It's probably The Princess and the Goblin.

Okay, there was a film. It was a parody film of sorts. I remember it being about a kid growing up in Italy (possibly) and he had to wear leg braces (Forrest Gump parody) and there's a scene where he is running away from mobsters, and his braces fall apart, but all sorts of stupid things come out, like a washing machine and pots and pans.

And then I remember he goes to America, and is given a book to read while he waits in the immigration line, and he instantly learns English from it. And he meets a girl in the line who has the same/similar book, and they get to talking. I think she mentions the things you see moving when you close your eyes being worms.

Anyway, then I remember they are sitting out somewhere at night, looking at the sky, and she sees a shooting star, and tells the boy to make a wish. He closes his eyes and does so, and her boobs grow bigger.

That's about all I can remember. Any clues?

Probably "Mafia!"

My turn: It's an animated movie probably from the 90s (Don Bluth-ish style?) about little forest animal kids. All remember is there's a sick little badger girl, and her grandpa asks the kids to go find her some rare medicine or something. Can't remember the kids exactly, all I remember was one of them was this porcupine kid who always worried about food and always carries a backpack. I believe the story had quite the environmental aesop.

EDIT: Never mind, it was Once Upon A Forest :?

Hi guys. Long time forum lurker, only just registered today.
I need your help. The internet is surprisingly unhelpful today!

Ok, there's this film I can't remember the name of. Bear with me while I go through what I can remember. It's an old classic film. A guy in his spaceship (which has a female AI), crashes on a desert planet. There he meets a ginger girl who calls herself "Nicky the worm" because "I can crawl into really small spaces" (quoted from memory). This girl is native to the planet. While there, he gets captured somehow, by the "Overlord" or "Overdog" or something like that. He runs this.....underground metal mechanical maze of some sort, which is designed to kill. Somehow the main guy escapes.

Near the end of the film, the main guy and this "Nicky" girl are in a cave. This cave has big holes all over it. At some point, out of these holes fall hundreds of fat blobby white humanoid things. The dude escapes the planet with Nicky.

That's about all I got from memory. I'm 23 and I believe I last watched that when I was about 10. Any help would be appreciated. There are a lot of bright people here of all ages. I'm hoping one of you remembers the film.
If it helps (and I could be way off, but this is what my memory points to), I think the filim is called "the last defender" or "galaxy defender" or..... "galaxy ranger" or something like that. Like I said, I could be wrong there, so if there's a film you remember with the plot points I described, but has a title nothing like what I suggested, please say it anyway.

Thankyou very much. I really want to see this film again!

The titles suggestions you gave made me think The Last Starfighter. But I think the plot is different.

I've looked up a few keywords in online film databases but came out with nothing. The Last Starfighter I've never seen, and the plot is completely different. However, thanks for mentioning that film anyway. Looks good
*Goes off to find a copy*

As for the film I requested, it is an old obscure sci-fi film. Sorry I can't be more descriptive. Not holding out much hope for an answer :|
Still, I'm having fun searching for it :D

I can absolutely assure you that it's not The Last Starfighter.

It doesn't seem familiar to me, but if you don't get any responses here, IMDb's "I Need to Know" forum has never failed me.

A movie about a bunch of kids who solve a mystery...early 90's I'd say. I remember the killer is an opera singer or something and the kids mom likes him.

Hi, I just registered so I could put you out of your misery!

This is "Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone" (1983) starring Peter Strauss as Wolff, a bounty hunter who goes to rescue three women stranded on a desert planet where their lifeboat crashed after an interstellar cruise liner was destroyed. Ginger girl Niki was Molly Ringwald, the AI was Andrea Marcovicci, Overdog was Michael Ironside (a legless torso overseeing his lair from the end of a cherrypicker arm - Ironside does seem to be the go-to guy for science fiction characters suffering dismemberment!).

I don't remember the white blobby things but as Overdog survived by extracting people's life energy, I suppose they could have been previous victims...

It shows up now and again on late-night TV here in the UK, and the DVD is still available. Enjoy!

In a spread of registrations I joined the Forum to ask for help :)

I remember sci-fi movie with some folks trying to go up in gigantic bulding or some kind of megastructure build in the ocean. They thought, they were going up from ground level but as it turned out, they'd started at something around -60 or -40 and eventually got to ground level (or rather sea level, as it was located somewhere in water).

They repaired some kind of two-legged robot (similar to ED-209 enforcement droid from Robocop but bigger) on the way up. There are scenes they are driving/riding this robot/machine/something and get to a level filled with oily mixture (fuel or something).

