That establishment behind you, is it really called "Dick's last resort"? Gross. I don't want to think about what Dick's last resort would be.

And your shirt: "What happens at the library, stays at the library"? Love it.

Anyway, here's the obligatory "you're cute":

yeah i didn't go there. that was in boston. there is one in dallas, and i think the shtick is that the wait staff is REALLY rude, but you're welcome to be rude right back. I've heard there is throwing food, however i can't personally vouch for this, and my parents have been known to lie to me about trivial things like that. (well, not lie but make up stori... yeah, lie.)

also, thanks.

In this case, they have not deceived you.
It is not unusual to have a waiter, instead of refilling your drink, hand you a map to the drink machine and tell you to go get your own god-damned drink. your feet work? right?
I also have witnessed a particularly un-liked customer have their ribeye steak and mashed potatoes served in a blender.

I always wanted to work their when I was waiting tables...it would have been so much fun...

I dig that first picture btw :)

If I'd known that was the schtick I'd have insisted on eating there. I guess I'll just have to eat there next time I'm being touristy in Boston.

Apparently it's not uncommon for families to go in, not knowing the shtick, and get asked why the hell they're there. Of course, they usually get offended, pop the bird or say something along the lines of "well I never" and leave. I would love to see a tally of how often that happens.

There is indeed one in Dallas, and I've thought about going there more than once.
Totally not a hypothetical...

I went to the one in San Diego, and it was thoroughly disappointing. They didn't utter a single swear word, and the worst they did was give us one big glass of water and dropped a bunch of straws on the table.

I'm told they used to be *much* worse, including swearing (up to and including the words you can't say on TV) literally *yelling* at customers, etc.

That actually sounds like a lot of fun, it's a shame to hear that the one here in San Diego is a disappointment.

This is me being cute in a tree in a playground in Boston. We climbed up there first, and then realized we were setting a bad example for the kids when they clambered in up after us.

It's cool, it looks like you fell out of the sky and landed in a tree, but not in a 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah splat ouch' kind of way, more of a 'float, float, float, hmm this looks like a nice place to stop'.
