What are you listening to?

It's only cool if no one's heard of it.

Also, this is almost better to watch than hear (but you gotta hear it, too): Caravan Palace - Rock It For Me

Kate Rusby - Here We Come a Wassailing

As it turns out, it's the only song off of her Sweet Bells album - or, for that matter, any of the rest of what I've checked out on youtube - that I particularly like, but I do really really like this one.

Hamilton, the songs in random order (tm).

I've been listening to Ghost quite a lot recently. It's pretty good stuff. I also can't help but be amused by what amounts to pop music about Satan.

At the very moment, Dubmood - Keygen 8.
Tracker music is so full of warm bass and upbeat melodies, and a hint of nostalgia... to that first time cracking a game. :P

At this second, "The Boondocks" by Little Big Town. It's some really nice, mellow kinda-country music. Good feel good, upbeat music.

I was going to link Savant, who has some nice tracks, but while typing I switched back to Carpenter Brut - TURBO KILLER.

Cirith Ungol - Fire

Decided today to listen to Cirith Ungol for the first time. (I mean, such an awesome name for a metal band, I've known for years that I should one day to check what they were like.) Oh boy I was surprised to hear this cover. It's both awesome, and tremendously funny. I sort of like the Arthur Brown's original, but never realized it could be made ... so metal. On the other hand, listening to this I see Brown's flame crown thing and weird dancing act ... and can't stop laughing.

It's a pity his voice is so trebblish; Rammstein or similar should have a go at it too. :P (or rather not Rammstein, their pacing is too slow)

And now for something completely different: Зоригоо -Цаст Цагаан Хархираа electro* mongol throat singing.

*or whatever you call the trance/electro house/edm that was popular back 'round 2000.

An artist I found via an old single in a record shop. Really strange to listen to music and have absolutely no clue what the songs are about, but I kind of like the experience. English is overrepresented in music anyway.

I'm currently being blown away by these guys. I was first linked to Niechęć on r/listentothis or a similar site, a song on their current album called Metanol (Youtube link).

It's Polish, and jazz, and moderately freaky. It's just that bit far enough ahead of the things my friends and I can do that it's totally fascinating to me. ("Oh man, I hadn't thought of trying that. OH GOD I ENVY THEIR ABILITY TO COUNT. Hey, that part kills! So does that part!" etc.)

Pumarosa - Honey; a line in the chorus is taken almost straight out of Adam Curtis's Bitter Lake.

The lyric video gives me some impression that they may have misunderstood his unusual use of footage and the point he achieves in his documentaries with it. But it may not have been up to them. Catchy song at least. I've been listening to it nearly every day since I went to Europe in early October.

RIP Greg Lake. And I had forgotten, but Keith Emerson died this year as well (back in March - suicide, unfortunately). Carl Palmer's still around, though.

Currently, The Jam - Town Called Malice. I need to look into more Paul Weller.

I've just cued up "Awaken, My Love!", Childish Gambino's new album. It would have flown completely under my radar if it weren't for friends saying "no, here, listen to this" and I'm very glad of the fact that they did.

Some Jethro Tull albums I've never heard before. I occasionally do this to discover new stuff.

Витас - 7 элемент, solid beat, nice pad(?) synths, vocals that aren't in the way (because I don't understand shit :P)

I recall discovering Vitas a couple of years ago (most definitely Opera 2 with its video clip), but today it was a welcome surprise by youtube's "related" algorithm. (so if you're an avid fan of remix stuff like patty circulation and osmium alloy bomb, he might show up)

I like the performance at BBB (first link) a lot better despite the worse recording quality, because they added a lot of guitar time. :D