This movie was probably shot in early 90s or late 80s.

oh... the reason, they are going up may be that they were from somewhere else but as they got into some elevator or deck, something broke and they ended up down below, but thats just my guess. I dont remember.

I assure you - this one is nagging me and comming back from time to time, but I haven't found it yet. I suppose it was really unpopular at the time and is forgotten now. I couldn't find it on even broadest lists of sci-fi movies from the time...

Anime that aired on an independent Southern Ontario TV station sometime in the 1980s, and for all I know never aired anywhere else in the English-speaking world--

A young man, in flashbacks, recalls how he was given superhuman powers in a scientific experiment, wreaked assorted havoc, and was captured.

He is in the custody of an aristocratic woman, kept under control through the use of some kind of tiara-like device he is forced to wear.

The first episode ends on a cliffhanger of some sort, the last shot is of some sort green mucous-like substance swirling through space and engulfing the screen.

The plot is about a team of Alien soldiers who will be part of an invasion of Earth. They'd studied Earth's culture for some time (Mostly in the form of various pulp Sci-Fi mags) and concluded from the various "Bold daring human kills various space monsters to save helpless damsel" stories that Humans will be extremely violent and intolerant towards any extraterrestrial entity. So they land on Earth, only to be welcomed with celebration and open arms. They get drawn into the party, a lot of them get drunk, some get hit by cars, and we get a closing monologue from the Team's leader are he lays passed out in a gutter.

Judging from the visual quality it was probably made in the 60s or 70s.

I registered to give you this answer. What you're looking for is the Concrete Mixer, but it was an episode of Ray Bradbury Theater not a movie.

Once I was in a hotel, waiting for my family to finish getting packed, and was watching some movie on basic cable. I only saw about half of it, and can't for the life of me find what it was. The plot revolved around a group of US and Soviet fighter pilots who stage an operation together out of Israel (I think), I believe against a rogue nation with nukes. One of the Soviet pilots is a woman. Any help, fora?

It was a kids series I watched as a kid. I don't know the original english title since it was translated, but the direct translation to english was "Fruits". The heroine was a little girl, while the others were fruits. There was a banana, a cherry, a strawberry, etc. It's been bugging me for months. :)

there was a time when there was a private investigator show fad.

im thinking of 2 shows.
one upon looking at this website one of them is called eyes. It wasn't that hard to confirm because i remember eye being in the name.

I am thinking of another and cant remember the name or anything about it really except that that 'one way or another' song was the theme. does anyone remember that?

Okay, long stretch: 1994 comedy/psych thriller/total mind screw Hong Kong movie. I missed the beginning, so I never got a title.

Protagonist named after famous singer Alan Tam Wing-Lun. He (movie character, not singer) gets out of an asylum and gets a prescription. Goes home, takes pills, messes with a weird clock, reads a book about time-travel. He falls asleep and ends up traveling back in time to 1984, where nobody can see/hear/touch him. Meets a girl named Dolphin, realizes she's the only one that can hear him and they decide to modify his past/future. He eventually realizes the clock triggers the time travel and uses it to go to/from 1994 and 1984. Dolphin's sister, Whale (lol) ends up missing, people suspect Whale's creepy fiance. Alan and Dolphin play detective, realize Creepy Fiance is a psychotic cannibal, and killed/ate(?) Whale. I don't remember much here, but it involves a crapload of mind screw, chase scenes, and creepiness, which somehow led to random kissing. Eventually Alan goes back to the asylum and asks a doctor about time-travel. Turns out he'd been screwing up his prescription and the time-travel was all drugtrip-induced. Alan goes back to his apartment and runs into a girl that looks like an older version of Dolphin. Turns out her name is Shark, she never had a sister, and none of that crazy stuff ever happened. They get married and live happily ever after.

So... yeah. Anyone have any clue what the movie title is?
....It made more sense in my head.

I'm trying to remember a movie. It was kind of similar to Waterworld, minus the water. It was a post-apocalyptic world, and I only remember one scene, which may have been near the beginning. There were these people racing or fighting or something in these rusted out cars. Thats all I remember, sorry nothing more concrete. It was live action, and I think it may have been from the eighties or nineties.

Ok guys, I'm 15 currently and theirs this one movie thats been bugging me for the last couple of years.
I was between 6-9 when I watched it and it was recorded onto a VHS so it wasn't the whole movie.
Stupid parents taped over it so have not seen it since.
It was a sort of dark-ish movie, with real people in it and it must've been maybe around the PG, M15+ range rating?

