As to the sandstone I still don't have the recipe, so you're not stealing anything from me. I think Fitz probably has the recipe so you two can split the cutting if you can both gain skill from it.

Go right ahead with the sandstone monoliths, I'm working on extracting the last sandstone boulder, chen who do I need to talk to about getting that high extraction pot so I can grab the lanferite boulder? I need a 4.4 extraction or better to pull that lanferite

I'm now going to make it. And use my inscription on it. And name it something like "Spite Idol"

And probably send it to Tree, eventually.

I can make you something if you know what you want and are willing to pay. Or check out Leska's thread.

Will cutting sandstone monoliths not increase your stone skill and therefore your extraction?

Didn't I see a domane pickaxe as a quest reward somewhere in lanfar?

Yes but you can pick up a free domane pickaxe from the royal mine quests. Loses a few points over superior odie, but it's cheaper.

Corrected a minor error in Giant Plains Factory section in shared doc: 100 towers are 3000 blocks not 2000. And I am not sure the number of sandstone blocks that we have is what is written there, because I see 0 in factory domain (after Morlet took some for making towers).

The number was both blocks and lumps. Last time I updated it I counted everything in storage plus what my alt had in their bags. Its possible people have been taking lumps to cut or blocks to make towers/walls. I was tracking it that way so that we could see when we could stop our companions from extracting (since you can produce the lumps faster than they can be cut).

Ok so we're doing pretty good with the new metal factory components. After my boss run tonight I'll use the remaining time on my horn to move the two monoliths from the quarry to the factory so they can be cut.

I'm also going to pick up the 5 gold ingots we need tonight for the new engineering desk. I still need 2 more Volrizier glass to have the desk made though. Deva has sent me some and I believe Chance (Grop) did as well. Once we have that desk I will have high enough skill to make the high furnace (66).

The next expensive thing is the new forge. It takes 20 azulio wood and 10 nocturial leather. Fitz has started killing Wyvernus too so both me and him can contribute some leather. There are 13 people in guild who can contribute to this (didn't count Seymarr since he hasnt been on for at least a week now or Wulgar who had just started) I believe, and we already have 4 pieces of leather for the guild. I don't mind putting in 2 pieces of my own. We can see what Fitz would like to contribute. The remaining pieces though will need to be purchased from me (or the market if someone is selling super cheap or something). Normal price seems to be around 400-500g, but for guild stuff I'll sell em at 300g. So we have 4 pieces minus Fitz contribution that'll need to be split among the remaining 11 people. Next we have the azulio. It requires 20 pieces. We have none that is allocated to the guild right now. These are easier to obtain and people have been selling them. Cost per person is therefore around 1.5 pieces each, which is around 187-225g (depending on the deals we could find).

So even if Fitz contributes 2 pieces of Nocturial leather to this forge fund, we're still looking at ~250g per person if we want that that new forge made. Note that we don't have to put this forge in the new factory. In fact it'd likely be a better idea to dismantle the existing factory and rebuild it with the super forge there, since its in a much more accessible location than the Giant plains up near the Den (you CAN get Ruiner encounters in the Giant plains and that'd just be obnoxious if you got hit with one in the middle of a queue). I'd suggest we leave the giant plains factory with a shitty forge and prospecting machine, and a decent enough foundry machine to let us just use that spot to break up Kryanite clusters. So the main crafting forge will be down in Hawkoria and the cluster breaking forge in the Giant Plains, unless there's something I overlooked.

If we do the above, we can wait a bit on the forge. I don't know how long it will be until someone hits the 40 reputation with the house that has the Azulio plank recipe, but that might cause the price on planks to crash (since apparently logs are obtainable via commerce, though I've yet to see one). It also gives people time to get their combat skills in order and possibly go gather azulio/nocturial themselves which would help with those costs which some may find too high.

I think this is a good idea.

I'm in a bit of a bind money wise, so may need someone to spot me the funds for the noctu leather for now. I'm hoping to sink that cash into a mine to finally get some workers back to earning their keep. That said, I'm overly flush with domane, so can probably juts move some of my inventory.

Yea, I'm still getting underway, I'm just about to get Yrean I think. I don't really have much to contribute but firewood at this point. Valerian mentioned its useful for festivals, so I've been putting in most of what I get from logging.

