Well, I've subscribed to
this blog, which has been inundating me with Ludum Dare entries for the past couple days, so here's my recs so far:
Memento XII--Point-and-click adventure, a couple obscure items but the hints and a little classic "try every option on everything" strategy got me through it without too much trouble. Quite polished, story/characters are simple but quite good.
Pretentious Game--May or may not be a mockery of "arty" games. I might lean "no", actually-- the love-story narrative, while getting a bit cliched, isn't quite over-the-top enough for that. But it's clever, and it's a platformery game I got through without ragequitting, which is an honor very, very few platformers can claim.
Controlling--There was one level I gave up on, but anyone with a bit more tolerance for platformers might fare better. ...Oh wait. Level-skip feature. You miss the transition text but at least I can see the last two levels now.

It was playing with the gameplay-delivers-the-message conceit--YMMV as to how well it's conveyed, but it has the same "discover the mechanics as you go along" idea that I liked about 'Pretentious Game'.
Scape--A small puzzle game, a little simpler once you've got the rules as to which tiles you can re/traverse figured out. But sometimes it's quite nice to have a finishable, bite-size, just-challenging-enough set of puzzles, rather than banging your head against one for hours.
Still digging through them, though. Couple other games that have been floating around:
I've heard good things about
A Super Mario Summary, but I have not tried it, because it is a puzzle-platformer, and I value my sanity.
Rambo: Last Blood is kind of a joke game, but imo it's a pretty good joke. Think it would be better going in unspoiled, though.
Parameters-- it's a grindfest. Click on things, grind for cash/stats, defeat boxes by clicking them. That's really about it, and yet it's kind of... fun? compelling? food for the neurotic/compulsive? If you've ever tried to fill in an entire sheet of paper with solid pen marks, this might be the game for you. A few hints
here.
...So there's my contribution for now, I guess. XD