It started off with a young boy trying to prove himself to a gang, so he goes into a big storm drain with said gang. In order to prove himself he has to cross a large (don't know how exactly to describe it) gap in the drain where water runs through to get to the other side and sign his name on the wall. While the boy is crossing, however, water comes gushing out of the pipe and washes him off the plank he's using to cross the gap.

He wakes up in a fantasy world and somehow meets up with some Kangaroos or animals like kangaroos (they definitely had tails) with powers of the Chinese Elements (Wind, Water, Fire, Wood and Metal) and theirs a scene with a big tree. The bad guys name is something like Aardvark or Armadillo (I think). Their was a princess and she was somehow a bad guy? Or trapped by Armadillo/Aardvark and used to spy on the boy? Something like that.

Please, please help.
Ive tried Yahoo answers, IMDB searches, Google searches all with luck :(

Ok, this is what I think is a fake movie trailer, but it was pretty long (10 minutes or so maybe?), so it could have been a short film. It was on youtube, and I'm pretty sure it was a featured video at some point.

It was about a little suburban boy who was on some kind of medication and for some reason he decided to stop taking it. He then decided to take over the world and ended up poisioning all of the adults at a birthday party, and at the end, he and a bunch of other kids sort of band together like a tribe and go off to recruit other kids or something. The whole thing is narrated by a man with a deep voice and it is very dramatic.

I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called but it was pretty cool.

I had to register just on the off-chance you kids knew what I was talking about.

Years and years and years ago, when I was a wee lass, my mother bought us this VHS tape that had a random collection of cartoons on it. Most of them had sing-along songs with the little bouncing ball (remember those? Follow the bouncing ball!). I remember two of the songs, which were: Shine On Harvest Moon, and Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag. On the tape was also a cartoon featuring a version of Cinderella involving little bugs or something. Does anyone have any idea about this collection? I've not been able to find anything about it, and am afraid it's much too old and obscure. Thanks!

As we have no idea how old you are, this means this video could have been produced (assuming you are above the age of 13 and were at least 5) between 2001 and 1975ish, which was when the VHS format was released to the public. Even assuming a more realistic 1980, that's still a 21 year gap.

Can you be a little more specific as to the year? I mean, something within 5 years or so would be nice, if you cannot recall an exact year.

Yeah, that would be vital information...
I'm 28. I have no idea how old I was when she gave us the video. Maybe 8? I have no friggin' clue.

Mid to late 80s then. Sing-along-songs and Cinderella. The more I think about it, the more it sounds like a repackage of some of the Fleisher Studios stuff, a lot of which is in Public Domain. It may be worth your time to dig through the cartoon section of Archive.Org

If it is, in fact, one of those deals, finding the name of the tape itself may not do you any good, as it may be named something like "Classic Cartoons #28" and be from a company that no longer exists. Anyway, I'll keep digging around.

I am getting back into things I watched about two decades ago, and I found out the name of one of my favourite shows in elementary school, Starship Sagittarius (宇宙船サジタリウス). Now I have always vaguely remembered this episode of some show where they land in an ersatz Korea planet and the spaceship happens to land on the line between the two ersatz Koreas. And high jinx ensue. Is that really an episode of Starship Sagittarius? And there was also an episode I remember more vaguely, where there was a culture that sent their elderly to a volcano. Was that also an episode of that show?

Ok this is obscure.
There was an episode of looney tunes or something of that ilk with either Tasmanian Devil or his younger counterpart Dizzy Devil. They made their own animated short films in some kind of clip show with other looney tunes characters and I remember seeing Taz (i.e. drawn by himself very child-like) as a series of animated scribbles, it was a crazy 1 minute short film with the voice over of Taz going "Blah blah rasp!"

I thought I had found it with Tiny Toons Ep 36: Animaniacs, where Dizzy made a cartoon called Dizzy Eat World, but that wasn't it. :(

Please help me find this again!

I saw this in the movie rental shop and wanted to look it up to see if it was any good, and now can't find it anywhere, so this is what I remember from the blurb:

I think it was called, 'Dinner for Three.' Obviously, no results on google from this. It was about a man who makes friends with what seem like the perfect couple and seem to somehow end up as his room-mates (possibly how he met them). He is their third wheel for a bit then falls for this other girl (want to say her name is Emily or Erica but I'm not sure), but the couple seem to start sabotaging him because they realise that their relationship is dysfunctional and doesn't work without him. I think the tagline was something about the perfect couple not being so perfect.

I've underlined the phrases I think were in the blurb.

Any help would be appreciated, this is so weird and I don't know when I'll next get a chance to go back to the store.

Does anybody know the name of the movie where they can't get the animals wet?

This is all I know.

Depending on whether you mean animals in general, or a specific creature, possibly Gremlins?
