Website construction freeware.

Postby Buddha » Thu Apr 08, 2010 3:35 pm UTC

I need something simple to replace AOl Press 2.0, which came out over a decade ago. It's for someone over forty who has minimal computer experience, and has hearing trouble, so I cannot stress enough the importance of simple. One of the major concerns is the ability to format pictures on his site, and host videos. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.
Unless otherwise explicitly stated, I not a recognized authority in any field, nor am I a credible source.

If you really want simple, you might as well go with HTML generated by Word or Powerpoint. It gets the job done.

I was going to suggest MS Sharepoint Designer, which is free now, but I would hardly call it simple.

Or are you looking for a good content management system you can install on a server?

Word HTML is pretty awful, overly comples and liable to break. OpenOffice is free and makes a reasonable job of it.

NVU is free and in many ways similar to DreamWeaver. I also recommend; Alternative to , where one can find alternatives to many software across all platforms..
