Sorry for the double post, but I don't think anyone will see this if I just edit.

So this video has been exploding all over the ponynet. I thought I'd share it here.

That video was insanely well done. Thank you for posting it, GUY WHO LIKES PINKIE PIE!!!

Also, something about this show does to inspire fanworks. Too bad the first things I think when I see 'cast interviews' or 'fanworks' is that dark part of the internet that claims that the vast majority of people in this fanbase are fundamentally terrible human beings (not that the fanbase doesn't have many, many problems, but it's a bit much to claim that the vast majority of 'bronies' fall into the batshit insane category. Also, I don't like the term 'Brony'.)

...Actually, those interviews could be interesting to listen too...

And weeks after first watching that Epic Wub Time video, I am firmly convinced that the fanon has come up with a great idea for a sitcom and doesn't realize it yet. It is a concept which I will totally rip off and have a show about a serious, sophisticated classical musician and a crazy, fun-loving DJ forced to share a New York Apartment with Neil Patrick Harris playing a former rock star. Am I crazy?

You were, but then you mentioned Neil Patrick Harris and then it was okay.

When you say that cast interviews make you think of the "dark" parts of the fandom... you mean, like, creepy fans making it uncomfortable for the interviewees? The only one I've listened to is Everfree Radio's interview of Andrea Libman, and it wasn't bad at all. Mostly.

And if you've been paying attention to anything Tara Strong's been doing recently, you'd know she doesn't seem to have a problem with the dark side of the fandom. Or so I should think, after she tweeted a picture of Twilight Sparkle in a bikini with a seductive look in her eyes.

Can I ask why not? Is it the potentially male-only connotations? I'm interested because I've heard this a couple of times but don't quite "get" it yet.

Those thoughts are basically connected to obsessing over 'haters' to much, especially those who assume that the average 'Brony' is a lunatic, sexually repressed manchild. The crap that does happen doesn't help, but I'm working on assuming that this fanbase isn't that bad and that these sorts of questions don't matter very much in a world where people are dying so that they can have democracy in their countries. Mostly because I suspect that the OCD has gotten wrapped up in this to some extent. It's basically my own damn fault.

Also, I don't like the term on the secondary principal that it has gained some very negative connotations and the primary reason that I just don't like specialized terminology for fanbases. Matter of fact, the very idea of fanbases makes me uneasy; they seem to take anything related to the show way to seriously and there is a certain level of 'groupthink' that bothers me. So it's probably a personal thing more than anything else.

Still, as my previous post has made clear, there are quite a few things I do like about this fanbase, mostly individual members and some of the fanworks (and of course, accedentally stumbling across characters and concepts I'd honestly love to play around with in a non-pony context...)
I really should be working right now, but somehow I don't have the energy.

It was "troll", not "throw".

So, despite the fact that the video description on Friendship is Witchcraft 6 said "no more 2 month waits between episodes" (IIRC... that sentence isn't there anymore), it's been over two and a half months and the new one won't be up until Bronycon. So, June 30th-ish.

What do you guys want to see in season 3? Here's my list:
More Luna
More Zecora
Applejack finally gets a song
Some mane 6 combinations that haven't been seen get screentime (eg an episode centered around AJ and fluttershy. Or AJ and pinkie pie. Heck, AJ just didn't geature much in season 2, did she?)
More equestrian history.
Scootaloo gets some backstory.
The CMC finally get their cutie marks. I think you could get 5 episodes here-one where they get up to their usual hijinks but actually learn something, one where one gets her mark, which disrupts their friendship, one where the other two get their marks, one "OK, now what?" episode, and one where they think that, because these are their special talents, they can put in no work at all and still be awesome at them.

'Sad' episode of some kind
Flight School/Filly Dash and FS episode
Return of villain from G1
Daring Doo episode
More worldbuilding in general

Less 'babies' (make the show too young, little opportunity to show friendship and relationship, it's just "funny" situations one after the other)
Less 'animals' (rabbits, squirrels, phoenixes etc. The non-sentient animals act too childlike for the show)
Less Merriwether Williams

Above all, don't change what the show is about in either direction (towards adults, or towards saturday morning cartoon standards)

I think "more Zecora" is confirmed, as is "history of Equestria" (which implies "more Luna").

I'd agree with more Luna, particularly something that shows how powerful she is. Some AJ and FS would be good too.

In the meantime, I will continue resisting buying the DVDs. I spotted Vols 1 & 2 in the store recently, but the distributor (Madman) is well known for putting together slimline full season packs and I'm sure I can wait for that.

I want to see more Fluttershy and Rarity, not just because they're my favorite ponies, but because they got short-changed this time around (only two episodes each where they had some significant screen time, while everypony else got three or four). What I'd like to see more though is more episodes like season 1, where all or most of the mane 6 are together; I think the characters are more interesting when they play off each other.

I agree that Fluttershy got shafted on screen time. But Rarity had two awesome episodes for her and supporting appearances on other episodes (SOME, PYHD). Fluttershy in PYHD was arguably a not so good appearance.

I liked Season 2's balance of "all 6" episodes and "subset" episodes- it seems like having everyone together playing off of each other runs the risk of Flanderizing them. When it's just, say, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie, each of them can take on roles that would have gone to Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, or Applejack if they were there. But I agree that it's nice to have them all interacting in episodes that aren't adventure episodes.

Rarity got shortchanged? What about AJ? Her epsiodes either flanderised her (last roundup) or didn't let her interact with other characters that much (SSCS6000, which was generally a bit rubbish, apart from the song).

I'll agree with most of these, but I do have a soft spot for the phoenixes. Especially now that spike has a phoenix pet. Please remember Chekov, MLP writers.

Well, they don't need to get them now, I just think that the CMC try to get their cutie marks and learn nothing episodes are all worn out, so there's no reason not to do it now.

The best episodes for AJ this season where ones where she played a supporting role. She's absolutely awesome in Sisterhooves Social, for example.

Yeah, she was always the bridesmaid, never the bride. She needs a starring episode where more character depth is revealed. And she sings. She definitely needs a song.

Have watched it now.
Hmm. The rest of them have me laughing the whole way through. The previous one forced me to pause it every 10 seconds because I couldn't stop laughing in time for the next line. Not so with this one. It was a... strange experience.

If I had to rank them, I think I'd say 5, 4, 6, 3, 2, 1, 7.

You have. I decided to put it in this pony thread, rather than (or in fact as well as) the other one.
