Was driving home from somewhere on an interstate. Saw some cars stopped, and there was a stand selling ears of corn by the side of the road. I stopped, cause I love corn on the cob. Went to buy some, like 12 ears for $12, which I thought was expensive. I only had a $20, and the guy didn't have any singles. So all of a sudden we're in a shop in a mall, filled with touristy trinket items. He started giving me items as change instead. One item had a picture of an ex with another dude on it. Didn't recognize her at first, because she had a mustache.

Last night I dreamed I was at work, going up to the front desk for something, and noticed there was no receptionist. There were people in the lobby, waiting to be served, and the phone was ringing off the hook. I knew a little bit about how to work the phone bank, so I took a few calls, cleaned up around the desk (lots of old papers and other trash), and had one person who was waiting ask for scissors. The lady that was supposed to be on the front desk had ordered a box of scissors, and the person looking for them was told they were in. I didn't find a box of scissors, so I started scrambling around the desk area, and found 7 or 8 pairs of scissors. After the scissors requester left, I found the box, sitting on the file cabinet next to the receptionist desk. One of the vice presidents of the company saw me working the receptionist desk, and asked me where the normal person was. I said I didn't know; she just up and left, without telling me where she was going.

Last night I dreamed that we had cloned megafauna from the late Pleistocene epoch (I was going to say Cenezoic Era, when I realized that included today). We were taking care of herds of mastodons and mammoths, together, and a little girl was carrying around a pink 18-inch dwarf woolly mammoth as a pet, which had been designed for little girls to have as pets, apparently. However, a poisonous six-inch mosquito or wasp of some sort also was cloned accidentally, and it stung the little girl. The only cure for it was to boil the stem of an extinct flower, which luckily had been cloned from the stomach contents of the large pachyderms that had been found frozen (from which the clones were made, of course.) Also, the little girl was with her mother when she was stung, in a raging river on a boat tied to the rocks by a long heavy rope. And a boy (which may have been me) kept getting muddy from the mastodons, who had been rolling in the mud and were quite rambunctious.

Lots of weird stuff. Only thing I remember - was in a van, which was really a huge spaceship. It kept having issues, and you fixed that by pulling the battery out and putting it back in. But it was like I was both inside the ship, and outside, and the ship was toy sized. Also, for some reason the ship wasn't detecting that it was on fire. There was a cargo area, and it had this huge suitcase, in it, that said 'emceng's medical marijuana.

Yeah, really fucking weird.

I was looking through a telescope into space, and found some kind of reflective material. I then zoomed in on the image shown in it, and noticed it was of earth a long time ago, and contradicted accepted accounts of history, then the government showed up, and thats when I woke up.

I started a shuriken fight in a carpark. When things got out of hand, the police were called, and I was arrested. The arresting officer left me in a corner shop where I bought some red wine and lemonade for a cocktail, but was paranoid that they would think I was shoplifting. Then I couldn't find the crisps.

I have just woken up. I still only remember bits and pieces, but I remember the ending clearly. I was in this weird city. I often dream about weird cities, ones that have really curious architecture - often there's a lot of hills and street railways for some reason, and they're often made of pieces of cities that I remember. But yeah, I was on my way to see some old dude who I just remember suffered from depression or something like that? And he could do really awesome card tricks, like he'd set a deck of card in this weird ring shape and then it'd explode into a weird airshow of cards flying around the room. Anyway I was going to see him to buy a C-cassette, I'm not sure but I think it was one of those C-64-like data cassettes.

When suddenly! I notice I'm outside on the street in my socks. Oh this is terribly embarrassing, I have to go back to fetch my shoes. I'll be right back, I say to the others, and this girl who may or may not be my girlfriend tells me I'm really stupid for forgetting my shoes, I don't care. I'm going back to the building we came from but my shoes aren't there, I go out the back door and I'm suddenly in this large yard, and all the houses I remember from earlier from the dream (esp. the one where my shoes should probably be) that should be there, aren't there anymore. All the houses are now green, they're the kind of element-built 3-4 story buildings that were commonly made in the 70's-80's around here, except that they're all minty green. I'm trying to find the door number 6 (or 6b, I'm suddenly not sure anymore) because that's where my shoes should be, but it should be a red building, not minty green, and like I said now all the buildings are minty green. Even the one I came out of was minty green, even though it was red when I went in!

