Last night, I dreamt I got acute megaloblastic leukemia.

I went through the symptoms, I got tested, I started treatment, I had to tell my friends and family and I had to kind of come to terms with the fact that I would probably not survive, in my dream.

It was really pretty darnawful. I even dreamt about pain from the lumbar puncture :(

Last night a small portion of my dream included a small lizard like creature that lived inside of my bed (in the dream it was a waterbed-aquarium). It was mostly bipedal, about the size of a one month old kitten, except with a tail as long as the rest of its body. It was also about as smart as a cat. In the dream I had run out of aquatic lizard food, so I let it run around the house and eat bugs... (in my dream my house had a bug problem, two birds, one stone =D).

Last night I dreamt that I was living in some kind of cave with a lot of people, but there were saboteurs among us who changed things. Things that got changed acquired an orange lining around their edges, and there was a timer set so that all such things explode. A time traveler showed up to help. He brought me to his "base of operations," set 10^30 years after the big bang. I asked for his subjective age, and he said 10^1 years. LOL. Anyways, we defused most of the sabotaged stuff (by cutting off the orange lining with a box cutter); the timer was counting down, so all of us went deeper into the cave.

Then I woke up, because I really had to pee.

I dreamed I ordered weapons grade plutonium on ebay because I thought the seller was joking, and then it arrived and I didn't know where to put it and I got radiation sickness and died.

I was going to an exam with Phil, a real-life friend who doesn't actually go to my uni. He was going with me even though he doesn't take the subject the exam is on, presumably just to wish me luck. After I worked out which room I was meant to be in, I went in, and so did he! There were no chairs or tables in the room - everyone was sitting on the floor, with their paper clearly visible to those next to them. I sat down, and Phil sat next to me, and (as well as being there in the first place) started breaking several exam rules: talking, looking in the exam before it's started, and getting out notes relating to the subject (and even managing to get some all over my paper). As the invigilator was about to tell us to start the exam (even though a few people had already started), music suddenly blared out from nowhere! It was my alarm clock in real life, but after getting shocked by it my first thought was that someone's mobile had gone off.

I was in this big bed, with white covers. One of my good friends(Nate maybe?) was in bed with me to my right. There were other people to my left. Nothing sexual at all about it, we were just in bed. Nothing much really happened, other than I knew I had lost my job, and I was running out of money, and the job I thought I had applied for or gotten had turned me down.

I was taking a nap earlier this afternoon, and dreamed that my mom and I had gone down to Pensacola, FL to visit my biological dad, like we had always done just about every month this year. We were driving back to the nursing home he stayed in from somewhere, and after I dropped them off at the home, I went on to go somewhere else I needed to be, I think to the store or Wal-Mart to get something for him. I was driving back towards our friends' house that we usually stayed with, but instead of going to the house, I turned right onto the road their house was on, and got back onto the main highway. However, the main highway had three lanes going in one direction, and the direction I was going only had one lane. There were people driving in my lane, going in the wrong direction! I kept leaning on my horn, and the first car I encountered was I think a green Honda Accord or Ford Crown Vic, with an Asian woman as the driver. She wisely threw her car into reverse, and backed into a nearby driveway. As I was driving by, I glared at her, and she just shrugged and mouthed, "I'm sorry". I encountered a couple of more wrong-way drivers.

In the dream, we had apparently been keeping up with the local news in Pensacola. We were also apparently going down there more frequently, maybe twice a month instead of once a month. We had not heard of any hurricanes forecast, nor had we heard of any evacuation orders issued.

In the state of Florida, they have what they call One-Way Evacuation Operation. Basically, it means that all lanes on certain highways, on both sides, now only move in one direction, and that's whichever direction gets you OUT of Florida.

Setting: An artificial planet that had humans and maybe other animals living both outside and inside of the shell. There was a mention about the soil being worn out in places, much like Niven's Ringworld. The people regarded this as the only actual world.
I didn't remember any of this for the first half an hour after waking up. The events, which happened on the surface, included a woman who went on a mission or crusade for things she believed in, and included her children in that out of necessity. There was a fight which ended up with the last enemy getting a sword in their back and out their chest, wielded by an adolescent who joined in and was only shown after the first fell out of the way. The family was traveling toward an entry to the inside.
The dream in general played out as a long cinematic sequence, definitely in colour. I don't expect subsequent episodes though.

Last night I dreamed I was back in school, I think at university, albeit me never having gone to university. A few classmates and I had learned there would be a presentation/lecture done in one of the lecture halls, regarding, of all things, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Many of us started heading down there, and along the way I saw a banner featuring Rainbow Dash or some other pony hanging from the ceiling in the hallway, but it was lopsided. I stopped to straighten it, but someone told me not to worry about it, because we would be late. I left it alone, and went into the lecture hall. We all took our seats, which happened to be very tiny. I ended up having to take up two seats. I was talking to someone that was about five rows above me, while we were waiting for the speaker to arrive.

