Well, I was joking.

I don't think a sequel would make the cut. It feels like there is nothing* that can compare to the sheer beauty of this.

Oh yes, there's Commentary! The Musical! and ELE application videos, at least. That made resistance especially hard. However, the thing is wrapped and under the tree now--I'm twitchy, but safe.

well i've watched the musical commentary which was awesome!
except indians are asian too... (not american indians but 'real' ones. anyways)
i think nathan stole the musical commentary with his neil hatred.

and i saw the ele applications. I was surprised that i hadn't seen any of those before except for the one about felicia day. i think i'm most afraid of the duchess of defeet because that is a daily problem with me...

**edit: i watched regular commentary and thats my favorite part so far.

I've figured out all but whatever is on the back of the DVD box.

I really enjoyed the musical commentary, and I'm hoping they release it on iTunes or something like that.

Has this been mentioned on here?
Spoiler:
Image although, I don't know anything about the movie it's actually for...

Even tho' I'm still mad at her because she didn't make an ELE aplication video after I bought her a costume and helped her construct a super villain persona.

Commentary! was pretty decent. It's funny what a distinct sound/style musicals have.

Words cannot describe how much I love Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Fantastic singing (especially from NPH), excellent (if tragic) deconstruction of Superman, and the ending, while standard Joss fare, is VERY unique among similarly-themed movies. Who else would have the balls to mentally break someone played by Neil Patrick Harris?

The only bad part is that now I'm hesitant to watch Firefly because I'm afraid I won't be able to take Mr. Fillion seriously, despite many reviews stating how awesome the show is.

There are disturbing undertones if you watch Dr. Horrible, and then watch the concert version of Sweeney Todd, where NPH plays Toby.

That's ok, you don't need to take Nathan Fillion seriously to enjoy firefly. He can be funny and badass at the same time.

See: Jaynestown. The funniness is what makes the show awesome. Watch it. Also, NPH is a pretty good actor; I am surprised this is his most serious role so far (ignoring Sweeny Todd; I didn't even notice him in that movie).

Here's the explanation from TV Tropes: Superman/Captain Hammer... has never felt pain or fear, and he is basically spoiled by the universe. He's not going to be a good person, he's going to be a pathetic jerk... who upholds the status quo because it's easy and people love him for it. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor/Dr.Horrible have nothing but their brains and money.... They have to be a strong person with real goals and ability because they have to change the world with nothing to go on but what they make for themselves. Basically, only in comic book land is Lex Luthor evil and Superman good; in the real world, or in Dr. Horrible, the roles are reversed, and Dr. Horrible is a villain, and evil, but is not a "bad guy".

Full explanation is here, a little more than halfway down the page.

I really liked this analogy on the site provided above.

Billy's plan was the same as the one Angel revealed the end of the fifth season.

He doesn't really want to be a supervillain. That's just a means to an end: joining the Evil League of Evil so that he can find out their secret identities and assassinate all of them ("cut off the head"). At the beginning, he doesn't really hate Captain Hammer, he just thinks he's misguided, which is why he's always looking for non-fatal ways to defeat him. His blog is not 100% truthful, as he started it in order to fool Bad Horse. This explains the contradictions in his ideology—he keeps tacking on references to his own personal ambition, when really he just wants to help the world. He's cagey with Penny because he suspects her of being a Bad Horse spy.
Now, whether he'll carry out the plan is anybody's guess.

Tiny thing, but I noticed in the soup kitchen scene when Penny is singing her first bit of On The Rise, the soup kitchen guy in the background is not pouring soup in the bowls at all but staring ahead like a zombie and pouring it back into the pot. How odd. I wonder if it's just for the lulz, or meant to be a commentary? It seems out of place for a soup kitchen and Penny's universe; then again I suppose it could be a comment on the state of affairs and no-one really caring.

Anyhoo.

Another small, unimportant thing but one I've been wondering about: at first I thought it was totally innocious that Captain Hammer shows up at the laundromat to meet Billy. Then I thought back to Dr Horribly saying that apparently Captain Hammer watches the blog; and he divulged how the heist was successful in obtaining the wonderflonium, but not so because he inadvertantly introduced Captain Hammer to the girl of this dreams. Did Captain Hammer, upon hearing Penny talk about her buddy Billy, realise they may be the same person? That would account for Captain Hammer knowing Billy has a little crush on her, as he says at the laundromat, and the speach he gives about taking Penny back to his because he gets what Dr Horrible wants.

You are correct, he is aware that Billy is Dr. Horrible before he enters the laundromat.