There are some kind of cypresslike trees growing in the yard, and I can see buildings numbered 4, 5, 8, 7... then I spot the #6 building which obviously has also the door number 6b but the building is also minty green! I'm never going to find my shoes at this rate.

Then I woke up and started thinking about this dream I just had. Why do I dream about buildings and cities so often? Is it my brains way of organizing data in some kind of variables which are easy to process by my type of brain? Like maybe it compresses a bunch of data into these buildings and then I can go in them and look at cities which are sort of like file systems, and the different green buildings are other archives that contain other file systems... wait no, that doesn't make too much sense anymore. Oh also, the card tricks were awesome, I wish those were possible in real life.

I was walking around imaginating spacial rotations and alternative ways to express them and such thought. Then I wondered why I was thinking about it, looked around me, and realised I had borken in and was rifling through my crush's appartment and my brain was keeping me busy so I didn't notice it.

That was a rather unpleasant dream.

Last night I dreamed I went to this old, abandoned church my great-grandparents and I used to attend when I was very little. I decided to do a paranormal investigation in there, mainly take pictures and try to capture EVPs (electronic voice phenomena, or "ghost voices", recorded on electronic recording equipment that is usually not heard in real time) at the church. I went in, and it was lit up like there were hundreds of candles around, in a yellowish glow. I then saw a lot of people in there, all wearing traditional Sunday Best (suits on men; long, flowing dresses on women, some wearing hats), so I decided to take some pictures. I got a lot of very good pictures of the place, with full-bodied apparitions (In paranormal investigation, capturing a full-bodied apparition is like finding the Holy Grail or Atlantis. A full-bodied apparition might appear as solid as a real person, but only captured on film, or in some cases, seen by the naked eye, and then gone in a flash.) all throughout the pictures. I thanked everyone for their time, and walked up the road back to the old farmhouse my parents and I lived in, giddy as a schoolgirl who didn't know what to do with her hands, due to the evidence I had apparently gotten. The next day I went back to the church, but it had been torn down, or burned down. It looked like it had been gone for ages, which was very odd.

Last night I had a series of realistic dreams about buying cars. None of the fun stuff tho' no test drives, no new car smell, nothing like that. I was sitting in a series of small rooms signing papers. First the dealership, then the dmv, then the bank. It was not really a nightmare, but definitely the worst parts of that process.

Wish I remembered what I dreamed last. I just remember waking up, and wondering 'wait, was that a continuation of a dream I had before, or did I dream about another dream?'

I dreamt I was getting married on an island that you could only reach by row boat. It was tricky getting off the boat in full bridal regalia, because my skirts were getting in the way. A few people had to help me out. Luckily I was wearing jeans underneath. When I got past the dock it was like entering the Madagascar section of Universal Studios Singapore. I lingered in the gift shop, wondering if I should buy a souvenir hat.

I told my sister about this and she said, "That's nice, did you tell [name of my fiancé]?" I said, No, because he wasn't in it.

I've had two Harry Potter fandreams in the last month. One was where Snape was being unusually concerned about Harry's safety, even going as far as to personally check every piece of food he eats. But it turned out he was right, because someone almost managed to give Harry a cursed pudding. Later he ended up living with Snape. Oh, and Harry had a daemon (as in His Dark Materials).

The other one was entirely from Harry's point of view. Ron and I had gotten in trouble for disclosing the existence of death eaters to the muggles, or disclosing the existence of good wizards to the death eaters (something like that, I don't really remember). Either way, the ministry was mad, and so was Snape. When, he yelled at us, he released angry fire from his body.

What can I say, the first one was definitely inspired by A Year Like None Other.

Also, is 'fandream' a word? Because it really should be.

I once had a Harry Potter-related dream years ago. I dreamed Harry, Ron, Hermione, and I were all standing on the side of the road. Hermione had just read in a book about how to fly without the use of brooms, and so we all tried it. The trick was to point your head upward, push off with your feet, and think, "Up!" the entire time. Sure enough, we were all up in the air, and she was demonstrating the correct stances for flying. There was one major rule: You had to stick to roads and pathways. In other words, you could only fly routes that ran parallel to any roads, pathways, etc. on the ground. You could not fly over trees, buildings, or any other structure. Doing so would cause you to start falling. We followed this main drag in this town I used to live in, until we got close to the high school I went to, and then we landed.

