Blender OpenCL problem

Postby Aldarion » Mon Apr 23, 2012 4:01 pm UTC

Hi All,

I've been wanting to try the new Cycles renderer with my old but trusty ATI Radeon 4560 (with OpenCL, of course, not CUDA).
But Blender seems to require OpenCL 1.1, while I have OpenCL 1.0 .

What do I have to do to upgrade my OpenCL version, and why is Google being so vague about it?

Thanks.
I'm not good, I'm not nice, I'm just right.

It would appear that the HD 4500-series only supports OpenCL 1.0, I can't post links yet, but the AMD APP SDK website has the information you need.

So, to upgrade your OpenCL version, you need a new video card.

Yes Rulzern is correct about ths. You would need to get a new video card to upgrade the OpenCL version. I actually had to do this myself for this reason.
