Tentacle Wars: The Purple Menace

A neat little game where you are a circle, and you extend tentacles out to other circles to populate it with...whatever is inside your circle.
It's better than it sounds.

Ooh, that was quite a bit of fun. I started out not thinking much, then I realized how the tentacles actually worked, and the effects of cutting your tentacles. That made it much deeper and more interesting.

For all of you who played the backstabbing game Neptunes Pride (and everyone else of course) I present the latest creation from Iron Helmet:

Blight of the Immortals

It's a long term, real time strategy game with nodes (cities) and paths (roads) and you send your soldiers around to capture cities in a fantasy world in order to get more resources and thus build larger armies.
However, instead of fighting against eachother there is a common enemy: The blight.
The blight is a horde of undeads controlled by an AI that corrupts anything it conquers and turns it against you.
When ever your soldiers die, the blight grows.
Your common goal is to defeat the blight.

Of course, if you fork out money for a premium account you get the pleasure of trying to defeat your friends while at the same time avoiding the blight, which to me sounds more difficult and more fun. I'm going to try the free version anyhow and see how fun it is.

Awesome thread! Sure is going to help me out when searching for Flash games. I have a website where I link to and provide information about the best games on the web. I haven't heard anyone mention SAS Zombie Assault 2, which in my opinion is one of the best out there. Its the closest thing to Call of Duty Nazi Zombies i've seen, except its Flash of course.

Edit: Sorry, forgot the link. http://gameblog.me/2011/03/sas-zombie-assault-2/

Multiplayer Tetris / TetriNET in your browser

Postby martythemaniak » Tue Mar 29, 2011 10:32 pm UTC

Hi Everyone,

As a side project, me and some friends have been working on a completely new take on the old multiplayer tetris / TetriNET idea - it is 100% browser-based (no flash, java etc), with a different set of items and much improved usability. For those of you not familiar with TetriNET - it's a multiplayer tetris clone where you get special items as you clear lines. You can then use those special items (add line, clear line, pause) to attack your opponents or defend yourself.

blockbattle.net - online TetriNET

You can play by creating a private game ("Play With Friends") and sending the link over IM/IRC/whatever to your friends, or you can try to find a random opponent ("Find Opponents"). This is still a very early version (we started showing it around a week ago), so feedback is greatly appreciated!

I didn't see Mamono Sweeper on here anywhere. It's like minesweeper, but different. A bonus is that I don't seem to be forced into guessing nearly as much as in minesweeper (except the opening moves).

Spike - A love story. I love the attention to detail in the animation of this game.
Manial wrote:The I of It is pretty enjoyable. Mostly because of the narration, to be honest.
I do love the narrator, although he pronounces elevator with a W instead of a V for some reason. The gameplay was silly but the story made it fun.

Battlemaster is a great free strategy/role-playing game in a feudal setting. Play with people from all over the world. It is very schedule-friendly, processing one or two turns per day, and has rules in place to help the game be enjoyable for people who have busy lives.

That was pretty fun! There were a few fairly difficult puzzles, but the possible combinations of things to do are still limited, so you can start brute-forcing if you absolutely need to.

Ether War

Frenetic top down shooter. It's only one level, but that's all it needs. I believe this is the version with the Hard Mode as well. For extra hard mode, don't upgrade your allies.

N.B. Has particle effects.
All Shadow priest spells that deal Fire damage now appear green.
Big freaky cereal boxes of death.

If anyone's ever played the board game Blokus, there's a free online version that I've been playing a lot recently (it's best to play with at least 1 friend):

http://www.blokus.fr/online-game/

It's kind of hard for me to explain it, but it's pretty simple to learn. There's a square grid and you're trying to place as many of your starting pieces (every combination of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 square pieces- for example for 3, you have a 3 in a row block and a short "L" shaped block) as possible. You can only place pieces diagonally adjacent to your own but without sharing any edges. Essentially the strategy boils down to trying to secure parts of the board from the other player(s) while infiltrating theirs.

Edited so as not to doublepost another spatial positioning game:

http://entanglement.gopherwoodstudios.com/light

Can play by yourself or against someone on the same computer, similar to "pipeline" puzzles but with a hexagonal grid.
