Flight of the Conchords

Are awesome. Their new TV series starts in the states in just a week apparently.

Personally I particuarly like it because I think it's the only time on American TV with New Zealanders actually acting as New Zealanders :) Usually people like Karl Urban have to put on US accents...

But it's also really funny. You can check out the pilot http://www.hbo.com/conchords/ all nice and legal-like.

(Slightly O/T: has anybody seen Land of the Dead? Was anybody elsed bugged that the "Samoan" guy didn't actually look or sound particularly Samoan?)

I saw a commercial for it today. Looks pretty "radical" as the young'ns would say.
This is the end of the post.

I'll watch at least the first episode because it's adjacent to Entourage.

I love the Conchords. All summer, as I was painting the house, I would listen to their show on the radio. And Bret was awesome as Figwit in LOTR. The singing-humour is the best type, IMO.
Anyone listen regularly? Got a favourite song? Mine would have to be the rap battle between the hiphopapotomus and the rymenocerous.

I'm quite fond of the issues song, Think About It, Think Think About It. "I mean, how small are they gonna get?" "Too small, too small..."

Also "the Most Beautiful Girl in the Whole... Room" is pretty good.

They're funniest when they pretend to be serious doing some ridiculous thing and less funny when they try to be outwardly clever.

"Think About It", "Albi the Racist Dragon" and "The Humans Are Dead" are my favorite songs of theirs.

Search for it on youtube. The HBO One Night Stand live show was the one that got them big in the US. There was loads of stuff they did before that though, and most of it's good, but there's a little bit of pretty meh stuff.

I missed them live once. They were doing a show within walking distance of my house, the ticket would have been free, and they were performing with Bic Ringa. Why didn't I go? I can't believe I missed out on that.

My new favourite is "If you're into it". They're freaking geniuses.

I love Business Time, but Rain Ballad and Part-Time Model are also up there.

I just found them like, four days ago...

Anyways, "if you're into it" consistently cracks me up, and "business time" is up there too.

"You say you want more... Well, I'm not surprised."

They're just so witty, clever and satirical about how they write music. It's brilliant
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff.
