Have you registered an account there?
If you have then post in the Mask Requesting thread so I know who you are and that you've joined. Or if you've done all that and I've missed it then tell me what your username is so I can sort it out. Don't just join and expect me to know who you are and let you in (if you've used a different name, that is).

Ok, I'll get on that sometime soon.

Hiya! Just wanted to let you know that I've applied for the private forum (I suppose it's easier for you to see my name on this topic, rather than searching through the members DB). I'm not sure how active I'll be with the politics (I've got my exams these days), but hey, at least you'll have an extra endorser (I'm in the UN already)!

In other news, I seem to use parentheses a lot (no idea why)...

Reminder to everyone signing up that you really should join the UN. Otherwise you're not really playing.

The Senate elections are over, meaning the first term of the Senate has begun. To what depths will they drag our precious region? Only time will tell.

I remember first playing NationStates about 8 years ago. Quite surprised to see it's still running with a fanbase [I wonder if anyone's still on their original account from God-knows-when it started]. The nation I started up tonight (The Disputed Territories of Shakalak) is the 3rd account I've done I think.

Added a new description to try and point out what really makes the game so interesting and fun, let's try and get some more xkcders playing this. We only have a hundred players out of like a billion and a half fora members here, guys.

I think a hundred members is not bad going. Consider that the forum has around half a million posts, while active members tend to average at least a couple of hundred posts each. Ignoring the fact that not all posts are due to active members, that gives an upper bound of perhaps a couple of thousand active members. I suspect that the actual number, depending on your criteria, is somewhat lower than this. Of those active members, how many would be likely to visit the gaming subforum, see this thread and decide to sign up and join (and stick with) the game and the region? 5% or so (probably more) is not that bad.

We may have a population of 100, but our initial invasion forces always struggle to even hit 12 or so, leaving us vulnerable if any defenders notice before the switch.

We could make threads in other sub forums here, each one about NationStates but all relevant to the sub forum that it is in.

Basically, we have a simple plan: Taking over the world. That we should try this was obvious from the start. We have decided to do this by military conquest, gaining permanent power within a region, and then letting the natives go on much as they always did (sans rebellious elements).

Clearly this is totally awesome. But to strike populated, well-named, popular regions takes more than good planning; some of it comes down to pure numbers. With our current population, we only have the forces to take over smaller regions. Hilarious? Yes. But world take-overy? Sadly, no.

That's why we need YOU. If you don't want to take part in the espionage, politics, and planning, then all you really need to do is spend two minutes signing up, and then less than a minute invading each target when ordered (once a week or even less). It's a free, text-based game. You have to click like two links to invade. It's not exactly draining.

For less than 30 seconds a week, when people cry out "fuck thoz fuckin xckd fuckng fuckrs fuckfuckfuck!!11!", they could be talking about you. Think about it.

I made my shitty little Natural Individualism state, with very good civil rights, a reasonable economy, and excellent political freedoms. then I made another called Tingleberry Nation... and it has superb civil rights, a good economy, and superb political freedoms. WHAT SHOULD I DO!? I already applied to the UN with my Natural Individualism one, and I signed up for XKCD under N.I.!

You can resign from the UN and sign up again with another nation.

But many people have their "main" nation non-UN, anyway. You're allowed as many alts as you like as long as only one at a time is in the UN.

What about the forums strictly for XKCD? And I hate the name tingleberry. I just wanted to see what else I could get. Who knew libertarians were so... free... Whatever. I'll do that.

You're welcome to join the region, feel free to bring along the rest of your region if they're keen.

Of course, this is assuming you're not bringing along any baggage. If you're at war with another region or something we'd have to be consider the situation carefully.

Well, your into (onto?) the forum but it seems that our plans may have been scuppered by game creators themselves. It'll be a terrible shame if under the new rules we're unable to expand our empire.