I think part of the basis for that dream was because I was in the middle of reading this book, which I still have, and may need to reread soon.

I was driving a tank around. This probably goes back to earlier in the day when I was looking online at a place where you can drive a tank around.

Edit: Think I had more tank dream last night. Also,

Was on the phone with my sister, talking to her about something. She joked with me and insulted me a little. Voice, tone, word usage, everything was perfect - not dreamlike at all. Felt like I was really talking to her. Then I woke up in bed, and wondered where my phone was, because it was just up against my ear.

Another dream, I was at a concert. I had a program, that was actually more like a ringed binder, with loose papers in it that were the songs being sung/played. I was trying to help someone follow along with the music, but was having a hard time finding the right page in the binder. Then the person became Victor Borge, and was singing and playing the piano, and I was helping with his music.

Steve Carrell was at a dating event, and met Jennifer Aniston there. She asked what he did for a living, and he jokingly said I think plumber. They talked, and she acted like she didn't know him. He finally said something like 'don't you remember me from xxxx' some movie they did together.

Then later they went back to his place, and it was more like a movie. He revealed that he was actually a photographer, and had all these amazing shots on his wall. They're talking and flirting, then she is someone else, and I'm Steve. Then the woman starts telling me about how she's actually still married, and recently got back with her husband after a break. Then I read her profile on facebook or okcupid or something.

I heard the sound of pee hitting the toilet bowl, and that's when I knew it was time to get up.

I had probably one of the most awesome dreams I've ever had last night.

I dreamed my mom and I went to Argentina for vacation. We went to this tiny restaurant popular with locals and tourists alike. The restaurant had a courtyard or garden that led out into basically the edge of a nearby rainforest. We had taken our dog, Bud, and he was with me, wandering around, and came across this creature that I could best describe as a cross between a sloth and a cat. The sloth-cat followed us around, and Bud was both curious and nervous at the same time. I took a couple of pictures of the courtyard, and noticed I had some wet leaves stuck to the camera lens. I was using both my dSLR and my media player for pictures. I looked out towards the rainforest, and saw a keel-billed toucan perched in a tree. I took one picture, but it looked away. It then noticed me and struck the perfect pose, with its body facing forward, but its head turned sideways. I snapped a couple of pictures. I went into the restaurant and ate some kind of barbecue beef-like stuff, with a roll or sliced bread.

This is the keel-billed toucan:

Image

The restaurant also had a popular bakery. While I was eating at the restaurant, a few people started showing up, mainly my mom and some of my coworkers. I moved up a couple of tables to a table that was more comfortable (wider span between seat and table), but left my bowl on the other table. A manager or someone got on the P.A. and announced that a fresh batch of bagels had just been taken out, and were ready for purchase.

I headed towards the bakery section of the restaurant. Sure enough, I could smell the fresh bagels. I told them I was more interested in the croissants. The cashier said they would be ready soon. Sure enough, a minute later out came the croissants. I wanted a whole bag of them (about 12), but it was going to cost about $150. I decided on just two or three. No, make that four! And a bagel. With cream cheese. The most interesting thing was I could smell the croissants and bagels. I could smell the cream cheese and watch it melt on the fresh, hot bagel.

Fuck. Now I want a croissant or bagel. Or both.

Anyways, my mom showed up, and gave me about $250 that my dad gave her for the trip. I bought my baked goods, then went to another part of the restaurant where I found some artwork. They were prints of some of the landscapes of Argentina. Picked out a couple of prints, and had it shipped back to my home. I stepped outside, and saw some more people I knew, from the local Brony group I'm in. They were all sitting out on the deck, on wooden benches built into the railing. One was lying on his side, screaming, while someone else was trying to comfort him. He had a huge gash on the back of his right leg, right below the right butt cheek. It looked pretty nasty.

When we got home a day or two later (short trip), my mom gave me some packet they sent me. She said something about the contents were what they gave every Argentinian, and it was coupons for different products and some other information. She said we were now honorary Argentinians. I told her about the toucan (I kept calling it a macaw), and how it had struck that pose. I told her it looked at me as if to say, "All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up." I also received my artwork I had ordered earlier.