I dreamt I was back with my NASS company, heading out to a virtual reality wargame. I was tasked with holding some position or another with my squad after being inserted by Osprey. Before we were inserted, we were all getting ready in our barracks, and then everything went to hell when artillery started coming in. The rest of the dream was pretty much just me scrambling through debris, a lot of fire, and panic.

I was buying lunch somewhere, and somehow things kept coming up thrice on the bill and I started arguing with the cashier. Then things started coming up 'itemised', like a sandwich would be breadx2, stuff inside, each with its own ridiculously high price. Then I somehow ended up getting paid and getting the food for free.

I was trying to go to the toilet in a restroom where the cubicles were very small and had no walls/barriers to the left or right so everyone else could see me going. Also, there was a girl in there despite it being the men's room. She was talking to a male friend until he realised she shouldn't be there, at which point she explained that she was trying to make him more aware of his surroundings by either following him in there or projecting a hologram of herself there (it wasn't clear which).

I was in a hallway made of dark grey brick. It was fairly dark, and wide. Grates/bars at each end, and a door on one side, and a passage maybe 10 feet beyond it. It ended in a pit at each end - each pit being mayube 10 feet across to the next section of hallway. At first it was empty. THen dinosaur bones started being thrown through the air, and I had to catch them. Soon there were piles around of the bones. Then two bone dinosaurs came after me - one birdlike, like a giant ostrich, and one more like a raptor. I snuck through the door, and was able to evade them. Also, for some reason the dream reminded me of the Malazan book of the fallen series.

Second dream. Details are hazier. Was at a bar or restaurant. Then maybe doing laundry in the back? Not sure. Anyway, a plague or demon or something was in the building. I and another guy fought it. You could tell where it was because of burgundy(bloodlike) stains on everything - walls, floors, clothing, etc. I also got the phone number of a cute girl while saving everyone. Went back the next day to try and help. Something about giant things - like circus rides or something, being brought home from another town.

Did you dream of yourself working? I hate those. When awake, I then confuse what happened at dream-work with what happened at real-work. I think that's why I tend to think I already did something when in reality I didn't.

Anyhoo, I had three short dreams:

1. I dreamed my parents and I went down to Florida and were about to stay with our friends down there. My dad got nervous about something, and decided to leave.

2. A former co-worker, who had left on rather bad terms, returned, and was trying to redeem herself, but in the dream I (and other co-workers) still knew what she had done, and believed she had some gall to show her face in there again, and to try to be friendly again.

3. We wanted Domino's for supper, so I called them, but they said I already had a pizza waiting, so I said I'd come pick it up in 5 to 10 minutes.

I don't normally remember my dreams, which made the sensation of dreaming and remembering it all the more bizarre.
Last night I dreamed that my girlfriend turned into a cat whenever I looked at her. The transformation was instantaneous - if I wasn't looking, she was human, if I was, she was a cat. She wanted to put makeup on me, but because of the cat problem, she had to stand behind me and reach around to the front, using a mirror in front of me to see. For some reason she wanted to use a blue paint pen for eyeshadow, and that felt weird as all hell. Then she wanted to give me eyeliner, with wingtips. but kept fucking it up because she was doing it from the back, so eventually gave up. Then I woke up. Whenever she was a cat, she communicated with me via telepathy, I guess, because I could hear her voice, but she was still a cat.

Took a nap this afternoon, and had a cool dream.

I dreamed I was back at our house in Conyers, GA, and I was playing with my Bubble Thing. My dad had brought it out, and had apparently mixed up a bubble solution that allowed for better bubbles than I'd ever done before. I was making bubble "walls", where I'd opened the loop only a few inches, and a huge bubble wall would stream out, and last for a few minutes. I was also making other bubbles, mainly big ones.

Last night I dreamed of the pre-apocalypse. I was friends with some kids that looked like the kids from "Twilight" (my parents and I watched the Rifftrax version last night. Made the movie semi-bearable to watch), and we were heading to this house whose interior looked like the room at the roach motel my biological dad is in. There were several other people there, mostly kids, and some adults, probably their parents or other family members. We were all hunkered down on the floor, and I had done the "Duck and Cover" position with my back against the wall, and my hands covering my neck. The short film played a role in the dream, because I kept hearing parts of it in my head, and sure enough, a siren went off, and even though I had my eyes closed, I could see the "bright flash" and heard the explosion of an atomic bomb. I opened my eyes briefly and then reclosed them, and at one point I opened them again, when it seemed to be over, and continued talking to my friend, but I realized she was dead.

This morning I dreamed I was at the vet clinic, with this puppy my mom and I found at the nearby Hardee's. The vet was talking to us about certain meds, and I asked about hemoglycine. The vet said it was $30-some a bottle. He also asked for current pics of a couple of our cats. Apparently he also treated humans, because there was a couple of human patients there, including a co-worker, and the vet was prescribing some medication for me.

