Spring/Summer over.
Absolutely NOTHING happened.
No migrants, invasions, moods, anything.
I need to do some exploratory mining...

Spring 207 is go!
So, no migrants, 1 invasion that killed ONE dwarf, 2 successful moods, and that's it.
Very uneventful year.

Next year, mountainhome dwarves really want cloth, so that should be good.

Problems:
Basically all of our workshops are cluttered, someone needs to reorganize labor so we get people carrying crap.
Stockpiles are getting full.
Wood supplies are low.

That's about it, I engraved a bunch of stuff, made a few stockpiles, opened up a few fortifications. Life is good.
Oh, and one of our fortress guards randomly drops unconscious, poor guy.

Ok I'm having problems... your graphics pack confuses me :P I can't tell what anything is! :D

I tried starting the game without the pack included but I got cock blocked by the program >.<

Anyways right now I've been trying to figure out where we've been getting most of our minerals. I can't tell if we have any sources of metal (because I can't see anything :P) so I re-directed the exploratory mining operation, turning it into a shaft mining operation.

Yeah, that guy will keep passing out and spamming you with messages until he heals. By the time your turn is over you'll be wishing he'd just die already. I recommend putting him on clerk duty and getting him to legendary with that as quickly as possible; once he's tough enough he won't pass out any more.

Weird that jailed dwarves aren't getting fed. I thought that was pretty much fixed in the last release.

Oh, and Bhelliom, I totally ninja'd you with the raptors back in the original DF thread :P

Guess I missed the post about dwarf fortress raptors. Ah well. The ones I made are scary as hell, a pair of them savaged an embark party, 1 dwarf unscathed, 4 mortally wounded, and 2 killed outright. I am glad I made them unable to swim. If there is still room I would love to join the game, Otherwise I can wait until next game.

Snafu: goblin siege of more than our fortress holds in dwarves. The dwarves took their sweet time flipping the right switch which means a couple got in, and the rest massacared the human convoy which makes it possible that the humans will be back with a vengence... on us (yes i've seen it happen before).

I thought it was a siege of 46, and then I saw two more groups of at least ten (probably closer to twenty). We lost a speardwarf and a couple of guards who decided to charge into the fray. Was discouraged from using the lava by the "WARNING: DOES NOT CLOSE" label on the lever.

Can't you put some pictures up? I want to know how the fortress is faring... :/ (Slightly annoyed that few else are doing diary-style with lots of pretty pictures. But it does take some extra time, sure...)

I'm also a little disturbed at what arrangements might've been set up with lava. Whatever it is, I'm going to overdo it, though.

Uh, maybe. There's not much to see except a whole host of goblins at the front door and a group of marksmen overlooking the front door shooting at my guards. Also I'd like to know why my champions are carrying bone crossbows without any bolts >.< Next order of business: get them equipped with steel bows.

1. Means theres no real reason to make crossbows out of anything other than wood or bone, whichever is more readily available.
2. I don't know WHY it doesn't close, I set it up with bauxite mechanisms and everything. Makes me a sad panda :(
