Um, this post feels devoid of content. Good luck?
For comparison, that means that if the cabbage guy from Avatar: The Last Airbender filled up his cart with lettuce instead, it would be about a quarter of a lethal dose.

The game looks great.. but.. I just can't get past them choosing this song. I'm going to pass.
Is that a quote from an actual EA ad?

GamesRadar wrote:If we had to single out our favorite map from what we played, Damavand Peak would be it. Damavand is a Rush map, and what makes it interesting is how it handles the spawn points. At one point the attacker’s spawn becomes a cliffside bunker with a sheer drop off. The next defending base is a couple of hundred feet down. While you could take one of the helicopters and gently set yourself down like a pretty princess, real men base jump off the bunker and pull their chute before they splatter all over the objective.
If that wasn’t fun enough, the final base in the map has you pressing into a tight tunnel that usually pitches two tanks against one another in tight quarters as the attacking infantry try to slip past unnoticed. While it may lack a bit of the signature Battlefield map openness, it’s a lot of fun. Just be prepared for confused players to idle around the bunker for 5-10 minutes before they realize they have to jump.

Place an order with Amazon (you won't be charged until the 25th). Then, have that origin preorder canceled and refunded by contacting EA's support through the origin support chat thingy. Problem solved!Obby wrote:Lostdreams wrote:Preorders via Amazon for the Battlefield 3 limited edition digital download version for $42 today for those of you who want to save some money and don't care about boxes.

I should have waited, damnit. I spent $20 more than that through Origin, because I'm a sucker apparently. Never gonna make that mistake again.

But you won't get the Physical Warfare Pack through Amazon it seems. Right?

if anyone is having the same issue and/or got any suggestions how to fix this let me know. I deleted my hosts files and tried changing some router setting and no success.

novax6 wrote:Pretty disappointed with BF3 overall.
Really feels like a big shift away from the 'old style' of BF games and much more firmly in the direction of Call of Duty. Everything feels much faster than the older games, where most people had an average lifespan of at least a couple minutes rather then seconds, and many of the design decisions are going completely in the wrong direction from what i'd love to see. It looks really nice, and the sound is fantastic, but the gameplay feels less conductive to teamwork, communication, strategy, and more just about shooting people and getting a high k/d ratio.
-The maps are much smaller than most of the maps from BF2 or even 1942. The bottlenecks on the Rush maps are especially noticeable and awful because you don't have any other options, no flanking for the most part.
-The in game map/minimap is the most hilariously useless thing I've seen in a game in a really long time. Rather then point out all the problems, i'll just link to this handy image I saw the other day. When playing new maps it takes wayyyy more effort than it should to even just figure out where the hell I am in relation to the objectives or the enemies base. And pressing M doesn't even give you the whole map, just enlarges the worthless-ness.
-Spawning on your squad members is possibly my least favorite design choice in thegameentire series. So many reasons, but to keep it short, it feels lame, invalidates the mobile spawn point, and means that enemies can and usually are coming from everywhere, because it's nearly impossible to actually defend and wipe out a squad.
-The whole squad system sucks, and gives you much less information then previous games.
-Single player campaign. Haven't played it too much yet, but it's painfully on rails and basically a CoD:MW clone in every way, just a bit better and with nicer sounds. Would have preferred to cut the whole thing and spend that extra time and money on multiplayer, which is where everyone is going to be spending 90+% of their time with the game anyways.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a decently fun game, but just as much as Bad Company 2 was, and doesn't even come close to BF192 and BF2 in sheer fun and replay-ability. For all their talk about not wanting to target the "Call of Duty audience" it feels much much closer to that then it does any of it's own previous games.

big boss wrote:Does anyone think that some of the pistols are kind of too strong? I'm not bad at FPS games by any stretch, and there are times when a sniper at medium to close range will be able to kill me with his pistol and I have an assault rifle and we see each other at about the same time...
