Is there any link to the newest comic? Something like "http://www.xkcd.com/newest.png"? I'm working on a page to use for my homepage, and I want to have the newest one on it, but it'd be pointless if I had to manually reset it. Anyone know of this?

Don't hotlink to the comic, that's being a dick.
Just make a script to imgur the frontpage comic now and then. ("if previous
http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/*.png is not found on the page then search for a new png, host it, update link").

What's wrong with direct linking? I'm the only one who will load it, it's not like it will bring down the server.

Is there a reason you can't just go to the actual XKCD site?

Etiquette?
Now, by 'homepage' do you mean your website homepage, or do you mean a custom page that you're using as the first page your browser loads on new window/tab?

First page my browser loads :P. Between the following, I see nothing wrong with this:
1. He makes all comics direct-linkable specifically so people can hotlink them, it'd just be more convenient to see the newest one, rather than one in specific.
2. If I could set xkcd.com as my homepage either way, a hotlink to the image would use equal or less bandwidth.

Can you not just push the rss feed on to your homepage?
