Yesterday I listened to an astonishingly mediocre version of "Sail me to the moon" while sitting in some building in Navy Pier, where I was sitting because I was trying to find a place to go ice skating in Chicago with my brother and friend, and he (my brother) thought (incorrectly) that there would be one up at the Pier. The one in Millenium Park had a 3-hour wait. Supposedly there's one in Hyde Park, but we didn't know where exactly. At this point I'm just listing this info on the off chance that anyone here needs advice on the Chicago holiday ice-rink scene. I didn't bring any CDs back here with me from Teh Valley because I travel absolutely as lightly as possible, so I haven't listened to much music during my time here.
One of these days my desk is going to collapse in the middle and all its weight will come down on my knee and tear my new fake ACL. It could be tomorrow. This is my concern.

Devil's Dance Floor - Flogging Molly

Oh, Aldimond, thanks for the Chicago ice-skating tip. I'll keep in mind not to go out there for ice-skating... Michigan Ave, however, I am more than willing to brave the crowds for. :D

Ashley McIsaac - Sleepy Maggie

What an incredibly not sleepy tune...perfect to help me relax and go to bed...

thefiddler, do you actually play? I took lessons for three years, but never practiced, so I suck, though I do love the instrument...

That's ok, go to their website and download 'little by little' (the album). they have made it freely available because they're cool.

I was heartbroken the day I found out it was the name of the whole band and not just one awesome guy who had an unimportant band backing him up.

The Good Times are Killing Me - Modest Mouse

And, yes, Lani, I do play the violin / fiddle. Whichever you want to call it. I've been taking lessons for the past 8 years, although I recently quit taking lessons... I still play, however, and love it. Maybe you should pick it back up, sometime. :)

David Bowie - 5 years
Lots of memories for this song - we used it as the closing number for the play Big Love I worked on my senior year of college...what a great song...

And the fiddler - I pick it up every now and then and noodle around with it. Not as often as I'd like, but that's because I'm involved in too many damn projects. :)

Understandable. I don't practice nearly enough as it is... but maybe that's because I'm filling out scholarship apps. :) Yay, college.

Isn't Illinois a state and also part of the title of the album containing "Chicago", which is conveniently located in Illinois?