While reading about croissants there I remembered I was getting food from a long table in my last dream. When I had some food on the plate I left that at the end of the table to fill my glass with water. When I returned with the water, someone had taken the cutlery from the plate "as a joke". So I had to go to the other end of the table again and there was more "fun" but I don't remember details.

I was showing an old computer demo to a friend, mentioning the filesize is a mere 28 K. After a minute the demo failed somehow (I forget but it probably froze the computer), and I checked the file which was less than 4000 bytes. Apart from a compressed corrupt/truncated file decompressing and running at all this was quite realistic.

Postby Brace » Fri Apr 05, 2013 3:39 pm UTC

I had a dream about, of all things, a Spice and Wolf movie. It was very fragmented so I don't have a whole story here. Kinda don't know how to feel about the fact I'm dreaming fan-fiction, and I don't seem to have much incentive to ever flesh this out given that it has such a nature.

Anyway, it was set in the present day. It started with a woman and a man leaving a college campus late at night, and the man asked her if she wanted to come back to his place and watch a movie or something. She looked ambivalent and uncomfortable and said no, she was just tired and needed to get home and rest. So the man got into his car and drove off and the woman started walking home. As she was walking through a secluded alley (!!!) a bunch of punks cornered her with the intention of doing very bad things. A homeless person in baggy pants and a hoodie was laying up against the wall, and got agitated by all the noise, shouting out for them to shut up because they were hungover. One of the punks shouted back at the homeless person, who then got livid and threw an empty beer bottle at them, hitting them in the face. The homeless person was very clearly intoxicated and had a bad sense of balance, so they struggled to stand up and in doing so were cornered. They grabbed the homeless person and pulled a knife on them, and peeled back the hood, only to discover they had wolves ears! The drunken bum is actually Horo. As is usual in a cartoon, the punks freak out a little bit but not much, deciding this is just a "freak" and that they're going to cut the freaks freakish ears off. So, Horo bites the one with the knife, and then transforms into her wolf form. Most of the punks run away, she knocks a couple out by throwing them against the wall, and the one with the knife she takes and hangs by his underwear from a street lamp. Of course, the girl who has been laying here this whole time, as one of the protagonists, is not completely incapacitated with fear by all of this, having some of her wits, and says thank you to her rescuer before passing out.

[a large period where I didn't dream of any story]

A fairly young businessman, in his late 20s or early 30s, is in a penthouse suite, consulting with various people, getting opinions, and issuing orders. Finally, he asks for the advice of his most trusted compatriot, who is of course cloaked in shadow. The compatriot appears to be fairly young though, and he is wearing a beanie cap and baggy cargo pants. He gives some sage but ominous sounding advice. Then we cut to outside on a commercial street where Horo and the girl are now walking along (of course), getting to know each other. It turns out the girl is a graduate student of mathematics who is researching the math of high level trading economics. In the window, a TV news anchor can be heard discussing the unprecedented rise of a certain company, and making a joke about how at this rate, they'll own all the money in the world.

[blank period]

Uncertainty and extreme emotions in the streets as aforementioned company has effectively put a plan into effect which allowed them to corner all global markets. A police officer (the police are semi-privatized in this world) is heard telling another one that he doesn't care about what some asshole with too much money does. His phone then vibrates, and he picks it up to see a text message telling him he's fired, at which point he breaks down crying. Governments around the world are consulting and trying to figure out the implications. They're being told that the global markets were cornered in such a way as to make it completely and entirely legal. A general suggests that it doesn't matter, they should just take the bastard down anyway. He's then told why that's essentially logistically impossible since all the resources necessary to meaningfully do so (fuel, telecommunications networks, etc) are under the control of the businessman, and also that the situation essentially creates a prisoner's dilemma when you factor into account the other nations; complete collusion would be required between nations, otherwise he will just pick up and move to another country, taking much of his wealth with him, and this latter part creates an incentive to defect which makes military action untenable since it would quickly devolve into global conflict and hence potentially a world war (and between nuclear powers, no less).

