Boy Thread: put a hat on ur butt

Postby sillybear25 » Sun Jul 15, 2007 3:00 am UTC

This is a secret manly treehouse for manly men to do manly things. Manlily.

Same rules as girls' clubhouse. Except genders are switched in the rules, and instead of periods and uterine chunks, it's manly stuff...

EDIT: This means that girls are allowed, contrary to what the title suggests. Just be warned that the thread may include discussion of any number of the following topics: penises, pubic hair, breasts, boobs, tits, hooters (The restaurant and/or the slang term. Probably not owls, but who knows...?), melons (again: the slang term, not the fruit), odd penile discharge, and several other topics which I cannot think of at the moment...

(created by request in the "Girls that are destroying your life clubhouse" thread.)

While a good idea in theory, male anatomy is simply not as interesting as female anatomy.

... If you're a guy.

This might actually be an excellent opportunity for the ladies of the fora to come out with any questions or concerns they might have about the male anatomy and the myriad mysteries (HAHAHA) contained therein. A reverse-engineer of the girls' treehouse topic. The more I think about it, the better an idea this topic becomes.

quick edit: And to think I was originally going to include a 'sausagefest' joke in this post. Huzzah for content!

ok guys i have one for you.

the ladder theory.

http://www.laddertheory.com/
http://www.intellectualwhores.com/masterladder.html

is it true? is it completely false? is it situational? i can never get a straight answer when i'm face to face with guy friends, probably because of their imagined painful repercussions of an honest answer. COMPLETELY imagined.

i guess i could ask girls too, but i want the guys perspective.

There are no girls on the internet!

Anyway, what features do you like in a girl?
Personally, just a little bit of belly fat is nice to see, sound weird?
Not like. "D" but more like ")"
It just shows that she doesn't conform to today's image and worry about her weight so much, which IMO is so cool.
And I'm quite partial to dark brown hair, long and shining.

1. I've never heard of that before.
2. Its not true at all for me. Not even a slight bit.
3. It makes me angry and disappointed.
4. I don't belong in this thread.

I am reading this laddertheory.com site, and to be entirely honest, it looks like an absolute load of bull with no basis except in social stereotypes regarding gender roles.

I will continue reading, though, for the sake of forming an educated opinion.

In re: ladder theory

It's a decent metaphor for interpersonal relationships. But in a similar way as "Sin crushes people against the earth, and the bigger someone is, the more sin they have" is a decent way of explaining why big people are heavy.

You would suggest, then, Owijad, that women are "supposed" to look like broomsticks with a total body fat content of less than one percent?

Because that is an suggestion that I would challenge with fervor to be matched by any female.

But was the heart still beating? Even though eating the entire thing whole is pretty rugged, a real man would make sure the heart was still beating and eat it and then devour the entire thing.

Ladder theory looks like bullshit to me. First of all, since when can I not be friends with someone just because I'm sexually attracted to them? I have this handy thing, right, called self-control? It's neat.

Actually I don't see much reason to look further into ladder theory. I feel pretty safe dismissing it from the first few pages I read. Favorites and ladders are for people who think in one dimension.

I refute it with having several female friends that OH MY GOD I WANT TO SEX. But that doesn't get in the way of friendship.

Yes. I got to watch my Significant Other go off with someone else. At the time they told me, I was crushed, but I honestly just wanted them to be happy.

I'm still hurt by how things worked out if only because I really did think things were working out well, but I still love... even if that love isn't returned.

Exactly. Outside of my own head, sleeping with the girls around me is not a terribly realistic proposition, so it very rarely enters into my consideration of their worth. I'd like to think it wouldn't anyway.

Hey guys! Glad you have your own thread. I was wondering something... I've talked with various very honest, introspective male friends about this, but I always like hearing different perspectives.

Basically, when you're growing up, men are sort of presented as hyper-sexual, like they always just want to get laid. There's actually a huge amount of pressure when you're a teenage boy, not just to have sex, but to *want* to have sex, and to want it all the time.

Granted, biology means a lot of teenage boys (and girls) do want sex a whole lot of the time. But I've talked to guys who, especially when they got a little older and were actually having sex regularly, felt strange because they just didn't care about it as much as they thought they should. And guys who said as teenagers they felt strange because they didn't just want to get laid--that they weren't interested or weren't ready for whatever reason.

So I guess this is me saying it's all more complicated than people think, which is what I usually say. But I was hoping some of you guys would chime in a little...

i blame society for creating ideas of what guys are always after.

however personally, i think men are entirely driven by girls to the way they are. i used to think guys were jackasses, till i understood how some women acted and it's entirely too easy to see why its just easier to pursue sex.

right now i'm somewhere in the middle. I want to have sex, but I'm not here to just fuck with anyone. its a mutual deal friend or girlfriend.

Where I come from there is a large amount of farmer's kids/red blooded males, and a large amount of religious folk. I know a lot of guys that have a lot of sex, at parties and stuff, and a lot of guys that would like to but won't risk getting kicked out of the church. But we don't talk about stuff like this, being real men, so I'm (as usual) not a lot of help.

1. I never felt pressure to *want* to have sex. Never. Not even once.
2. I've never felt 'strange' for not feeling ready or not being that interested, etc.
3. I don't belong in this thread.

That's totally true, but it's best if you just be honest. In 7th grade we did this poll in health class and I was the only guy who voted not to have a three-some, because I thought it would be hell of confusing. Most guys I'll bet only voted for a three-some because guy's should LOVE SEHKS.
