Why are there no mods in General (at least when I'm online) at about 9pm GMT? I'm not saying it's a bad thing (some of the spam's interesting to study [Yes, that's an invite for porn comments, although you know fine well that's not what I mean {or do I...}]), but is that a blind spot on the timeline of the xkcd day?

The mods'll swing around soon, they always do.

Except for those fun times when there are no mods on the fora at all! What I like to call:

PARTY HOUR!!!

Just edit your posts back when you're done, and you can plan to overthrow the mods all you want!

I mean, um, praise the mods in a way that won't embarrass them.

EDIT: Hey, one of those times is now!

I don't want to overthrow the mods, I know for a fact that they're armed, and like stabbing.
Instead, in PARTY HOUR!!!, I will bounce in my chair.

*bounces in chair*

Right, that's me done now.

We actually recently had a discussion amongst the mods and it was determined that most of us hide our online status most of the time. Surprisingly there is usually at least one mod on. I'm on here quite a bit, though I don't respond in a lot of threads and hide my status so it's hard to tell whem I'm on.

11AM EST and there's four spam threads in General. I demand modship so I can delete them.
Here is a link to a page which leverages aggregation of my tweetbook social blogomedia.

I wonder if the infinate monkeys theorem applys to spambots randomly generating spam. Although id be hesistant to say its a good thing that the next great piece of literature was randomly generated by a spam bot advertising viagra.

Heh.

You know, mods, have I ever mentioned just how awesome you are? Because you are! You are incredibly awesome, worshipful, messianic, presumably crazy hot people. I have started a cult in all of your names. Just thought you might want to know.

I'd grow very suspicious after such a post. ;) But then again, that's just me.

I think we're expected to click his "www" button, for the website he listed in his profile. It's quite good promotion, to be honest; I'm almost tempted.

Wow. That's a really cool one. I like that. A lot. Even where the text isn't links, it's colored to look like them. It's as if they DIDN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW THEY WERE LINKS, SO THAT YOU CAN'T CLICK ON THEM!

I'm always tempted to want to give back links to the spammers in a very futile attempt to "spam" them. That actually makes no sense, but i always want to give more links in rebuttal.

What the hell does "intodianouH" mean? I've seen several spam threads with this title now. Googling it just turns up a deleted xkcd thread. The capital H at the end suggests it's written backwards, but "Huonaidotni" makes me no sense either.

One has just popped up called "Naked celebs, free nude celebs, free nude celebs"

I wonder if they come individually wrapped or if you have to buy them in "Naked Celeb" booster packs. You can imagine the dissapointment now:

"Aww, another Courtney Cox, I wanted an Angelina Jolie."

I just saw a thread about how parents want sex education taught in schools. It even cited statistics on how most american parents felt about it. Then at the bottom was a list of links, the topmost of which was "Lesbian Blowjob"

I was so lulled into a false sense of security that i almost clicked it. I came this close.

There's a new one talking about a cat and trying to get it house trained, then at the bottom a link to a car engine website. Is it possible to be any more random?
