Not sure why there's no thread for this yet.

Chappie is in redbox now, got it the other day. I liked it pretty well, though there are a few 'science doesn't work that way' spots, it still managed to hook me on the story, especially near the end. It also has Wolverine driving a Battlemech, so there's that.

The R rating seems tacked on, the movie would be just as good with fewer swears and a background tv scene cut. Are producers still trying to make money by making a film more 'edgy'?

Also just now learned about Die Andwoord, and their roles as themselves. Not my thing, musically, but interesting.

Yeah the whole movie appeared to be a two-hour advertisement for Die Antwoord. You can tell they are musicians and not actors. I like the idea of the plot in principle, but the execution is such a let-down. And I totally feel you on that whole "whytf does that eeg helmet thing work on a robot?" nonsense.
