Generally people will say that when their next age is coming up.

As if it matters. You are "17" for all of an instant before you are 17 and a bit.

Still a very redundant convention. It would be a lot easier just to say you're almost 18, or 23 in 4 months.

Hee. Yes, 19 in October. I wanted to do the whole "I turn 20 in just over a year!" thing, but I would have to wait 6 months for that shit.

And seriously? You thought I was older than that? With my maturity level? I thought most people would have guessed, I dunno, 15-16?

It's amazing how people with huge post counts (who post enough that I recognize their nick/avatar) are so young. Related to that, I kinda lost respect for a couple of members when I saw their pic. It's like they went from being "a smart person" to "a silly looking kid".

well, I did it because I was thinking of that song from "Sound of music"...and to clarify that I didn't turn 16 this year I guess, although it isn't all that important.

Similar situation here. I'm turning 20 on the 1st of September, and I'm already having moments of bewilderment over what I'm going to do when I can't call myself a teenager anymore. ("Young adult" just doesn't have quite the same ring to it.)

That's sort of how I felt. I thought for a long time 16 was supposed to be a magical age where you had a car, hung out with friends, got the guy, got the perfect kiss and everything was awesome.

It wasn't.

That's what happens when children read books!! They hope!
