I've got 18 level 100s on Crystal. One of them was given to me by a friend, anmd one other was cloned by turning the power off at just the right time... but it means I trained 16 of the buggers up to level 100.

I just wish I could get them off Crystal and onto Pearl :(

So who else is getting Deoxys at their local GameStop in the upcoming weekends?

Damn you Americans and your Pokémon events. In England I can't get a thing...I wanted Darkrai... :(

I actually completely forgot about the Darkrai event and had no idea it was even in America until it was too late. ;_; I want at least two Deoxys, one for Attack and one for Defense.

Yay! I finally got Diamond!

I am loving the park think, it's painfully cute. And competition have just gotten a little more addictive. Though the new pokeblock system sucks.

A bit late, but I thought I'd mention my Deoxys from the event.

Deoxys Attack
Naive LvL85
HP: 182 (3/0)
Atk: 318 (8/4)
Def: 54 (18/0)
Sp.Atk: 390 (30/254)
Sp.Def: 42 (10/0)
Spd: 371 (29/252)
Format: stat (IV/EP)
Hidden Power: 63, POISON

Ice Beam
Thunder
Superpower
Psycho Boost

It's just a bit off because I haven't finished leveling it; the Sp.Atk IV is either 30 or 31, and the Hidden Power is either Poison or Bug, neither of which I find very appealing.

Also, this is on pearl; Though I originally wanted Diamond, a few friends suggested otherwise, and I'm still regretting it...
Dialga, I envy you so...

Also, yes, I dislike poffins and poffin-making in general. And the continually devilish Feebas-catching system is disappointing, as well.

I wasn't able to get it due to the Japanese nature of my game cartridge (or so I was told by an unscrupulous source), but I do happen to already have it on Leaf Green. I got it in a trade from a kid at the Mew event last year. It's likely hacked, unless there was a previous Deoxys event I don't know about. And even if it wasn't hacked, it was cloned.

Thanks to some, um, shadier parts of the internets I can now have my own Deoxys event whenever I want.

Memo to NOA: Distributing a DS card that is easily dumped in order to hold a Pokemon event = bad.

Palkis and Dialga are shit anyway, common, since there is almost one guaranteed per game.

Almost?

But anyways, at least I can be like "Free Feebas!" now.

Also, I'm having a bit of trouble; It seems I'm wrong, so I'm simply asking to be corrected. I was under the impression that a male pokemon, in this case a Feebas, when mated with a Bold Ditto holding an Everstone, would produce a Feebas that would be Bold as well, 50% of the time. So, I am either incorrect, or extremely unlucky, as I've found two bold Feebas of 30+ eggs. Perhaps I've forgotten something, or it has changed in Gen. IV.

It's supposed to be 50%, but I've noticed the same thing. Producing upwards of 50 eggs before getting the desired trait. Maybe I was doing it wrong too.

Thats the most annoying one imho. I can't find my old games so I can't get all these dongle only pokemon that I really fucking want.

ALSO only being able to trade for pokemon you've seen is shit, because after all, I can't see pokemon which trainers don't have and which I can't get because I don't have the dongle game....

Dusknoir.
Kingdra.
Porygon-Z.
Electrivire.
Magmortar.

*tears hair out*

This is why I stopped playing Pokémon after school ended! Why are all the cool Pokémon trade evolutions?! I have had a Level 40 Careful EV-trained Dusclops with great IVs sitting in my box holding a Reaper Cloth for ages now.

Trades don't annoy me as much, esp. like porygon because I have a brother who I can just trade with.

Trades are hyper annoying, though. Once I got a GBA, I could use the other slot to get the evolutions on my Red / Blue pokemon, since I had... actually all three of the original version. With Diamond / Perl, I have one friend I could trade with, but she lives half the country away, and she bought a gameshark anyway [which I'm kind of morally against] so she doesn't have the need.

When it comes to trading, I get far too interested in the idea of looking theough eBay for a cheep DS and the rival version. I'm not sure it's within the spirit of the game, but it would certainly get me around those annoying trade evs.

Speaking of which, how exactly does one end up getting the the three different evolutions of Evee (Vaporeon, Flameon, and Electreon, as I recall?) in Red/Blue/Yellow? Would you actually have to trade with three different people, in theory?