So, I just had this dream. At the start, I was in what looked like the flat my nan used to live in, although she didn't appear to be there. I was there with my brother and a (non-existent) friend to play games, although I think there were other people too. There was also a dog that I didn't mind stroking (in real life, I'm scared of dogs and wouldn't be able to stroke one). At one point, I went into what would have been the kitchen in real life, but was instead a large, posh corridor that wouldn't have fit there. At the end of the corridor was a posh sitting-room. It was at this point that there was no longer any connection between this place and my nan's old flat, and when I left the large corridor I was in a huge, mansion-y place in the same style as the corridor and the sitting-room.

I then realised that I was naked! There were posh people all around, but none of them seemed to notice. I sneaked through a dining hall - while doing this, I remembered that I knew the owner, but that she wasn't around to help. At the end of the dining hall, I found two doors, which I assumed to be to the toilets. They were labelled "GIGA" and "MEGA". The first thing I thought of was these two, so I assumed "GIGA" was the male toilet. I opened it, and there was an even posher dining hall! (I can only assume "GIGA" and "MEGA" were upgraded levels of service akin to having a "Gold Membership".) I closed the door, and then I noticed a staircase which I remembered led to the toilets. (I think I may have remembered this from a previous dream in a similar setting...) I went down there, and it lead to sweetshop! A young woman was telling one of the staff that she didn't want to mess around and just wanted a sweet.

Then, as I was waking up, I saw Charlie Brooker criticising my dream in the style of his shows! He said that the "GIGA" turning out to be a restaurant was nonsensical, and that there should have been a more obvious metaphor, like a small dark closet symbolising a dead end.

I was playing a dice game by myself. Something with complicated rules and weird dice, where at the end you have to defeat a big enemy. I lost. Then there was a big group of my friends around, and we were all playing the game. I semi-tried to explain te rules, but didn't really know them. We all played, going around in a big circle rolling dice. I was also busy flirting/hitting on a classmate from high school that I haven't seen in a long time. When we got to the end bad guy, it was more like a real life creatures and not just a dice thing. He was sending out small creatures to attack, and I was walking around the circle smashing/picking up their dice, while everyone else was rolling dice to defeat him.

(Not very original mind)
I saw a precipice, deep in the ocean. Then a submarine started to descend to the trench. Soon it reached the bottom which was illuminated and had some construction and stuff that looked human, but it became obvious that was a bluff: The new arrival started to transform into something else, because of some advanced alien technology. The lone human occupant was not harmed. The resulting contraption was quite translucent because I could see that a lot of its subsystems looked like they were from the original machine but placed differently. Then the now wheeled thing drove off.

Me and some friends came across a limo driver / kung fu master who caught a wasp with his hands while in limo driver uniform. The wasp was large and purple and flew not with wings but by emptying a sac of fluid near its abdomen and wasn't really a wasp at all but for the name. We sat in the back of his limo while he, in the front, rose the window and filled the front cabin with a thick fluid, like a syrup, which effectively allowed us to watch the wasp's movements in slow motion in real time.

Upon waking, this gave me the idea of testing insect flight patterns in heavy and light gases.

Had a cool dream about a future dystopian Singularity AI governed society in which I was revived from cryonic preservation, in the wrong body due to a combination of modern bioethical consensus and technicality, and chased by a modern form of the police, who I attacked, only to discover that due to the all-encompassing governance of the AI, modern society had become pacifistic by way of resignation and none of them even defended themselves, instead attributing (as I learned later) their victimization to the will of the AI, since they assumed it wouldn't have happened otherwise. Society was extremely weird mostly in the sense that human interactions seemed to occur in a radically different way. I had a female chaperon that looked like Judi Dench. The entire dream basically took place in a giant arcology of several thousand floors. In exasperation, my chaperon dropped me off on a floor that was dedicated to the consumer cultural aspects of early 21st century life, so it had a McDonalds, an A&W, a bunch of other such things, and a LAN center. There were a bunch of kids in the LAN center playing mostly starcraft and COD style shooters. They looked normal, but I asked if I we could play L4D after a game finished and the people who were playing something literally got up in mid-game and wandered off like they hadn't had much interest in the first place.

Then I went to buy a combo meal, and discovered that I was 1031 credits in debt; the debt wouldn't prevent me from buying anything, it was seemingly just there, so I used a terminal to find out more about it, at which point I discovered that credits were used as a ranking system in society, and due to overpopulation and resource limitation, every year, the AI would kill the "bottom 20%" of all performers. Not even freeze them or upload them into a computer or anything, just flat out wipe them out. Except, due to the otherwise borderline post-scarcity nature of the world, "wealth generation" as a concept had taken on an extreme arbitrariness, at least from my perspective, although everyone else seemed to understand it and agree with it. At this point I realized I was pretty much fucked, and also why I hadn't been able to meet any other revived cryonics patients. I heard an old man on a video phone with his daughter, who was a McDonalds employee/re-enacter. She had requested credits for something (apparently the 20% thing only applies to people older than 21), and he had basically informed her that, based on various statistical projections, any variance from a very established earning pattern would lead to his liquidation (by matter of being 1.8% short of the cutoff), and that those same projections stated that nothing short of fairly large upswing variance would allow him to survive.