[blank period]

Using her advanced mathematical research and skills, and the sage advice of Horo, the girl has been able to gradually take back parts of the market from the businessman. She has just successfully pulled off some sort of gambit which was quite impressive, giving her more than 10% global share of all markets. As a result, she has been invited to come see the businessman. The businessman, interestingly, has medical staff and equipment on hand in his penthouse. Horo and the girl have gotten to know each other a little better, and there are small hints of more personal feelings in the relationship. This puts her discomfort at being asked home with the man at the beginning into context. When they get to the penthouse, they meet not just the businessman, but the advisor as well, who turns out to be another wolf like Horo (and they know each other). The businessman is unsurprised, saying it's doubtful that someone could have challenged his monopoly under different terms. He then explains how it was always his dream to have complete control over the markets, ever since he was very young and first learning about market principles. To him, since the market represents a mechanically objective assignment of value, someone who could corner it would be, by an empirical measurement, the greatest person ever to live. He offers a partnership to the girl, who after careful consideration declines. It is back to the game.

[blank period]

Market ownership is now split roughly 50:50 between the two conflicting parties, and appears to have reached an equilibrium; there are no other obvious plays to make, and significant amounts of resources are dedicated simply to locking each respective party out of the ventures of the other. The woman is invited back to the penthouse, where she's made the same offer as before; enter a partnership. She is deeply unsure this time, as she expected something to happen by now which hasn't, which calls her understanding of the market into question. Just as she's about to sign (!!!), suddenly an aid bursts into the room. "Sir, you've got to see this". Apparently, with large amounts of resources tied up in the two party conflict with each other, other investors and businessmen have been able to eek out incremental market share, and it has now reached a point where they are beginning to be able to fight for larger market share in earnest. A display shows in real time as a market which is forrmerly 50:50 begins to be partitioned more, and more, and more, until finally it resembles the distribution of market share that used to exist prior to all of this, with the two warring parties still having large, but hardly monopolistic market shares in the few areas where their actual comparative advantages exist.

The businessman smiles. He's not upset about the situation at all, as far as he's concerned his achievement has already been won, and was only lost because he met a superior businesswoman, something which also makes him happy since he no longer feels as burdened or as fundamentally alone. After all, the only other person to understand him and see his genius up until this point was a pagan god, and this made him unique among humans. The mathematical and applied economics achievements of the woman were what really allowed her to undo his monopoly, and were of human origin. Realizing the truth of this, the woman becomes happy as well. Suddenly, the man's heart monitor goes frantic; he is having a heart attack. He has had many of these, since a very young age, due to a congenital heart defect. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, he is dying. His advisor, the wolf, is standing by his side and comforting him. The businessman looks at peace, and then he dies.

Horo states that the other wolf must have really cared about him, and the wolf answers yes. She asks if he is troubled by his death. The wolf answers "Humans aren't meant to live forever. They are meant to achieve one moment of greatness and then to fade away before their achievement does." He says that the man now has two forms of immortality: his own achievement, and the memory of the wolf. Horo looks surprised, but ultimately satisfied with this answer, and pulls out a pocket sized, deeply faded painting. It shows her and Lawrence in front of a large shop, both looking happy and serene.

There is a long moment, and then she puts the painting away. As her and the woman are leaving, she joins hands with her.

Anyway, yeah, I am now dreaming fanfiction, complete with all of the things that make it bad. Pretty sure this makes me a lunatic.

I had a Transformers: Prime dream last night. Again. I have them quite often. Not complaining.

I was Jack Darby, and either the war was over and the Autobots were returning to Cybertron to rebuild, or a major battle was to take place off-planet. I think it was the latter because Megatron and Starscream were still around. Either way, we were all certain we would never see the Bots again.

It was actually a really sweet dream. I, as Jack, spent the entire day with Arcee, just talking and walking in the woods near the military base we were all at, fishing in a stream, reminiscing, telling each other how much we're going to miss the other and how much each means to each other. And then my/Jack's mom came and joined us, and we were this nice happy little blended family of mother, son, and surrogate-giant-motorcycle-robot-big sister.

Then it was time. We got up, hugged each other, and silently walked towards where the Spacebridge would be opened. I said goodbye to Bulkhead, Bumblebee, and Ratchet, gave Arcee one last hug, started crying, and shared a meaningful look with Optimus. Then Optimus Prime walked through the Spacebridge, then Arcee, then Ratchet, then Bulkhead, then Bumblebee. And before each of them disappeared, Miko shouted "I love you!", which started making everyone cry. And then they were gone, leaving three heartbroken kids and two pained adults.

