Well, for me, it's not that it's not different. It's that the change happened so gradually I didn't even notice.
I remember being 17 and wanting to turn 18, because things would be different when I'm 18. And then things would be different when I'm 19. Etc. Etc. All of a sudden I realize I'm halfway through 22, have my own apartment, a 40 hour a week job, and I buy milk and bread at the grocery store instead of chips and beer. I'm like "when the fuck did THAT happen?"

so the XKCD fans is mostly people from 18 to 21. do you think it is gonna stay that way as years go by or do you think it is gonna stay with our generation so that in 4 years it is suddenly the next segment of age that is the most representet if you get my meaning

is it age defined or generation defined. ?

Being 23, I've crossed to the other side of the hill. It's all going down from here on.

On the other hand, I can demand that 68% of the xkcdians get off my lawn. That's something, I guess.
I edit my posts a lot and sometimes the words wrong order words appear in sentences get messed up.

No, not mostly. 60% of people who responded to this poll are outside of that age bracket. While we can say that the average XKCD reader is post highschool/early college, the bulk of the responders are within the highschool and college years - 15-25.

As for the readership in the future, that more depends on Randall. If he continues creating comics in the same style about the same subjects then yes, it's likely the demographics won't change too much - people will stop reading simply because that's what people do, and new readers will discover it somewhere in their highschool/college years.

If Randall changes the subject matter and slowly adapts, the readership will change and adapt along with him, possibly skewing for an older crowd as the High School kids no longer find anything that resonates with them.

I'm 19, will be 20 in five months. I'm really excited about it. I think that once I reach 20, I'll finally feel like an adult instead of a teenager.
...this means I have five months to get all the teenage angst out of my system before I no longer have an excuse. Ohhhh boy.

I'm turning 18 in about 2 months. The idea of leaving the house, going to college, and learning how to be an adult is exciting and scaring the shit out of me at the same time.

Don't worry: I found them all at uni.
Opinions develop slowly. Dont try and "get" them, because that will only result in you just pretending to believe what someone else does. I'm 21 and I still don't have fully formed opinions on many of life's vital matters.
I made friends on the first night of uni, but I only really started to hang out with them at the end of my first year. It was weird to socialise at first (I'm just gonna go ahead and assume you're as introverted as I was), but once you're used to it friendships are made easily and good friendships will come.
Clothes accumilate as well. I only started to care about how I dressed when I turned 20, and if you know where to shop (and if you don't one of your new friends will), you can get pretty decent threads for fuck all (I'm just gonna go ahead and assume you're as skint as I was).
I'm 21 and still don't know what .rc files are for.
Also, the life expectancy for someone of our age group living in the first world is about 100. You haven't even had a fifth of your life yet, so don't worry on that front.

tldr; Don't worry, you'll either get there or people are just as bad as you, and you've got plenty of life left.
Spelling and grammar can go screw themselves.

I'm probably as introverted as is possible without some pretty concerted effort. I have plenty to think about, but none of it really makes for casual conversation.
From the majority of perspectives 18 is still really young I suppose. I still think I need to spend my time better; reading books instead of watching episodes of TV shows I've already seen, working on projects instead of looking them up on the internet, talking to people instead of not talking to people.
Anyway, I keep on going out running, hopefully that should buy me some extra time. And if it doesn't I want my sitting down time back.

17.

Starting Uni in a month (starting in March is normal here), moving out for real, and with any luck (by which I mean letter of acceptance), moving to the US to (re)start school in the fall over there. I kinda-sorta feel like I should feel grown up.

Nah, don't worry about that. I definitely did not feel grown up at the start of uni.But uni makes you grow up fast.
I still don't feel that grow up now and I'm done with first year and in the US at uni for this spring semester.

I hope your letter comes, good luck with it all.