Seeing an opportunity, I jumped in and made what seemed like a really stupid and unlikely to work proposal; that he could try to win the difference in a high-stakes poker game from someone who was similarly on the edge of annihilation, and that as a poker expert I would be happy to enter the tournament alongside him as an insurance and share the winnings adequately between the both of us if I won. Amazingly, I was taken up on this offer, despite the fact I'm actually not good at poker at all. I was extremely nervous since this was a tournament for my life, and since I felt really alienated by the personalities of the people around me, I decided I would play a little joke; I emulated a movie (don't remember which) in which a James Bond like character had worn a white tuxudo with a cowboy hat and a revolver in a shoulder rig to a poker table to intimidate and put off a guy. So I did that, after having a drink, and I had a flask of whisky at the table with me, and nobody seemed to notice.

The first 5 hands of the tournament started out Texas Hold'em. There were 5 players. I won a large amount on the 3rd hand with a bottom straight, which had also been a straight flush draw, but fortunately the flush didn't hit because everyone else in the hand was drawing for a higher flush, and fortunately my bottom straight completed with a low card because two other people were drawing for higher straights (one to an inside card). One person was knocked out by this, and my sponsor lost most of his chips. After five hands of Texas Hold'em, the tournament randomly changed to Omaha. I said to the dealer "hey, you dealt me 4 cards", and he looked at me dully and nodded. So I said "so this is Omaha now?" and he looked at me dully and a bit bitterly and nodded again. I should say that the host of the tournament was also, by coincidence, the guy who had been in charge of my revival. On the first hand of Omaha, he bet out hugely, which received calls all-around. I looked at my hand and saw a pair of kings and a pair of 5s, so I reluctantly called, not really remembering how Omaha works except for lots of draws being good. The flop came AK5s, and the host made another huge bet to match his original. At this point I put him on aces but didn't know how many. I said fuck it and called. My benefactor called after, as did the other remaining player. The turn came 5. I took a swig of whisky and pushed all-in. Calls all around, with everyone but the host being pushed all-in by it. The turn was a seven. Everyone showed down. The host had 3 aces and a low pair for a full house. The other two players had a straight and a flush, respectively. I shook my head, took another swig of whisky and took my chips. I expected my performance to be upsetting and putting the host on tilt, but nobody at all had shown any real emotional reaction.

In the very next hand I flopped a straight flush. I checked, and the host pushed all in. I called. He showed down garbage (he was short stacked at this time). I took my chips and was very confused at how easy the tournament had been. I said to the host, a little bit angrily "What's the deal, man? You played this game soullessly. This was for your life, wasn't it?" He looked at me dully and said "There are no souls, only matter and its predetermined configurations". Then he took out a gun and shot himself. I was the only one at the table who jumped.

Having distributed my winnings so that me and my benefactor were both now in the green (and it should be mentioned that the other 3 people at the table were very, very rich, so this wasn't a life or death game for them), I wondered about what I should do with myself in this fundamentally alien new world. I decided that, since it sucked so much, and since I had been put back in the wrong body, which had negated the entire point of cryonics for me, I should spend all of my money trying to find a backdoor into the AI so that I could change the fucked up nature of the world. I'd asked multiple times if my body could just be changed to what I'd like it to be, but they kept citing bioethics interpretation. I had a deadline of two weeks before the end of the year and liquidation. After pursuing all of my leads and being chased by the police as well as some more mysterious people who were apparently the AI's trusted enforcers, I finally found a backdoor.

The AI told me that human beings are intensely hierarchical but also fundamentally opposed to personal responsibility, and that the current society was essentially designed to exactly accommodate the state of human nature as it had existed at the time of singularity. I stated that human nature shouldn't accommodated if it's terrible, it should be changed. The AI stated that this is unethical according to bioethics interpretations. I stated that a world where things weren't so exactly controlled would allow for the necessary amount of death to balance the population automatically, and the AI said "yes, but then suffering would be reintroduced into the world, and death and suffering would both be distributed randomly." It then went on to state that everyone in this society had been engineered to have an equivalent IQ, therefore in technical terms an IQ of 100, but due to IQ inflation, that IQ would have been 135 at the time of singularity, and it would have been 190 in my time. It then stated, unemotionally, that I was therefore the stupidest living person on earth, and asked me why I felt entitled to make sweeping social engineering decisions which by all common consensus would be regressive.

I shrugged and said "well I didn't come all this way for nothing", and began rewriting the AI's bioethics code.

Thanks  It was just a dream though, it really isn't a testament to my writing ability while awake. I've written a novel for NaNoWriMo before but it was pretty bad. I have a tendency to try to stuff too much into my writing.