Fast-forward a few months, and Arcee and Bulkhead are the only ones to return. Megatron's gone but Starscream and Airachnid are still loose, and I'm out for a ride with Arcee when it starts snowing in the desert. And then we stumble upon a clone of Arcee, who attacks us before running off. Arcee takes me back to the military base and goes out to look on her own, but the snow gets heavier and she nearly freezes to death before being dropped off at base by Starscream of all beings, but that's only because she had gotten too close to his hideout and if he had killed her, the people sent to recover her would have stumbled upon him. I'm with the recovering Arcee and discussing what comes next when I wake up.

Oh, and Smokescreen ended up being a traitor, which is fine by me. And Optimus Prime came to have a cult formed after him on Earth.

Last night I dreamed my friends and I were about to leave a building (supposedly at my uni, which none of them attend), but I needed to go to the toilet and led us into a lift, from the ground floor to the first floor. However, we searched for a while and couldn't find a toilet - we ended up walking out of an exit that led to the back of a primary school. One of my friends said something I can't remember now that was to do with milk, and another friend said I should write it down as a quote (which is what we used to often do with particularly funny things we said). Then I had a loud discussion with one of my friends as to how we should get home, with my friend suggesting the route I originally took home from uni and me suggesting the faster route I later switched to (which I have now actually stopped using in favour of an even better route).

Last night I dreamed I was Carrie. The only problem is that I have never read the book or seen the movie, so I filled in what very little I know with my mind. Basically, I was this little girl living alone with a crazy, over-protective, borderline-abusive mother, who only let me go outside in the early daylight hours or at dusk, and only if she was with me and only if I covered my face and carried around a parasol so no one could get a good look at me. I may have been a robot, because sometimes my vision would turn to that as your stereotypical robot perspective from movies, and I was able to replicate any sound I heard with pitch-perfect precision. And I had a playroom-slash-laboratory where I spent most of my lonely time.

I was in the vegetable and herb garden with my mother, when a Seventh-day Adventist (I specifically remember them being called that) and her daughter, who was my age, came up to our yard and tried to sell us some Bibles. My mom freaked out, and I was confused, because I had never seen a girl my age before. Or, really, anyone. And while my mother started shouting and cursing and throwing flowerpots at the woman, the girl just smiled at me, and I smiled back. They ran away after that, but it awakened something in me. For the first time, I was aware of other people aside from myself and my mother, and I wanted to know more. I started growing restless, and when I noticed the girl around my house a few days later, I snuck out of the house to meet her, and we became friends.

After a few weeks or so of secretly meeting my new friend, I snuck her inside my laboratory to do some tests, to better understand what a "friend" is. I eventually started replicating different pitches of sound, higher, lower, at different volumes, and this was causing her pain but I didn't stop.

And it killed her.

And nearly destroyed the house. And started calling attention to us.

My mother flies in, sees the girl's body, starts screaming at me, then calms down, carries the body out of the room, and then buries it in the garden. Meanwhile, I'm shocked and upset and I didn't mean to break her!

Because of the vibrations and reports of a possibly abused child, a scientific research team slash CPS investigative team comprised of Optimus Prime and Arcee (I'm noticing a pattern here), Clara Oswald, and Donna Temple-Noble (who works at CPS and no one knows isn't supposed to find out about aliens and the like, so she starts suffering headaches almost immediately upon seeing the robots) come to my house to investigate. (Come to think of it, I think all of this took place in Griffin Rock, so again, pattern.) Eventually Donna and Clara got me away from my mother for a while to ask me some questions, and I eventually admitted that I accidentally broke my new friend. They then have enough cause to take me away from the only life I've ever known, but I believe them when they tell me it'll be better that way.

Arcee and Optimus take a moment to lament something that I know forget, and then I wake up.

