Do some of you buy RPG Source books just to read them?

Of the Tabletop, and other, lesser varieties.

Well, I did buy Horror to read it.

Of course, it was only $5....

Did I mention that, if I do run it, I'll be back-grafting it into the OWoD? Not that it'll make a lot of difference, since encounters with other supernaturals should be slim-to-none, but even so.

I just picked up the Serenity book on a whim, and have some interesting ideas for it, but I'm unlikely to actually get a chance to run it in the near future. So I think it counts for this thread.

And I have a fair collection of old Mage (revised) books, most of which never got directly used since they were acquired after my last game. And the odds of running or playing an old WoD game in the future look slim and shrinking. I usually don't buy a book unless I have at least some intention of using it, but all too often it just doesn't work out that way.

Speaking of the Serenity book, I'm sure I'm not the first person to notice this, but I have to mention it. The illustration for the "blind" complication (p.49) is a 'Verse-styled artistic rendering of Maggie Lizer and Justice. +15 points to this book for excellent obscure reference humor.

I'm pretty sure I have "The Slavery In My Asshole" on DVD.

I don't personally, but my brother certainly does. He's kind of addicted to game mechanics and really loves the stuff White Wolf puts out. Whenever I visit him and end up with some downtime I usually end up flipping through some of his extensive collection.
Totally not a hypothetical...

I'm so very guilty of this ... all the Battletech data readouts, Shadowrun 2nd & 3rd editions, random AD&D books, White Wolf's Vampire, and even some Palladium books. I've never played with any of the source books I've bought, I just read them.

I have every non-novel book asociated with AD&D Planescape. Fun to read, difficult to play, nigh impossible to DM.