I don't often dream, so I can't say what I dreamed last night, and in fact I'm not certain what my last dream was. But I can say some interesting things about my dreams.

They are almost always in the third person and in color, often with music, even if only incidental music. I imagine things in a very cinematic way and apparently my dreams follow suit. Even my memories do likewise. I don't remember seeing, hearing, touching, whatever, but I remember that I was somewhere doing something and things looked and sounded and felt this way, and then I picture that scene in the third person in a dramatic way when I think back on it. In memories, the musical accompaniment is often the song I had in my head at the time, as I almost always have music of some kind in my head. I don't know where the music in my dreams comes from.

In my late teens and early twenties (i.e. 10 years ago) I got heavily into lucid dreaming, and eventually got very good at it. I think this is largely why I feel like I don't dream much anymore. When a dream is so fantastic as to be obviously a dream, I become aware of it being a dream, and it feels more like I'm just daydreaming or imagining something and less like an honest-to-goodness involuntary dream. A weird consequence of this is that the only nightmares I ever have are of mundane situations that could really happen in real life (e.g. my boss is mad at me, I'm getting a speeding ticket, etc), as it's not obvious to me that it's not real and if it's a bad situation I get honestly scared. But anything too out of the ordinary and I become aware that I'm dreaming and don't fear any threats in it. Early on I would do fantastic things to ward off threats in the dream in-character, when lucid dreaming, but these days it's more breaking the 4th wall; something will happen I don't like, I will stop the dream and rewind and go back to before it happened, and have it happen a different way, like I am an author of a story rather than a character in it, but I usually only change things in a way that still has to be... "dramatically correct" I guess you'd say. Something that wouldn't break character or suspension of disbelief if someone were watching a film of the events.

In recent years, I've begun to see connections between the few genuine (non-lucid) dreams I have any more, and they feel very meaningful somehow, ominous or prophetic or something. Often an image from an old dream will spontaneously pop into my head in my waking day -- not like I find myself suddenly dreaming, but for some reason I just remember a dream that I had once, for no obvious reason -- and I find myself feeling like this is important, I'm remembering this dream now for a reason, but I can't ever figure out what that reason might be. Memories of dreams like that connect the dreams together into a weird alternate dream world loosely based on the real world but defying some facts about it in various ways. I'll tell you about the biggest network of such dreams that I've got going so far.

In one dream, I was my present age walking down the street that I lived on when I was in kindergarten, in Ojai, CA. At the end of that street in real life is a trail head that goes out into a meadow between the local elementary school and high school, winding through a small network of branching creeks lined by tall eucalyptus trees. In the dream, the path through these creeks continued much, much further than it could in real life, and turned steeply downhill like a mountain trail, following the creek toward its end. As I walked the path, I turned younger and younger, and by the time I arrived at the end of it I was a child again, maybe 7 years old. The creek and trail ended at a beach, where there was a sort of spa facility; there was a hot tub that the creek poured into, and then out of and across the sand out to the ocean. Next to it was a small building, which had pool equipment and locker rooms and some kind of check-in counter. It feels like this was part of a larger facility but I don't remember anything more than the one hot tub. Nevertheless I knew that this was Matilija Hot Springs, a now-defunct place in the mountains of Ojai where natural hot springs poured into artificial hot tubs just like this. But the beach it was on, I somehow knew, was in Oxnard, some 30 miles away from Ojai.

It was some kind of beautiful, magical twilight on the beach, and everything was aglow in pastel pinks and blues and oranges and purples. I bathed in the hot tub for a while, and I recall there being other people there too, the facility was open and doing good business, but then after a while I got up and walked out to the waves, drawn by something. Sparkling sunlight on the water swirled up into some kind of feminine energy being (Oma Desala from Stargate comes to mind), radiating brilliantly. Waters swirled around her as I waded out toward her, clouds twirled and generally the whole world seemed to convolve around her, and me being drawn into her, held in her arms somehow like a baby, warm and full of infinite peace and comfort. And, this part is hard to describe because it's not visual, but I knew somehow that this was the point of Creation -- this was the time and place where the whole world had come into being (as little sense as that makes to say; maybe it was more like where life was created on Earth?), and walking closer to that place somehow brought you further and further back in time, and here I was now standing, or well floating, being held, almost at the center of it, in perfect, eternal bliss.

I don't remember how I left there, but I left and came back to Ojai, returning to my adult age, to get my (now-ex) girlfriend and show her what I had found. We ran down the same trail, but did not get younger as we went; we arrived at the hot springs on the beach, but it was old, long disused, and overgrown. The sandy beach had eroded away, and the waves now lapped at the edge of the hot tub, eroding its foundation so it tilted sideways, filling it with salt water, and growing coral (which is not native to this area) all over its surface, making it unusable. In the ocean was some big fleet of industrial-looking ships. The dream continued on a bit, something to do with some big industrial tycoon parking his war fleet or something here; I think I sought an audience with him and visited his opulent mansion and he was like a stereotypical Bond villain, affably evil and all that. I don't remember much of how the rest of that dream went or how it ended, but I remember being very upset that this beach of Creation had been disrupted by this rich warmonger.