That aforementioned "catch any pokemon" trick sounds more and more appealing. (Could someone please tell me definitively whether or not it has any unwanted side effects?)

In R/B/Y? I'm rather sure that it doesn't, but I can't give you a perfectly accurate answer.

Also, you should only need to trade with two other people, since you're given an Eevee. That is, assuming that you want Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon, rather than Flareon, Jolteon, Vaporeon, and a spare Eevee.

I screwed up royally on my Diamond version. I am stuck at the tower with a bunch of 35-45 level pokemon. Now I have to tromp through the damn dungeon SLOWLY leveling up. Also, having not played a version since blue means I missed out on the new pokemon, types, items, breeding, so I am pretty sure my team blows and needs to change pefore hitting up the elite 4 or 8 or whatever the first group is in Diamond.

45 Roserade - Miracle Seed
44 Gaspar - Luck Incense
41 Gabite - Exp. Share (for obvious reasons right now)
47 Medichamp - Fist Plate
44 Empoleon - Mystic Water
44 Rapidash - Razor Claw

I have a 49 Dialga with Adament orb anda 50 Azelf and 50 Uxie but I don't like using "legendary" pokemon to beat the 4 the first time around.
I also have a 48 Luxray with Magnet that I might throw in, but I don't know who I would take out.

If anyone wants to trade and trade back to evo, PM me and I'll send my friend code.

All you really have to do is level up (and try to evolve that Haunter if you can find a willing/trustworthy conspirator). I wish I could make a replacement suggestion in the event you can't evolve it, but Mismagius is the best one I can think of, and you can't get it in Diamond. Maybe Drifblim?

Articuno forever! I was into the original Pokemon games. I had a gb emulator and a rom at the time though, because I didn't have a gameboy. When I got a GBA later on, I made sure to track down a copy of Blue, though, heehee.

I play Diamond off and on, but I have to say that I adore Pokemon Snap. It's FAR too amusing for its own good, especially with a roommate that is as easily amused as I am. I'm a bad influence...she can name most of the original pokemon now, and she has her own copy of Snap.

Ah, pokemon. My secret shame.

For the people going on about how trade evolution is annoying -

It's possible to evolve trade-evolution pokemon using only one DS and one copy of diamond or pearl as long as you have somewhere you can connect to WiFi. All you have to do is put the pokemon you want to evolve up for trade on the GTS (It's a very good idea to ask for something impossible in return, like a level 1 legendary.) Then you make an unrelated trade on the GTS while your pokemon is in the system and voilà! When you cancel the first trade and get your pokemon back, it will count as having been traded and evolve.

Started playing yellow yesterday, and had to put it down... I forgot how incredibly weird it was to see pikachu following you around and how frustrating it was that he could never evolve into raichu so that he could learn other moves.

I am now playing gold (i think its gold anyway) on my computer (w00t! emulators!). I beat the elite 4 with the same 6 that I have always had on my belt :D w00t! lol. I am now beating up the rest of the gyms and am hopefully going to catch the rest of the pokemon that I can in this version. YAY for that too!

I'm in a similar boat. I was playing my old, old, OLD copy of Blue (the save file mysteriously vanished, but I was planning to restart anyway) and realized just how...unpolished the game was. By our current standards anyway, which I'm aware makes most old games look like glorified piles of shit in comparison. But still...it's almost enough to make me throw out the game and replay Leaf Green.

Actually, now that I think about it, there WAS someone who managed to do just that, although he designed it more along the lines of a MUD. Seems to be gathering dust now, though. I have a gym there, but my web site's pretty much mothballed, so I dunno if the webmaster removed my gym. It's at Reality's End.

*is jealous*

They never come here.

Pokemon Blue was the first game I ever owned and played for any decent amount of time (not just in the series, first game ever), so none of the games since have had the same effect on me. I think I would have enjoyed Gold more if Lugia hadn't forgotten one of it's better moves by the time you caught it, that really annoyed me. As it is that generation gave me two of my favorite monsters: Totodile and Houndour.
I'm not a fan of R/S/E however, I don't know why but I never really got into them, I loved the remakes though. I've been playing a lot of Pearl recently since I restarted it while I was away and I've managed to get my hands on Feebas, Spiritomb and the Johto starters.
When you see the robot, drink!
