Need Help Naming Game

Postby GMThomas » Wed Mar 12, 2008 1:24 am UTC

Hey foramites...

I am coding an MMORPG and I need help coming up with a name.

It takes place in the modern time, in a society similar to ours. It is a 2d top-down shooter. There is a war taking place between two nations and a rebellion attempting to overthrow their oppressive rule.

Any ideas for names? Try to stay away from * Online... And it can't be really dark, either. You can do a lot, from fighting to a job, so it can't be totally related to violence, although it should be.

Thanks!

EDIT: "Nations in Flames" is my temporary name

Viva La Revolution?

How about "Shoot stuff"?

I almost have a good one. It is floating around in the back of my mind... I will find it.

Lifematch (Cross between life and deathmatch, but probably sounds too much like a dating service)
Carbon (As in the primary element of all organic matter, and carbon copy)
Two (The number of sides, ideal if there isn't really a "Good" vs "Evil" game. Also ready for the sequel, Three, which introduces a third side.)
73, de KE8BSL loc EN26.

And Deus Ex doesn't sound anything at all like the phrase "Deus ex machinina," which has probably been said more times than people have recognized the game Deus Ex.

I do art and graphics, both outside the game and for the game, so haha, it's still up to me.

"Three" is kind of iffy.

haha oh well in that case i kinda like the idea of something along the lines of 2 or whatever someone said (side note: i am too lazy to scroll down and check if someone actually said this or not and if they did who it was). try to develop that

Some semi-random string might work. Zzyzx was an arcade game. Just find a planet with a weird name and name your game after that.

Lol, I'm reminded of a seminar on sound design for computer games I was at this thursday. One of the speakers showed us what he was working on. When he opened up the GUI for his program, it said above all the buttons and fields, and in large letters "Mega fedt lyd tool", which is a mixture of Danish and English meaning Mega cool sound tool. Alas, it was only a working title.. :)