In another dream, I was traveling up some cobblestone road, in some kind of stone canyon, except the walls of the canyon seemed to be masonry; man-made stone walls, like round river rocks laid atop each other with cement holding them together, not natural canyon walls. On the right side of the road were some buildings built into the wall; on the left side, vines of some kind dangled down from the top of the wall so far up you couldn't even see how tall it was. Water ran down the road, coalescing on the left-hand side of it. Some kind of civilization of feral teenagers were living in this canyon. Eventually I reached a place where the canyon became a clearly artificial tunnel, like a sewer or storm drain or something. I don't remember many more details about this dream, but I remember leading a band of the feral teenagers up into it, and there being the Unas from the Stargate episode of that name living in there, being hunted by the Initiative from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I don't remember where I was leading the kids of why, or how that dream ended.

I later remembered that dream vividly when I walked past a place in Ojai where a creek lined by a stone wall on one side with a stone building on the other side goes under the main road near the center of town, and as far as I can tell disappears underground from then on. That's the upstream direction that disappears underground, so I'm not sure where that creek actually originates from, but downsteam it flows through the main public park in the middle of town and eventually connects to the Arnaz Creek which connects to the Ventura River that flows to the ocean, though not the same place where the Beach of Creation would be.

In yet another dream, for some reason I was on a walk with my (now- and by-the-time-of-this-dream-) ex-girlfriend and a very sullen and depressed friend of hers who I don't know in real life, who reminded me of an overweight, black-haired and nigh-suicidal version of Luna Lovegood, in the sense that she spoke with a kind of crazy creepy voice but seemed like maybe she was really aware of subtle things other people miss out on. (I think maybe this person was like my ex's "dark", moody and mystical half, and the one I recognized as my ex was her "light", rational and pragmatic half, like various parts of her personality had been split into two physical people). We were going to walk along a stretch of the Ventura River Trail in Oak View, near where the Arnaz creek connects to the Ventura River. We walked down a particular street which is really there in Oak View in real life, which runs toward the river but doesn't connect to the River Trail. However, in the dream, there was a trailer park on that road which is also not there in real life, and by walking through it you could get to the River Trail. I don't remember the details exactly, but something was "wrong" about the geometry of space there; by going through the trailer park you ended up in a place that you couldn't get to by going around another way, not because of obstacles or things but because... well, it was what we used to call in the Marathon community "5D space": there were two locations in the same place, and depending on which path you took to get there you ended up in one or the other. The only way to get to that trail was to get to it through the trailer park.

It was in this dream, which was otherwise uneventful besides that setting, that I "realized" that that trail eventually turned into the creek-road from the previous dream, which, if followed through the mazelike underground passageways it lead up into, emptied out to Matilija Creek, in the mountains upstream from the old Matilija Hot Springs, and that that in turn became the creek that runs through the meadow near my childhood home, that runs eventually to the Beach of Creation in Oxnard. Nevermind that none of that makes any sense in terms of the actual geography of the area, and following a creek upstream from Ventura through Ojai eventually ends up with you following it back downstream to Oxnard and creeks don't really work like that, they don't flow over hills. Though I guess the underground maze is maybe where all the waters come from, and it's two separate creeks.

(Actually, thinking back on it now, I think maybe my ex was leading me and her weird friend to rally the lost kids from the canyon through the underground tunnels and out into Matilija Creek, rescuing them from being trapped on that road somehow).

Finally, I had another dream at some point about some kind of... I think it was a retirement community... an old place with paint peeling off all the wooden buildings, but it had a deck of some kind with a big hilltop view, with a pool, and an elevated hot tub. I remember thinking in the dream that it would be nice to live there, even if I am only 30 and everyone else there is a retiree. It was just a really nice place. The dream had some kind of feeling like the movie "Cocoon" -- like these old people had some kind of magical, life-preserving secret they were keeping here in these pools and hot tubs. I eventually realized that the location of that dream was across the street from the nonexistent trailer park with the weird 5D space that leads to the road that eventually leads to the Beach of Creation. Very recently, as in in the past week or so, it occurred to me that I once had a different dream about that same facility, but when it was newer, and located in Scottsdale, AZ, and occupied by my old Rocky Horror Picture Show cast from San Luis Obispo.

Now here's where it gets weird. Early-mid last year (2012), I visited a beach in Oxnard with my current girlfriend, the first time I think I've ever actually been to a beach in Oxnard since I always imagined it had ugly polluted beaches, and it was exactly the location where I dreamt of the Beach of Creation, though of course the Matilija Hot Springs isn't really there and there's no forested trail that runs down from the mountains in Ojai to there. But the shape of the beach itself and its relation to the rest of Oxnard is exactly where I knew it to be in the dream. This kind of weirded me out, but it was a beautiful beach that I never would have expected to find in Oxnard of all places, and we watched a beautiful pink and blue and orange and purple sunset from there that filled me with magical feelings.

