Oh, so this is Canada's fault, eh?

In other news, I just read this entire thread cuz I had nothing better to do. (When I noticed it before I hadn't seen any Avatar yet and then I didn't want to read it until I was all caught up.)

Belial, I so knew you'd wanna be a firebender. Hehe. I love me some firebending too, but I think I'd be a waterbender. More in my overall nature.

I hadn't realized (i.e. paid attention) to the fact that Dante Basco does Zuko's voice. Ha! That's awesome and I can definitely hear it now that I know. Rufio, Rufio, Rufio!

I want to watch it all over again (especially since it seems the rest of the episodes are never bloody gonna air), preferably with some friends who've never seen it, but I don't know if any of them would be into it. :?

I really love everything about this show.

I heard Avatar is supporting the writer's strike by not writing any new episodes. Or something like that. Even though I don't think any animated shows are actually part of the writer's strike.

I really, really, really hope that's not the case though. I miss my Gossip Girl. And my Avatar. :(

I'm guessing that to maintain the symetry of the show, with only three seasons, the 21st episode of season three will be Book 4: Air in it's entirety, which will be an epilogue, detailing, among other things, the resurgence of the Air Nomads
I already have a hate thread. Necromancy > redundancy here, so post there.

As far as I am aware the producers have said there will be no Book 4 whatsoever.

I don't think there really needs to be a 4th book. ~8.54 sode (I mean Book 3, Chapter 14), on the other hand, needs to hurry up and be released! I mean it's been, what? a month since 3.13?

It's pretty sad that for a show that's been so well thought out and so well made and so well based around having four elements set in the balance that one element gets ignored.

Not saying it's stupid, because I guess this is how television and funding works, but it is sad.

What reason would there be to have a fourth book? Each book corresponds to the element that he masters in that book. He had already mastered Air at the show start, so would not need a book to master it.

Now, as for post-fire lord defeat, I think one episode would be enough for that. Maybe a lengthier special episode.

Yeah, it's not that they're being cancelled, or can't get the moeny, just that this is kind of the climax to the story so a continuation would be unneccessary.

What I meant was they could have planned it so it did climax in the fourth season. A whole season of epilogue would be horrible, but a season of learning fire and then a season of epic battling/rallying the troops/recapturing Ba Sing Se could have worked.

Not really. Ever since the middle of the first season, a fourth season was impractical. Because each season is actually a season. Season 1 was winter, Season 2 was spring, and season 3 is summer. And, as Roku said, Sozen's comet comes at the end of summer. Which means the end of season 3 pretty much has to be the end of the main conflict of the series. I don't think they ever planned more.

To be honest, I think that even with three seasons there was a lot of dragging things out at the start of this season in order to make it last a full 24 episodes. Adding another season on top of that would have either meant revising the progress of the story, or just dragging things out even more.

Weren't seasons 1 and 2 just 20 episodes each? That said, if season 3 is only 20 episodes, that would only strengthen your argument.

Yeah, but episodes like "The Headband" and "The Runaway" felt really, really out of place with the urgent pace of Season 3, and really were just there to be filler, it seems like.

You have a point, but the main reason it seems that most people watch avatar is not for the cheesy morals, but for the EPIC BENDING BATTLES.

And I need more of that. Much more.

Agreed, which is another reason filler is so annoying. Lacking, as it is, in epic battling.

The siege of the water tribe is still my favourite epic battle.