Last night I dreamed that I went to a learning center. For those outside the US, or have never heard of them, they're these for-profit agencies that are basically tutoring centers. One of the biggest ones here in the US is Sylvan. Anyways, I had entered the learning center because I needed to use a computer for some Interwebbing. Came across one classroom with a handful of kids working with touchscreen workstations, and there was a large TV in the room playing some cartoon. I walked down the hall, and on my left there was a lot of children's artwork pertaining to the PBS cartoon series "Arthur". Some of the artwork were scenes from different episodes, or a kid's rendition of an illustration in one of the books, with some kind of caption underneath, written by the teacher. One I remember distinctly is that of Muffy or Francine as some Victorian-style portrait. I then wandered a bit further, and went up to the attic space of the building. I found a handful of items that looked like real versions of the shoes or clothing from the characters from the "Arthur" series. I also saw a large trophy sitting on the floor, commemorating some honor or achievement. The trophy was about three feet tall, and had some of the characters of the books/show mounted on top, also in gold, each one posing some athletic pose, pointing in different directions, and all seeming jutting out from the platform they were mounted on, with what I could best describe as a streak coming from behind them. I came to the conclusion that Marc Brown, the author of the Arthur series, had the technology or tools that allowed him to traverse between our world and Arthur's world. It was like Elmwood City was a real place in an alternate dimension, and he would come back with stories about some of the events he witnessed, or else they'd come to him and tell him about it.

Last night, I dreamt my life was a Decemberists song - namely, Odalisque, a song about a dirt-poor, suicidal sex slave who undergoes nightly sexual tortures to take care of her children.

It was not a pleasant dream.

Something about finding mice in a piece of clothing on the floor, and trying to get my friend Catherine to chase them. Also, the mice may have been having sex.

You dreamt about mice, and I dreamt about cockroaches in my room. Cockroaches don't really scare me, but I was quite vexed because I had just cleaned my room two days ago to prevent this kind of thing.

Dreamt three times last night. Remembers bits.

1. Infiltrated a (cultist?) building. Used two items: a teleportation device and a disguise. Needed to disable five locations. Forgets their purpose. Grabbed something (likely a vital part, possibly a scroll) from each location. Succeeded at four locations. Started the fifth. Attracted attention somehow. Knew a disguise would be insufficient. Tried to teleport out. Failed. Attempted it several times before waking up in a panic.

(Happens fairly often. Gains some power. Activates it by instinct, somewhat. Feels like a groove, or snapping a puzzle piece into place. Involved clutching your shoulder to teleport this time. Remembers a targeting system by looking at something a certain way. Always loses it.)

2. Entered a large fast food restaurant. (Seemed popular to sit inside and eat.) Planned to only pass through. Decided to buy something. Waited in line while deciding what to purchase. Allowed others to push and cut in line.

Angered a supervisor-type. Sent the front few people to the back of the line. Followed them. Did not mind. (Had not decided still.) Received a direct reprimand and punishment from the supervisor-type. Struck someone, according to them. (Meant buying long after the line cleared. Wanted every customer, apparently.) Argued. Countered that they saw what they saw. Woke up upset.

3. Wrote a story for school. Forgets the topic. Guesses time travel. Impressed the teacher, despite not having an ending. (Kinda worked, supposedly.) Mentioned it in class (to some degree, but not reading it aloud). Wrote some vocabulary from the story on the board. Remembers "aphioric" and "dzjital". (Combined 'd' and 'z' like 'æ'). Asked if anyone knew the definitions. Estimated about one-third. Totally forgot their meanings. Looked them up before (though, probably not in-dream).

Ended before too much embarrassment, fortunately. Likes the look of "aphioric", also. Wanted that to be an actual word.
Changes its form depending on the observer.

Hmm... well, these haven't been last night, but lately I've been trying to lucid dream. Well, twice I have dreamt that I was lucid dreaming - in my dream I'm like "Wait! This is just a dream!", but I'm still completely unconscious. It's like my subconsious is trying to trick my mind into thinking that it's lucid when it's actually not, so I won't consciously realize it's a dream. It's really wierd. :|

I was in a class, and had to take the final. I think the class was calc, or something similar. The teacher told us the final was to redo our four worse quizes. I realized I hadn't studied or didn't know the material, but looked at my paper, and saw that I had gotten 100% on all my quizes. I went up and asked the teacher what to do, and she said to just pick any four.

Then later, the test was over, and went into this other room. Teachers and students were sitting in rows at desks, and playing a quiz like game. Patrick Stewart was one of the teachers, and was in about 3rd place.

Ah, last night I had a most wonderful dream, where I danced with Lisa Lambe on an empty stage as she sung this song.