Tomorrow, I am going to check out a possible new place to live. I've been looking for a new place for a while, and this one doesn't really sound exactly like what I'm looking for, but I have to at least check it out. Because the Craigslist ad has pictures, and it looks exactly like the "retirement community" that's across the street from the nonexistent trailer park with weird spatial geometries in my dream-space. Complete with chipping paint of exactly the same color and a deck with a hot tub. I'm not really expecting anything, but I'm kind of spooked and have to at least go look at it.

Last night I had a very strange dream.

In this dream, for whatever reason, I had a dream that this muslim woman (for some reason I was distinctly aware that she was muslim, and she wore appropriate head covering) came to me. In the dream her baby had died, and she had the very odd request of me that I mummify her child. This was somewhat perplexing to me (I thought it strange in addition that it did not adhere to Islamic burial customs so far as I'm aware).

I'm pretty sure this dream came out of my fascination for the work of Bob Brier, an Egyptologist famous for conducting a medical study of the mummification of ancient Egyptians by mummifying a corpse of his own. I remember how interested I would be at conducting one of my own, but, more prominent, how sad because it was an infant and somewhat how disgusting it might be.

Anyways... yeah. There were other parts, but that was one of the most interesting.

Not from last night but from the last week.

I drowned.

Dream-self was aboard this low-clearance wooden rowing boat, out in the ocean, middle of the night, thunder storm, massive swell. Two other passengers, both contemporary to me, one male, one female wearing her wedding dress. She was sitting next to me, he was opposite at the prow. It goes on and numerous waves come and splash us, me and the other guy laughing at the girl who is in hysterics at how soaked she is getting in her wedding dress. Eventually a sizeable wave comes and sends us under. And this is where things really go wild.

So I was keeping a hold of the girl, and my other hand on the rail of the boat. She's tugging on me to swim up and surface. I'm holding on to the boat thinking "the boat will surely surface itself of its own accord, right?". It kept sinking and I was going down with it. Somehow my mind controlled the situation by going "we're under-water here, hold your breath so we don't swallow sea-water" - I think it may have consciously controlled me on the upper biological level? I then look to start swimming to the surface, but my legs just won't kick at all and I was still going down. Mind goes through a stream of "well, I'm about to drown in the middle of the ocean with nothing to show for myself, this is it". Woke up, and saw after-images of persons flailing/floating projected into mid-air in my bedroom.

Yeah, not one of my better ones.

I rarely remember dreams. Usually I'll wake up, not knowing that I had been dreaming but then, several minutes later I'll remember that I had been dreaming, but can no longer recall any of the details.

Of the few dreams I do remember, they seem to have one of five themes; A) I've forgotten where I parked my car, or it isn't where I had parked it and I'm walking around trying to find it, always without success. B) I'm trying to find my way from one location to another in a large multi-roomed structure, sometimes a hotel, sometimes a cruise ship and involving many hidden passages, stairways and elevators. C) Needing to use a restroom and finding one which is always out in the open like in a mall or office, or some kind of retail business, with many people nearby. D) Being in a hotel, school dorm or apartment with the sudden realization that I have to pack up and vacate the room by the next morning, and not having any idea of how to manage all the stuff I have to move. E) I'm driving at high speed through a urban area, involving lots of traffic with many merging and connecting roads and bridge approaches. Usually the scenario repeats itself several times.

In the past I had an identical dream 3 or 4 times - I was walking on the sidewalk in front of my old junior high school. I look up over the building in time to see a shiny gold colered airplane fly silently over.

Last night I dreamt that Ron Paul had white supremacist tattoos on his knuckles. I think he was getting the tattoos removed actually.

In my dream last night, there was a town in Norfolk called "Isaactown", where my family and I had been on holiday, and we were amused to discover that it was mentioned by Sheldon in an episode of The Big Bang Theory. For some reason, Sheldon pronounced "Isaac" differently from us (think how Hiro says it in Heroes), and this was apparently the American pronunciation.

Walked into my home(except bigger, and everything was poorly lit) and noticed my TV was gone, or possibly standing on its side near the door. My game systems were still in place, but it was obvious someone had robbed the place. The friends that were with me stayed there, I started walking around, and seeing what else was gone. Found someone upstairs, and caught them. Might have been a kid. Think I caught another kid, a girl maybe 10-12. Went to call the cops, and dialed 911. It rang for a while, then when it was picked up, the guy on the other end of the line thought I was part of some training exercise. I explained that there was a burglar in my house and he said someone would be over right away. When the cops got there, they also thought it was a training exercise, or just didn't take any of it seriously.

