ahh well. You must just look like someone.

But yeah, very quality phoe-toes.

So here's my face. Since I already posted in the 'you don't belong in pictures' thread.

I love that dirty water.

And this is me making an excited and scared and weird face because I'm about to bungee jump off of the Kawaru River Bridge in New Zealand.

Sarah, when you come back to Boston you gotta come over and make me pretty and take pictures of me. I have no good pictures.

Indeed, I did many touristy things in Queenstown.
That day, I went bungee jumping first thing in the morning, then I had a venison burger at Fergburger (definitely the best burgers in the world) and for dinner the group I was with had a hangi and I ate four other kinds of meat. (chicken, beef, pork, lamb)

What's better than a five-meat day, I ask you?

a five-meat day in New Zealand, where you just did the most life-affirming thing ever, that's what.

God I miss New Zealand. :-(

Having lived in NZ for something like 10/11 of my life, I have to say, I have never had a venison burger, never bungy jumped, and never had a hangi :)

I have been to Queenstown though, back when I lived in Otago.

As part two of my newbie introduction, here's a picture I just took with my laptop's crappy camera:

Image

However crappy the camera may be, it has some cool effects. The artistic side of me likes this picture quite a bit:

Image

I wish I could resize them, but I'm new to macs and can't figure out how to do it with just iphoto. Does anyone know how?
Go, said the bird, for the leaves were full of children,
Hidden excitedly, containing laughter.
Go, go, go, said the bird: human kind
