Next.

I hate Nicholas Cage and I had incredibly low expectations for this movie. The only reason I went is because some friends were also going. It turned out to be just bad enough to laugh at. Seriously, it's so stupid. I had a lot of fun (not so much the people around us, since we were constantly making fun of it).

Can't say I love it, but I am always surprised by how much I like Blast from the Past. I do wish they had cast a different female lead.

I liked NEXT too... although I like most Nicolas Cage films.

I think if there were an actor to win the category of starring in bad movies you love, he'd have it by a light year.

The Fifth Element, which everyone tells me is a terrible movie, but which I find really fun.

The Classic "so bad it's good movie": Plan 9 from Outer Space!

Flying saucers on strings, policemen scratching their heads with loaded revolvers, a plot that makes no sense. Perfect.

It's more that a number of my friends continually insist that this is a terrible movie and ask me why the hell I'd want to watch it.

My answer is that it's awesome.

My REAL friends watch Godzilla: Final Wars with me, which really IS a terrible movie but HILARIOUS at the same time.

awesomeness. I found it on dvd and got it for my dad a while back. Along the same lines (80's cartoon movies) I really dig Starchaser: the Legend of Orin and Rock'n'Rule.

more horrible movies I love:

Riki-oh
The White Dragon
Run Ronnie Run
Moon Child (if I get to stare at Gackt and Hyde for a couple hours, I'm happy for a couple of hours no matter HOW bad the movie is.)

Another vote for the fifth element here. It's a movie that really doesn't take itself seriously, and everything gives me the impression they must have had lots of fun writing and shooting this.

Also, any other MST3K fans out here? Joel, Mike & crew made lots of really bad movies quite a bit more entertaining (or even watchable). They introduced me to the so bad they're funny movies: Manos - the hands of fate, Hobgoblins, Future War, etc.
