Does anyone live there? And not in the general sense, but in the specifics of someone on this forum.

OK, good luck with your search. If it's possible I can help at all, let me know and I'll try.

Here is a question, how big is Fife? Because in my head it is a small community, where it would be normal to bump into people a lot, but I doubt this is true.

Fife is a county, so pretty big. I'm sure that a lot of the towns have a 'everyone knows everyone' thing going on, but not a chance over the whole of Fife :(

Then it was a fruitless search to begin with (Not that I suspected less). Never mind.

Is there a loooooooooooooooooove story behind this search? Romance always manages to warm the heart!

I had a music teacher in elementary school named Mrs. Fyfe. Think she was from Fife, Scotland, also. She was a bitch...but very fife-y.

Heh, a love story of a sort. One that the veterans of these fora will have doubtless heard me spout before, so I warn you veterans, here it comes again.

I used to live in Scotland, and I came to become best friends with a girl there, who I eventually got to date my cousin (Who was also a good friend of mine). Things went ace for about a year, then they broke up for reasons withheld from me. Less than a week afterwards I just drifted into a relationship with her. We'd been together five years, although strained at times due to me moving to England. Then she vanished. Stopped answering her phone, stopped answering her e-mails. Just nothing for six months.

Then she comes back, phones me up says her phone got stolen and she's been in Fife with her cousin (Plausible story for certain reasons, less plausible in that in six months she was devoid of a computer to e-mail me and let me know what was going on despite pretty much all libraries havign a computer with net access.) Anyway, she is back for two weeks, tells me she will see me next Tuesday and goes.

Tuesday comes around, no Louise. It's been eight months since then and mostly I have been hurt and angry. The other night I had a rather sickening thought, what if something had happened? Her family would never deign to acknowledge my existence long enough to tell me. So I trawled through the Scottish birth/death records, but no record that she'd died. Then I though "Well, maybe she is back in Fife" and had an idea that if someone on here was in Fife, they may have seen her working, or even know her.

Thus this thread was born, but it seems Fife is a county, not a town as I had thought it was.

Wonderful. Although now it comes to it, her description is rather generic. About 5ft 4ins, black hair that reaches her waist, extremely pale skin. Tendency to wear black, very thin, almost rakish. Vivid blue eyes.

That is about it as far as descriptions go, nothing particularly identifying. Ah well, should you happen across someone (About twenty years of age) called Louise who fits that description, do inform her that I am still alive.

"Are you Louise?"
"..Yes, who are you?"
"That's not important right now. I come to you with a message; Jesster still lives."
"...Who are you? Where are you from?"
"The internet, Ma'am."

Please God let that happen!... Y'know, so Jesster can find his friend...
I already have a hate thread. Necromancy > redundancy here, so post there.

Agreed. This would be brilliant. I can already see a comic with this dialog, it just screams XKCD to me.

Awwww, poor Jesster! That really sucks.

...Although I can't help but think it was the mask...

*cough* I sincerely hope you find her. But if not, then at least you had the experience, right? Maybe you'll meet some great new girl who's not going to disappear on you after a few years.

Good luck!

She wouldn't even find that out of the ordinary. After all, she was with me for about five years.

And mostly I am after finding her because I want to know what's happened. I get worried occasionally.

you know, there was a boy in canada that i was just thrilled with, and i never even met him. we met on irc, talked on the phone (Oooo those phone bills. i thought my parents were going to murder me) and then he just disappeared. I was very worried b/c he had attempted suicide before and wasnt half stable half the time. Its been 7 years or so and i still worry from time to time. He was a good friend, as good a friend as a person from Toronto can be to a person in Texas.

its not really the same, but i understand how you feel, a bit, with the worry and all. i hope you hear something of her at least =]

Damn! You sniped the thought right out of my fingertips. Whatever happened to him?

Maybe everyone in Fife just disappears after a while? Like the Bermuda Triangle only vastly different?

He went away to France to do something for six months and he has limited internets there.