I've been messing the number up by adding and taking lumps and blocks willy-nilly. I'm quite sure we have more than enough lumps between the lot of us now though, so you can stop extracting.

Grop/Chance made me an extracting pot for the lanferite boulder (thanks again!), but I kind of miscalculated my skill and I'm not quite to 58 yet. The easiest way to get there is to increase my stone skill from 58 to 60 by cutting sandstone boulders (difficulty 55). So I'd like to cut at least one of the last two boulders unless anyone else needs the skill up.

Yup can always use firewood. The lesser meats (hare, cervid, boar, bovine) are also needed for the festival. To know how much we need each festival action takes 50 of each meat and 2000 firewood. You can see how many actions are left by noting the number of Rhumbular mandates that are still in the storage. I believe the next festival can only be started in about 15 days or something (maybe a bit less).

Yeah no worries about the numbers being that much off. I've stopped extracting except with a couple of laborers just in case. I think only you and Fitz can cut those monoliths so let him know to leave ya one if you want. I think he's also halfway done extracting the Lanferite boulder too.

Right. But we weren't planning on transporting kry from the den down to Hawkaria were we? Are we putting up a placeholder factory?

Yes but with a cheap forge...which is exactly what you said you agreed with when I mentioned it before. Hence us having time before we have to make the super expensive forge out of the azulio/nocturial stuff.

Yes exactly. We won't take it apart until we have the proper noctu forge and all the components to immediately put it back up (marl walls and towers). We don't want to be without a solid factory.

Also sorry, adam, hit me up in game, I started cutting lanferite boulders with a 55 stone skill, curious what your other combinations are, Id like to cut at least one of the sandstone monoliths, and Im thinking I might extract more just to gain some stone levels, still working the numbers on that though.

My Stonesounder is maxed at 42 and my jewel is 4.4, so I assume those relatively low stats are why you can extract it already while I can't. I should probably upgrade my jewel and/or balm my stonesounder but it's so incremental yet expensive that I'm having trouble motivating myself. ;)

Even though we don't need me to extract the lanferite boulder, I'm still going to do it for the skill ups. It's 13 points higher than the next highest extracting action I can do!

Thanks to Deva's monetary donation and Fitz contribution for Noct leather (only need 2 from you), we have our 10 pieces of that. We also have about 10 pieces of azulio as well. I will send out a mail in game with the amount of stuff/gold I'll need from each of you to finish the forge.

I also got the final 2 Volrizier glass from Biliboy and got the engineering bench assembled and put into the guild factory if no one noticed (its 59 skill now). This will let me create the high furnace once we have the monoliths cut. It's interesting to note how little value making parts into a bench actually adds to vendor price. The final vendor value of that bench was 514g, yet it had five 99g gold ingots in it. Which means that 10 volrizier glass, 5 oceanite, 20 melandrin + construction added less than 20g to the total value of the item.

Some good info here. Though I cringe at the cost of that dig site. Deva, have you made an academy that would let you balm a boar? If not what kind of lithosnow/palpable pieces of structure do you have lying around (if any)? Apparently the cheap way of making an academy was due to a bug and that bug was fixed in the last patch meaning the academy thats palpable dome/towers/fort and the rest marapis no longer hits the 67 needed to max out a boar (though if you had made it before it was grandfathered in I believe).

My herbalists aren't quite set up right for pot making, but almost. Just need to twerk the skaves' herb gatherings for the optimum binder/herb/herb setup. But anyway, I now have enough pots for my main to actually do runs and try to get injured enough for the new armor, and so I'll have plenty of pots for you soon. I figure each herbalist can make 22 31/6 pots a day, I can only use 20 or so a day, so that's plenty to spare.

Speaking of alts, my hunter now has 100 dead barkheins and varanuses but can't cut them. Anyone want to sell me a good idol, or should I just make a bunch of hq iron blades?

Do you have an idol and if so, what's it's strength?

If you don't, just get me a marble lump and I'll make you a 33. Or that 41 Spite Idol I was rambling about that I still haven't gotten around to doing because holy crap, flowers and that's a bird I can hunt and wait I need jewelry stuff and now it's time for hemp and what was I doing?

