That song that's stuck in your head right now...

Postby __Kit » Thu Aug 23, 2007 5:50 am UTC

I was thinking about making this thread...
Today on the radio it said that the top three songs that are most likely to get stuck in your head are, "Who let the dogs out", (I originally wrote that as gods - that's awesome, Who let the gods out? haha) "YMCA" and "Baby got back".

I am not sure if sharing the song with others relieves you of it or simply shares the disease around, it may do both!

Either way, what's that song that's stuck in you head right now?

(My current is "Suicidal" by Sean Kingston, I hat that song so much, gah!)

Currently, it's the plasma pong music. But usually, it's either "The Saga Begins," By Weird Al, or "Mexican Wine," By fountains of wayne.

I like Weird Al, but FOW drives me insane after a little bit.
Go, said the bird, for the leaves were full of children,
Hidden excitedly, containing laughter.
Go, go, go, said the bird: human kind
Cannot bear very much reality.

"A Quest for the Crown" by Falconer, because I just finished listening to it.
So, I got tired of the fact that the appearance of my band name in my signature made my posts on this forum the dominant result when googling for my music. Anyway, if you think I might happen to be a good musician, you can test this theory here.

Also, I keep singing this little tune in my head, I think it is a misheard lyric, but in my head it goes "and I believe that the light that shines on you, (may) shine(s) on the rest of the wooorld, girrrl" its quite a pretty song in my head, but that's the only bit I can remember. :(

"Back In Your Head" by Tegan and Sara is my current earworm.

I like the entirety of the piano part in that song. The out-of-tune-ness makes it sound mournful, especially in the breakdown section where it's played in intervals.

"And the devil in black dress watches over
My guardian angel walks away
Life is short and love is always over in the morning
Black wind come carry me far away

With the fire from the fireworks up above
With a gun for a lover and a shot for the pain

You run for cover in the temple of love
I shine like thunder cry like rain
And the temple grows old and strong
But the wind blows longer cold and long
And the temple of love will fall before
This black wind calls my name to you no more"

Oh. Thanks. Because it wasn't bad enough that that song was stuck in my head through THE ENTIRETY OF HIGH SCHOOL. Now it's back.

"In the black sky, thunder,
Sweeping underground and over water
Sounds of crying, weeping, will not save
Your faith from bricks and dreams from mortar
All your prayers must be as nothing
Ninety-six below the waves
When stone is dust and air remains
The only haven you can trust

And the devil in a black dress watches over
My guardian angel walks away
Life is short and love is always over in the morning
Black wind come carry me far away"

"I'm coming out of my cage
And I've been doing just fine
Gotta gotta be down
Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss
Now I'm falling asleep
And she's calling a cab
While he's having a smoke
And she's taking a drag
Now they're going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it's all in my head
But she's touching his chest
Now, he takes off her dress
Now, letting me go"

That last line always sends chills up my spine...

For about two months when I was 15: Einstein On The Beach by Counting Crows. Didn't even know they ripped the name off a Philip Glass song.
