Mine would probably be whenever I listen to "My Best Friends" from that Pokemon album, or watch that episode where Ash loses his Butterfree. I... I cried the first time I saw it.

I've said this in another thread, but Band of Brothers is the piece of media that's brought me the closest to crying. Sounds strange, but if you actually sit down and really watch the series, it's one of the saddest things you'll probably ever watch (of course, all of it compounded by the fact that it actually happened).

Oh god yeah! Band of Brothers is amazingly filmed, but utterly sad.

Even if it were true, that's only 2,000 (or less) years ago. The practice obviously originated long before Christianity if it was known by the time Genesis was written.

I'm not circumcised. There's no good reason to cut off random parts of your body, with the exception of wisdom teeth, I suppose. Although circumcision does reduce the likelihood of transmitting HIV, I hear, and is thus getting popular in Africa.

If that line from Genesis were true, then I think it's be close to 3,000 years ago. Also, there is good reason to cut out the wisdom teeth, as they are (usually) crappy teeth (I seem to be an exception there, thus I still have mine).

As for circumcision reducing the likelihood of transmitting HIV, that can't be right. Doesn't make sense how removing the foreskin lessens the transmission of a disease whose vector would be the semen (in this particular case).

If you're going by a Biblical timetable, Jesus was 2000 years ago and Genesis was the beginning of the world. Also, I didn't offer up that verse as utter truth, I offered it as an explanation as to why people do it, and how they explain it themselves. It's something that might have happened because there was religious doctrine indicating it to be of some import. Whether that was created by people as an explanation or came directly from God is no real matter. Really, my point was that it was so long ago that it's as good a reason as any as to why it's practised.

I'm confused as to this a little, so let me get my facts straight:
1) Judaism practices circumcision, based on the above
2) Christianity does not, because Abraham evidently heard God wrong
3) Judaism only believes in the truth of the old testament in the bible, while Christianity believes in both old and new
That right? If it is, I hope it clears some things up a little (albeit not much).

I cried back in March when I had to go home after visiting a certain girl 1,000 miles from home.

It was the first time we'd seen each other and quite honestly leaving her there at the airport crying was one of the hardest things I've done in quite some time.

The good part is that I've visited her a second time since then and she'll be visiting me soon. :D

Shit i didn't even cry when i stuck my hand in a radiator that was running.

sure i was in a fuckton of pain and i needed 16 stitches, but i was seeing spots, and felt really dizzy. Shock maybe? (i got to keep all my fingers, intact and in working order yay!)

I cried once when i was 8 and i was getting on a plane with my 6 year old brother to leave my mom and go back to live with my father. (court decision)

That routine continued until i was 17. I didn't cry after that, because my little brother never stopped crying, one of us had to be clear headed in case something happened.

And how. Similar vein - run over by a tractor (broken leg, tons of stiches, etc) no crying. Before the tractor got off of me, I was under the wheel yelling at the driver to 'get the fuck off.' I then tried to walk (bad idea) just to emphasize the pain a little more. Now, I almost vomited when I looked at my leg when they were cutting it up/stitching it up, but there wasn't ever a point when I was even close to crying.
I don't think I've cried for physical pain-related reasons in decades (being only 23, this signifies most of my life).

Emotional things however, yes. I last cried at my grandmother's funeral, although that wasn't triggered until my mom/grandfather/aunt got up and were speaking, and faded shortly after.

I'm not sure when the last time was that I cried over physical pain. Since I can't remember, I'm fairly certain that it's been a while.

As for emotions... the second visit (with my girly friend from above) also involved some crying. The emotional part of a funeral that we attended just got to me. I wasn't sad, just overcome with emotion. It was difficult listening to the immediate family members crying.

I find that with funerals, I don't seem to get emotional at all until I see family members being emotional. I usually don't shed tears but I do get choked up and really sad. I did shed tears at my grandfather's funeral, after the mass, as the hearse was driving away (down a LONG straight street in a small quiet village, where everyone was at the service) the imagery and the loss combined and tears were shed.

I've cried recently from physical pain but only because some oaf elbowed me in the nose (not broken!) and that seemed to trigger tears.

Well, I cry a lot... More correctly, I sort of start to tear whenever there is a strong swing of emotion (even crap fake stuff).

I used to be much worse. I used to not be able to sing a song without breaking out in tears over some pain I saw in the lyrics.

I swear I know its 100% physically impossible but I seriously feel I have Shark Week(yes I am a man, I just double checked and I do have a sack with two balls and a bat hanging between my legs). Yeah, pain doesn't so much make me cry these days. Just scream fuck a lot. I noticed that when I sprained my ankle in January. I just sat in the stairwell pounding on the wall and screaming FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FU-UCK! Until my housemates showed up.

You know, Rat really wasn't all that bad. But then again, I'm taking that from the fact that he and I talked on AIM. I guess just from what he posted here, he was pretty bad.

Anyway, I have a friend Kyle who cries all the time. Not over important things or even stuff like a movie or song. For example: we got high one time (Kyle, Kymi, Jesika and myself) and Kyle had an enchilada making kit thing. Kymi, Jesika and I used it to make tacos and he cried because he couldn't have enchiladas. Moral of the story: don't be like Kyle.