I have a marble block or two. I'll give you one and pay you with the other?

Also, I need a stonecutting idol for my stonecutter; tired of using iron chisels for marapis. I mean it's still a massive profit (the marapis is 'free') and I make 41 a session, so it's like 70g a day (if I sold them for 1g each) but with idol and discount chisels it'd be more like 75-80g.

Next project is getting my last alt shortblade mountain slave camp for moar iron; the other one doesn't produce enough by himself. If I'm making steel, idk if I need to move my woodworker to a better location. I think I want to switch from maple frameworks to oak eventually, though that means I need yet another idol for my woodworker. At least my herbalists can gather the binders they need, and my smiths/fashioners can just use the guild forge...

The idol for cutting stone and the idol for cutting up bodies is the same; Sair. That's the reason those idols are so expensive, mechanical strength is used for many things. Any of your alts that are doing random annoying labor (cutting bodies, cutting stone, cutting logs) are going to want a sair talisman and idol. Odds are you wont need the 50/5 ones but a 33 idol and 3.3 talisman help a ton and are fairly cheap. Only if they're going to be cutting the extremely high end stuff (gurdismo, simblior, catoblepasses/walhein etc) will they need the super high end idols/talismans.

Also remember to keep some marapis for yourself. You need a hell of a lot for your Den Inn and for your future academy/school. Not to mention any quarries/mines/lumberjack camps you want to setup in the Den.

Also you can buy unlimited amounts of salt as a binder at Pebble bridge. With a decent enough mill you probably wont need super strong binders for your everyday potions.

None, not counting aforementioned structures. Still owns enough Lithosnow for a dome (or close). Possesses about sixty Palpable.

Never built an Academy. Bought the Stone of Knowledge. Prepared the land (almost). Prepared some balms for companions (not Boarserker). Stopped there. Needed the stoneworker for higher priority things, such as a Den Inn (current task), structures for Norstria, a school for Stone-sage, another Giant Plains store, Anthracite mining, and Odiemel mining/processing. Sees no point now. Will be unearthing artifacts for weeks soon. Requires no balms.

Yeah but at the moment I can have 2 slaves on sandrietta, 2 slaves on cascardent, 2 slaves on that other herb, and have more herbs than I can go through. Plus the occasional bonus slave, and whatever, and extra herbs left over from when I'm training herb rather than making pots (use up a +2 herb pot, make hard pots, go back to healing vials). I could add a decent stove to both of my alts' locations if I wanted to, but if have to make a lot more materials for the outdoor workshop. Currently using Maliken (20 20) for pot making, but the ones my main can make are like 40 20; better for training but not cheaper binders.

And those are useless to Idol Making.

Lumps. Lumpy lump lump. One Marble Lump + Parts I stashed in the Archeology Lab + a 10 Strength Resin + 1 Hour = 33 Sair Idol

I have a simbiliar lump from an AFK fight with lithandros. Useful? Valuable?

Gotcha. No problem I've got my polymath and stone sounder extracting palpable for me. I'll make a test bunch of pieces and let people know about the academy for a boar.

Wasn't talking about a machine with strength, you'd want a machine + mill to get the best results. I don't generally make workshops in Lanfar though unless there's exceptional circumstances. I usually keep workshops in Hawkoria where you can make them entirely out of vendor parts. Loudthunder can probably be made with mostly vendor parts too though. If you switch over to vendor bought binders for your mass supply potions you can switch those slaves to cascardent and do the 40 cascardent turn in at the hospital every day (for example). Sure you'll want some high strength binders on hand for the expensive potions, but you generally don't mass produce those.

@Izzy: Simblior is used for some machines but I don't think its used for too much else (maybe some jewelery pieces and/or trims). It's also a real pain in the ass to cut since it's got very high mechanical resistance.

Indeed, all my workshops are in Loudthunder and were made of vendor parts. I actually dismantled a few workshops in Hawkoria and relocated them there.

There is one marble lump at factory domain, and I can mine for more if that is useful (because that isn't complicated at all).

Also ST, can you make ghur idols? I could use some conconction strength. And I have a lithostone lump, if that helps.

I think I have a lump or two as well as resins. I'll get those to you...