Then my heavy cat woke me up at 2ish by standing on my ribcage, and then I dreamt I was taking the PSATs again.

I dreamt I was an agent for The Foundation.

An SCP was loose that had some connection to Abrahamic religious restrictions on dead animal corpses; if someone effected by a memetic virus saw a corpse, they went crazy, engaging in increasingly erratic acts culminating in ritual suicide. I came across the scene of a large outbreak - bodies everywhere, covered in symbols (which transferred the memetic virus), and I knew exactly what was going on. Fast forward to a house, I'm interrogating a suspect who I know is the source of the outbreak. I ask him where he's hidden "the scroll," and he directs me to his desk.

I pull out the sheet of parchment, and it's covered in symbols. I know that seeing them is a cognitohazard, so I roll it up without looking. But, I can't help but sneak a peek, and catch a glimpse of part of a fractal. I don't go crazy, so I think I'm safe. The cleanup crew comes in, and the breach is contained. Scroll locked away, report written, all's well and good.

Then, the guy I interrogated earlier shows up, but he's now luminescent, albino. He tells me that I'm infected, but that the true course of infection involves the subject going through a door - now, we're on a roof, and there's a door waiting for me. He puts a mass of coins in my hand - every coin will determine an outcome of my fate, heads or tails are marked with different symbols. I flip them all in one hand, and they have various outcomes, but one is a skull. Out of the door comes a shadow, and I'm dragged in.

I come to in a dark room, with a door ahead of me. Behind me is a cyborg-like creature, draped in a black cloak; its only two notable features are the glowing yellow eye-sac-orbs on the sides of its unseen head. This thing is here to hunt me. The door ahead opens up, and the hunter starts to groan and hum; I run. I'm trapped in a maze, and my goal is to get to a train depot at the end. The doors all have puzzles and odd obstacles to get through. Each door I enter slams shut behind me, and the hunter runs into it - he's literally right on my tail.

I get through the first level without a hitch, sliding out of the station with a sense of relief, only to come to a stop at the starting room again. The door opens, the hunter groans, and I'm off. Only, this time, the maze is harder, and more twisted - it takes longer to get underneath a crawl trap, the key is harder to find, but I still make it. But then, I come to a dead end - a window, showing the finish line ahead of me, but completely out of reach; the window has no way through, and I can even see the correct path in the maze from where I am. The hunter comes up behind me as I try to beat through the window, and I wake up kicking.
You can refuse to think, but you can't refuse the consequences of not thinking.

I was visiting my sister at the zoo. We were sitting and talking in this wood panelled room, with large glass windows into the hallway and customer area. Later, a woman walks by and I overhear she's upset. Her son is an intern at the zoo, and his evaluation was posted somewhere nearby and she read it - and it said he was pretty much terrible. Then I went back to the area where my sister works, and told her about that.

Last night I dreamt that I was swimming in the ocean, just off of the shore, and it was warm, sunny and empty of people. I swam far away enough from the shore that I couldn't see land anymore, until I found a giant, multi-story floating bouncy castle. I climbed inside and found just a few things: an inflatable raft and a waterproof bag. I lazed around in the castle for a few hours, staring up at clouds and birds, took a nap, then swam back to shore.

The next day I decided to see just how waterproof the bag was, so I slipped a book inside (the cover was white, black and red, so I'm assuming it was Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, even though I couldn't see it), and started swimming. When I found the bouncy castle again, I went inside and found the book was completely safe and dry, and spent the day reading in the sun.

The next day, I slipped my mp3 player inside and swam again. I spent the day in the castle singing at the top of my lungs, because absolutely no one could hear me. I didn't return to shore until well after the sun had set.

The next day there was a small storm, and I decided to take the raft instead of swimming. Everything was in shades of gray, white and blue. I napped in the bouncy castle, waking up every so often to listen to the sound of the rain hitting the plastic. When I woke up, the raft was gone, but I wasn't at all worried. This time it took me two days before I went back to real life.

This cycle continued for a while, with me escaping the real world to go stay for longer and longer stretches of time in the bouncy castle and being perfectly happy and content there until one day, I swam for hours but couldn't find it.

Oh, I didn't get until the end of that that she worked at a zoo... hey, it's a dream!
