I'm game, but probably not this week. I have a lot of schoolwork to do.

Easiest way to get arranged games is just post a time and a channel to meet in.

Then whoever is interested can show up.

I have some wiggle room so if anyone else has a time that is good for them, just post it and create a channel "xkcd". I usually wait 15 mins to see if anyone shows.

Awesome. It works with me as well (except next week I leave for Vegas on Wednesday, so I'll be gone all weekend). We'll discuss to figure this out.

As far as I can tell, it's whatever, and you make marines spawn from them. I don't think you can control the buildings tho, or make massive amounts of marines. Course, that just as much as I can see from the footage

BTW. Anybody else think that the infested air units look awesome?

I'm still super iffy on SC2..I feel like the multiplayer is too War3-esque; as in not as fast-paced as SC:BW.

That has been one of my fears since the official word on SC2 went out. I have some faith in Blizzard, however, and am expecting only the best, as usual.

As for SC... I haven't really played in some years, since I lost my CD Key. I can't play on Battle.Net, but my friends and I have managed to play a few times. I'm pretty awful at it.

Well, I figured this was worth a mention, and a thread resurrection.

Starcraft 2's zerg trailer just came out. I'm tripping balls, thats all I have to say. I was forced to listen to it without audio because I'm in the schools library, but just LOOK AT THAT SHIT! New units, new infestations, looks like there is some sort of increase on max number of units, and oh yeah

That's a plot device, :D

I was waiting to see what they'd do with the fact that the Zerg infested the Xel' Naga Temple. The infestation of the Xel' Naga is also the reason why you see the Protoss not having Dragoons anymore, but instead some cheap replacement, lol. Because that's where Dragoons were created, basically.

A bunch of different infested Terran buildings rather than just the command centre, but no Protoss...

He's just not cutting it for the OSL's...he's too standard of a player. I mean, he's earned his spot by working ridiculously heard to counter builds such as Bisu and July's infamous builds; but his standard, calm way of playing isn't enough to stand up to Flash's genius way of playing.

Crazy thing is - Flash is only 15. :| He has SOOOOO many years left under his belt to play/win/etc.

OK, I played about 40 games in the past few days on Bnet.

Is it just me or does every single player on B-Net map hack these days?

I deserved many of those losses, as I am trying to relearn and get better from days gone by, but when I scout my enemy constantly, trying to figure out his build order and strat, and counter it appropriatly, and he reacts PERFECTLY to my build/strat based on a 2:00 1 probe scout.. I start to get suspicious.

Does any terran player spam tech to goliaths with ZERO tanks or vultures on LT without scouting? This happened to me on 3 differnt ZvT games.

Sorry about the vent, but what % of B-net players MH now days?

Is there any anti-hack or detect DL's I can get to defeat this corruption of an awsome game?

iccup and tl.net imo.

plus you just have to get on b.net when the kids go to sleep for school.

Also, if you dl the iccup launcher and use it - it's supposed to counter mh'ers.

Ok I registered on iccup and played about 5 games.

I won a 1v1, lost a 1v1, and lost 3 2v2's.

2 losses TOTALLY my fault.
2 losses allies fault. On a python game, my ally went carriers after I sacraficed most tech to wipe out 1 opponant with spam lings. When the other opp is coming at my base with about 24 dragoons and 24 Zealots, my ally sent over 4 carriers. GG.

Thanks for the site though, no MH is a nice change.

Well, ever since a Korean pro (Flash) beat the another (Jaedong) using a mech build in TvZ, everyone now needs to try to copy it and beat up random people using goliaths/tanks/vultures. But using no tanks is just weird if you are doing a mech build.

Anyways, I am very excited about the TSL, but I am not sure if I will try it out or not. But if I do, you will see me as TSL-Disco_Inferno.

I wasn't talking about SK Terran. In that progame I was mentioned, Flash used a mech build, not SK Terran (which is bio build). Flash certainly didn't invent either (he is only 15 years old), but I don't know who invented SK. I keep reading different stories about its creation and implimentation into the Korean proleagues.

