Summer Gaming Slowdown

Postby FACM » Mon Apr 28, 2008 4:03 pm UTC

As usual, the months where being outside is more tolerable in a major target sales area corresponds with a lack of new products. What are you going to be playing despite this?

I'm currently playing Dwarf Fortress and Pirates of the Burning Sea. I think the next games I'll be buying are Mass Effect(PC) and Bangai-O Spirits, then Spore, should it not be delayed again. That's a very small number of games for me.

I'm glad. I've got a ton to catch up on AND GTA4 is out tomorrow. I'll wait and see how Bangai-O Spirits reviews. I'd rather just boot up my Dreamcast and play it, really.

Yeah, i'm really looking forward to spore too. I'm more of a console gamer though. So it's probably brawl and grand theft auto 4 for me.

Mass Effect for PC comes out soon, Battlefield Heroes will go into open beta during summer, Mario Kart Wii is extremely addictive, so long as you don't play for too long at once, Team Fortress 2 is updating again, Alone in the Dark 5 looks epic, I've been downloading tons of freeware games recently, I'm planning on playing Diablo II again once I have a long stretch of free time (the summer), and there's always Brawl.

Yeah, I'll have some stuff to do.

Civ IV: BtS. I might get Sins of a Solar Empire if I get bored of Civ.

Code: Select all

_=0,w=-1,(*t)(int,int);a()??<char*p="[gd\
~/d~/\\b\x7F\177l*~/~djal{x}h!\005h";(++w
<033)?(putchar((*t)(w??(p:>,w?_:0XD)),a()
):0;%>O(x,l)??<_='['/7;{return!(x%(_-11))
?x??'l:x^(1+ ++l);}??>main(){t=&O;w=a();}

Same here. That, along with Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Team Fortress 2, provide enough entertainment for me. I'm also working through Neverwinter Nights 2 at the moment, and I still haven't beaten Phantom Hourglass yet.

For some reason I've had issues getting into any DS game I've played. GBA games I'm fine with (even if I'm playing it on my DS), though. I think it has something to do with the stylus.

I'll probably play a MMO. If it's not EvE or LotRO (Someday, I'll choose what I prefer!), i might just get back to WoW, but that's unlikely.

I will certainly continue playing Call of Duty 4 multiplayer and perhaps a little World in Conflict. And maybe some Sims 2 if I've time (I rediscovered the game, and it's freaking addictive! :shock: ).

Oh, and I'm really looking forward to Spore!

I just remembered that I need to finish Paper Mario (less than halfway at the moment), start and finish The Thousand-Year Door (which I've had for nearly a year and haven't opened yet), and then buy and play Super Paper Mario.

..yes, I'm behind on my Mario RPGs. If I could find Partners in Time I'd get that too (Superstar Saga was excellent). I still haven't beaten SMRPG either, so maybe I should hunt that down as well..

Hopefully I'll be getting a new PC, as my laptop is dying (and was never good to begin with). I'll probably be replaying games with better graphics, portal looks awful on my laptop and is too good not to replay anyway (and there's the extra flash levels that've been made). I haven't been able to play HL2 episodes yet and it's been a while since I played HL2 itself, I think I should play the whole HL series in one run, that would be cool. Need to get back into Oblivion (morrowind too) and there's a load of other games I haven't finished...

So yeah, I'm pretty much set for summer gaming, new releases or not.
