Psych (comes with bonus xkcd reference!)

Postby Eireann » Fri Feb 27, 2009 7:30 am UTC

Did anyone else notice that? It was in an episode a few weeks ago, I think the one about football, and Shawn says "I plead the 3rd" "You mean the fifth?" "No, the third" "You refuse to quarter troops in your home?" "I've heard it both ways." xkcd reference you think? http://xkcd.com/496/

Seems like a bit of a stretch; the whole thing is actually a recurring joke: Shawn says something not-quite-right, Gus corrects him, and Shawn responds with, "I've heard it both ways." However, the guy who wrote that episode is a pretty big nerd, so I wouldn't rule it out.

This is in my opinion the 2nd funniest show on tv right now just slightly behind 30 rock.

It took me until after the themed theme song to realise that.

The Sawmill Diner-sign had a saw blade that triggered a flash back to the Twin Peaks intro, which brought up some vague memory of a mention of a Twin Peaks themed psych episode.

Haha, the SBPD logo in the dream sequence was the squirrelassassins.com anti-squirrel sign.

Now...

Is it just me or does the man in this picture look strangely like Lassiter?

Spoiler:

Significantly less weird than I used to be. Still pretty weird.

The website is hinted in one episode around where his burning hatred of squirrels is revealed.

So what was going on with Lassiter on the season finale tonight? Did he...

Spoiler:
realize he was a robot and needed a love interest? The music seemed to hint at something more sinister, but I may have missed the two or three references I think the audience was supposed to make there at the end.

If you mean the very last minute before the credits, I'm pretty sure that
Spoiler:
up to that moment Lassiter had no idea Shawn and Juliet were dating. I think they were trying to end on a light note, but after all the serious drama of the episode it wasn't terribly clear.

I think he meant
Spoiler:
when Lassiter was going down the stairs, he stops for no particular reason and music starts playing