Whenever you use tanks, that is always a risk. But the benefits of seige tanks outweigh that risk. Even then, with proper unit placement, the goliaths will be placed infront of the tanks to stop those run bys.

I'm not gonna lie..I don't think Flash is that fantastic.

I mean sure he's a great player - but I don't think he's an above average player such as a Nal_ra or july at their prime. I mean, all he did was do a fast golly tech to counter predictable fast cars over and over again; against people who go typical builds - such as 2gate cars.

i honestly don't think much compares with nal_ra at his prime. He's amazing. even post-prime, he's still one of the best players.
same goes with boxer and bisu. all three of them revolutionized competitive (and casual) starcraft.

flash is good, but i think his revolution will come a bit later in life.

I agree..but there are many people claiming him to be the best right now because of his golly build.

I mean, he's only 15 - he still has yearssssssssssss to prove he is the best.

Oh me yarm Oh.

Been playing Iccup and sucking.

I refuse to play terran until I can consistantly beat the strat that I encounter 90% of the time there.

Since all the maps are basically a variation of LT, people play Terran 90% of the time and what they all keep doing is:

Close off the ramp completely, through a rax and a few depots. No one can walk through unless the rax lifts.

Then they put about 3 marines on the other side, and spam to 2 factories.

Then an small army of vultures and tanks emerge with a small complement of marines sometimes medics too.

I have tried an array of strats against them, using P or Z.

Expanding, massing, dropping, and cloaked.

Expanding has never worked for me because I don't have enough time to take advantage before a small army is outside my base.

Having an army waiting hasn't worked because they just mine and seige it to death, as they hopscotch out of the base with seige protection on the cliffs.

Dropping is hard, as the tech tree takes longer than their seige mine builds.

I have been successful with stealth a few times, but they were inferior players without scanners. Once they get a scanner its useless, in addition to the high tech levell, all of which are slower than tanks/vultures.

So if anyone knows how to beat this strat please let me know.
And using Z or P.

Ixtellor

P.S. I see a LOT of people playing with the TSL tag. Some of them are kind of noobish and only win because it was my first time playing the map (blue whatever map or Vampire) or their partners were good. (Playing 2v2's with a random partner is dangerous)

Yeah, people are adding the TSL tag for the league, obviously - and a lot of people who are already on iccup had to make new accounts to play in the league.

When are you going to be online next?

I figured as much.

I started a new accout just because my current rating D- is highly embarrassing. Figure I will stick with it until, I crack the Terran strat.

I was playing with Terran last night in a 2v2, I randomed it. And went ahead and tried it out.

It worked great for me, except my partner was an idiot. So I eventuaally got swarmed with 2 P opponants. They did exactly what I try to do, which is swarm the tanks, mines with zealots and archons, with a few goons.

If there had not been 2 of them doing it to me, while my partner provided no assistance at all, I would have easily hop-scotched into their base and owned it.

When I have tried to crack it in the past, I used archons, but I might not have used enough, as the archons against me were fairly affective.

When are you going to be online next?

Other than that it is sporadic. I will play on saturday for sure, but no clue when the time will be.

I do use X-fire with the name Ixtellor. Which is the easiest way to find people if you have it.
On Iccup I use the tag The_Teacher.

If you want to give me some advise and show me how to beat the terran vult/tank strat would love to see it, and can meet any tuesday at a set time.

I love Starcraft so much. Currently working my way through the single-player campaign and playing some Battle.net on the side.

I rarely play Normal. Yes, it doesn't teach me anything, money maps suck, blah blah blah, but I love Fastest so much. It's a completely different game. For one, one of Protoss's biggest weaknesses (the expense of their units) is not nearly as much of an issue. In a fastest money map, you can pretty much count on Protoss to be the strongest of the races. I still love Terran, though.

Also, 255 Upgrades Fast and Free is the best UMS ever. Basically, all builds, upgrades, and units are built instantly. Upgrades go up to 255. For improving your macro skills, this is really the best way.

Hrm, alrighty. I just added you on Xfire - just message me whenever you want to play - I may not be available for some of this week. However, I am generally available whenever needed :P.

I excel in PvT, btw.
