Two days from now, Valve burns down.

Does anyone understand what the flying fuck the new game mode is supposed to be?
My first guess is that it's like a reverse CTF, where you have to take something from the center of the map and deliver it to the enemy's base. Then I thought it was like the finale of Dead Center in L4D2, and they have to run around the map picking up fuel to bring to their own rockets.

It's clear that it involves a briefcase, and some kind of elevator, probably part of a payload. So some kind of CTF/payload hybrid?

The impression I got from the description was that it's kind of reverse ctf-y except the briefcases have to be taken to a lift to the rocket in the centre of the map. The lift then moves really slowly but, seeing as one of the pics for one of the achievements is called "cap-ogee" and has a load of people on the lift, I'm guessing the lift, like capping a point moves faster the more people you have.

New page is up for day 2.

Looks like a load of new workshop items.

Spoilered for saying where an Easter egg is:
Spoiler:
There's also some illustrations from "soldier needs a home" which you can see if you click the grenade at the bottom of the main pyromania page.

I'm excited for that new scout pistol, to try to regain some HP lost when running with sandman.

Also UT rocket launcher... gonna be fun reflecting those depending on how crazy they shoot

New soldier weapon: the Redeemer.
-96% max ammo.
Fires guided nukes.

Too bad TF2 can't really accomodate super weapons like that on standard loadout; maybe that could be an interesting gamemode twist (like the crits on capture in CTF or something).

Yeah, I could see some super weapon ability being coded into the gameplay. Standard loadout, not so much.

Meet the Pyro is up.

Spoiler:
Ehh... Hallucinating a magical world of flowers and rainbows and lollipops... It feels like they just went with the obvious choice. And the rest of the Meet the Team videos actually make sense for what that class does in-game, but this one doesn't really seem to reflect (tee hee) how quick and focused you need to be to be a good Pyro.

In other words... W+M1 is now canon.

EDIT: In fact, I think I prefer Final Combat's "Firebat": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5eSNuQ8I2c He actually WANTS to fuck shit up.

They went with the old creepypasta:
Spoiler:
Look how happy they all are when I point my happy gun at them! They dance around and yell, having the time of their life! Oh, how I love making people happy!

It's been six years now since they let me out of that scary place. I lived there all my life until the nice doctor and general let me out. They said I could help people. Make them happy and make them stop fighting.

The general gave me a happy gun that shoot magical red dust that makes people dance and sing. He put me in my sane suit though, so I couldn't make myself happy with the dust. He say I have a mission to make everyone wearing the other color happy.

I love it so much I can't help laughing with them! They are so tired from the dancing that they fall over and go to sleep. I wish I could do that. Because of the sane mask, I can't ask them to wake up or talk to the other happy soldiers on my team. They look at me like am crazy or something when I talk to them.

Maybe they aren't as happy as i thought. When all the other color is happy, I'll have to make my friends happy as well.

Still enjoyed it, though I think meet the medic was my favorite.

I enjoyed it, but I was holding out for one in the style of the early ones. You know, an interview. Except, it'd be pyro so, not only would you not hear the questions, you wouldn't be able to make out the answers either.

Of course, I'm not really surprised they didn't go with that, given meet the medic it was pretty clear they'd go for a more cinematic feel.

As for my favourite meet the team, I'm going to have to second meet the medic.

Anyway, any of you check out the source filmmaker? It looks pretty cool, I may have to see if I can get on the beta.

Oh, that creepypasta's existed for a while now? Thought so.

(Look at me, complaining about Meet the Pyro while sporting a Pinkie Pie userbar. How ironic.)

My favorite is Meet the Spy, verrrry closely followed by Meet the Medic.

People have been making things with Source Filmmaker for a while now. But I think it required some plugins from some animation program that have been broken for a few months.
EDIT: I can't believe it took me this long to think of this.

Goddammit Valve. I liked this update. I was looking forward to seeing the new weapons. I enjoyed Meet the Pyro. But one weapon (with unique stats) for the Pyro in the Meet the Pyro Update? Give us more to play with than that :(

Yeah, that's dumb.
I'm pretty interested in the new pistol, though. Just gotta be careful to stay out of a Pyro's range of the flamethrower and I'll be unstoppable.

Anyway, they're really playing up this hallucination thing, aren't they? "ENTIRE TEAM IS BABIES!"

You could call them and ask them to launch TF2 for you.

EDIT: Whaaat... The Equalizer... has been nerfed...

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

You can EITHER have the increased damage (Equalizer) or the increased move speed (Escape Plan), but not both. Super lame.

I was wondering about what that Escape Plan was...
(Parents are in AK at the moment, I was housesitting for them for a bit. Fortunately I eventually got a good download speed here, but for a bit I was running at <1 MB/s... ugh).

Hmm, I only just realized how serendipidous it is that the crazy googles are released on the same day that my sister decides to gift me a pair of MIG pilot's goggles. I suppose I have new gaming gear!

I just crafted the Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol (1 Mad Milk + 1 Winger + 1 Reclaimed Metal).

I am never, ever, using the regular pistol with the Scout again. Because you know what I realized? I almost never survive Pyro encounters anyway. The new pistol has taught me to keep my distance from them better. And I am really, really enjoying that extra health.

Haven't had a chance to play recently, the new SMG for the sniper sounds badass.

100% crit chance on a kill? sign me up.
Um, this post feels devoid of content. Good luck?
For comparison, that means that if the cabbage guy from Avatar: The Last Airbender filled up his cart with lettuce instead, it would be about a quarter of a lethal dose.

I don't have it, but I've heard that, in practice, 3 seconds of crits is too short. It has a tiny magazine, so you'll be wanting to reload after a kill, which leaves you 1.9 seconds after the reload.

According to beta testers the optimal MVM team would be something like 4 scottish resistance demos, 1 medic, 1 heavy (for deflector enemies).

Depends on what class(es) you like to play.

Send me a friend request (http://steamcommunity.com/id/Zephyr256k/) and I can set you up with the basics for pretty much any class you might be interested in.
