pollywog wrote:George Orr, is your beard the same colour as your manstache? Because if they aren't, well, that slightly increases your awesomeness. Because my manstache is black, while my beard is ginger.

It is in fact a slightly different color, being red-ish/ginger-ish while the rest of my hair is back/dark brown. All of my hair actually has a tendency to change colors sporadically (although not suddenly, and not too extremely). When I was growing up, people would always ask my mother how she dyed my hair, when in fact it was just that way naturally. Its color-changing-ness has diminished as I've grown older, so I was surprised and a bit happy that, when I did start growing a beard, it was a different color.

It does make me hold out some hope for awesome chameleon-like abilities, though :D

Yeah, definitely. When I was living in Otago as a kid we used to go on day trips to those places all the time. Dad had a little sailing boat that we'd go out on whatever lake was closest (e.g. Wanaka, Dunsten etc). I remember Cromwell is quite nice too.

I just moved all my stuff from my old computer to my new one and have been discovering all kinds of old pictures. I will post some actual pictures soon.

Liking the new avatar VSM - very debonair!

Aisling should stop being so pretty/having such lovely hair/being near raptors. It's making the rest of us jealous, I tell you!

Quick! Someone photoshop an oboe into those photos! Ren looks naked without one!
On a slightly more serious note, what's your hair colour in that first photo? It looks almost purpley.

Dude, I'm a New Zealander. I pretty much _do_ know everybody here. It's literally impossible for walk around town without seeing a half dozen people that I know. So that's not the type of joke I'd make :)

Except for the igloo part.

Nah, I was going for the "hey, I'm in Halifax, that means I must be your best friend! awww". Except I'm not in Halifax yet, and it's not a very funny joke.

Oh hey there I think an old high school friend of mine once snogged your second cousin, once removed? They both got drunk at a party, had a brief, yet profoundly intense kiss, then as they both looked into each other's eyes, a moment of fear passed between them and they left immediately having now not seen each other since.

Of course, since I also curl, I've probably already met and played with/against every other Canadian curler.

Actually they had curling in the Southland today, so I could have done it from here (after a 3 hour ferry ride and a 10 hours drive) :) I think we have like one lake that freezes for a few days a year or something.

But I should try curling in Canada, should be awesome.

The Music Faculty puts on a Formal--dinner/partAY every year.

I don't really like dressing up, but my sister convinced me to buy that dress on the condition that I could dye my hair purple. It turned out that it matched *almost* exactly.