I was at I think a test or something for a job interview - had a classroom feel. Something happened, but people broke in, and then left via this blue portal thy made on the wall. Then it somehow switched so I went with them. Turned out we went back to England to this woman's apartment, and I was a spy. The woman turned out to be Angelique, a girl I dated. We stayed at her place for a while, then were going to go get some cash using the portals. She said she stashed $50k at someone's place that I knew. Then she somehow got caught, and I was on the run. So I went looking for the money. I also figured out how to teleport, like in that movie Jumper. So I ended up going to my parents' house(not one in real life, but a dream house). It was nearly empty, with the furniture removed. I looked around, and realized the cash was in the deep freezer, and went to get it. Saw my mom walking around outside by the fence by the neighbor's house.

My dad recently had a dream where he got in a fight with Vernon Kay, who had apparently embarrassed him in front of Cameron Diaz. (?!)

And, just now, he dreamed he crashed his cab. It woke him up quite suddenly and surprised me (he was asleep on the sofa).

Wow.

Ok, so first one was animated like Adventure Time. I was the protagonist w/Jake. Jake got sick or the plague, and had to be thrown out into the dessert, like a bunch of other people. A little while later I got sick too, and thrown in the dessert with just one bottle of water. I gave some of my water to a few different people - these bot like things that were not doing well. Eventually found Jake, but he was upside down in the sky, standing on some big landmass that was like a planet or something. It started moving towards the town, but we stopped it somehow.

Two - it was Christmastime. but not cold or anything. My parents gave me a gift that was a big game inside a building. It was a game where your character would jump on stuff, dodge enemies, etc. Almost like a Super Mario brothers game, except it was Buzz LIghtyear themed. You had to move your guy by hand around the building too.

Three - Was standing on a street with some woman, and another woman was getting out of a cab or something. She came up to us, and gave a spiel about finding a purse in the cab, and something about not having time to find the owner. I blew her off, because I knew it was a scam. As she walked past me she bumped me, but I made sure my wallet didn't get stolen. Later, I was speaking with my friend that had been there, in this conference room. She asked about it and I explained why I thought it was a scam. Oh, and the woman from the cab looked like the one chick on Rizzoli and Isles. Not the Law and Order one, the other one.

Re: What were your dreams last night?

Dreamed I was in some small town, and was arrested for flashing my brights, which I denied having done. The warden was being a dick, and apparently the local police department had been wrongfully arresting a lot of people. They had also arrested a friend of mine, and I finally got up enough balls to tell the warden that I wanted my day in court tomorrow. I also wanted my friend in court tomorrow as well. She was sitting on a couch in a common area of the prison, and we were tapping with our feet a secret code (not Morse) as well as speaking in code as to what was to happen.

The thing about this prison is it wasn't like a typical prison. Looked like a rundown house built back in the 1950s or 1960s - still had the style of furniture and everything. It was poorly lit with fluorescent lighting, the kind that gives everything a greenish tint.

Was in court, and was able to prove my innocence by showing that when a car was coming around a curve, a house was positioned in such a way near that curve that where the arresting officer was sitting, my headlights would be reflected in a window on the front of the house, and it would reflect into his face. I would turn on my brights to see the curve better, and that's why it looked like I was flashing my brights. The officer saw my reflection.

The weird thing about the dream is that it felt like I was having several dreams about the prison at once, like a marathon of dreams, leading up to the series finale.

The next dream I had involved me going back to school, this time back to either the 5th or 8th Grade. I was talking to this former classmate about it, and I said something about wanting to start high school over again, but decided to take it a bit further. He said something about they had been looking forward to seeing me back, and I took my seat where I remembered it always being, towards the back of the classroom, and behind him. We sat in alphabetical order, and his last name started with an "M" where mine starts with an "R". Apparently there were no last names with "N" through "Q" on our class roster.

The weirdest thing about these dreams is that when I woke up, I felt like the prison dreams were finally over, and now I'm going to start having dreams about being back in the 5th or 8th Grade. Kinda felt like my dreams were becoming "American Horror Story"ish, where it will be the same cast, but in different (or similar/same roles), and the setting will be different.

Decided to walk to my brother's place for a party to watch a sporting event. It was about 150 miles to walk(when in reality more like 800). So I walked it in 2 hours. Get there, and go to his apartment/condo(instead of a RL house), and told them I'd walked there. Was sitting on the couch hanging out and realized I wasn't wearing pants. Saw some jeans on the floor, and tried to surreptitiously put them on. Then we were wandering around the local town - going to a show or event or something. I was headed back to his place(the condo, which was on an upper floor of this building that had shops on ground level). Stopped at a bakery. Wanted to buy lots of sweets, but was trying to not ruin my diet. The owner recognized me, because she'd met my mother. We talked about my mom, and I was surprised the owner remembered her, even though she's super chatty, because she hadn't been out to see my brother in 5 years. Left with a box full of pastries and such, then ran into my brother and his wife when they were leaving his building.
