Crucial final frames

Postby OP Tipping » Sun Apr 30, 2017 3:16 am UTC

There are a few frames, maybe a quarter of a second, at the end of BvS where flecks of dirt rose off Kal-El's coffin. My wife missed it and argued with me that I was imagining it but the electric internet tells me I wasn't.

There are similarly a few frames at the end of X-men: The last stand in which Magneto wobbles a chess piece.

Can you think of other examples where crucial information is given in the last fraction of a second before the roll of credits?
a) Please explain the specific MEDICAL reason for ordering this MEDICATION !
b) Please state the nature of your ailment or injury.
c) One a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your pain?
d) Please state the nature of the medical emergency.

Inception famously goes black just before revealing the answer.

Michael Caine says he's got a great idea, at the end of The Italian Job..? (Ok, so it then goes into the scenery-porn and musical outro of the credits, not a post-credits stinger, but this was already quite a sophisticated ending for a 1960s British crime-caper romp... :P)

Yeah but I am talking about literally the last fraction of a second before the end of the film: blink and you'll miss it.

Inception is probably another case, yes, with that final wobble.
