It's only cool if no one's heard of it.

Off the top of my head, Sonic Youth has three vocalists, one of them is female. Are you talking about at the same time, or just bands in general that just have some songs by guys and some by girls? Daydream Nation or Dirty (or Goo) would be good starters, their other albums aren't as appealing to most people. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for but Broken Social Scene have male and female vocals, although they're more instrumental indie pop though. I can't think of any pop-punk bands with male and female vocals though. Spiderbait (Aussie rock from 90s/00s) have some songs with female vocals. Uhh.... I have to look through my library. Again, Blonde Redhead's self-titled album is awesome (Astro Boy, I Don't Want U etc.), it's just magic, but again I'm not sure if it fits in with what you're looking for. Yeah, sorry, somebody else will probably be able to recommend something better.

I like that song, although I do quite like most of AAR's stuff as well.

Make You Smile by Plus-44 is another that springs to mind. IMO the male-female duet is a great thing that sadly isn't done often enough these days (or done well often enough, anyway).

NINJA'D: Yes, Spiderbait is another good example.

Maximum the Hormone has 3 vocalists. Two guys and a girl. They're J-rock though.

The Sugarcubes. Personally, I tend to agree with those who say Einar Örn is way too annoying to be endured for long periods of time, but, man, Björk! Now there's a singerine you can't ever go wrong with.

@simbera: oh yea! +44 ! i completely forgot about them, it was a while since i listened to them.

I have no idea about the other bands, as i tend to semi indie punk, thanks to what.cd. ... anyone heard of neverstore they had a pew songs that appealed to me? Ill check the reccommendations out....

the way the vocals weave through weach other is magical, the few songs suggested that i did not kno lacked this weave thru.

Tsunami Bomb has a female singer and the male singer also pops in every now and again.
I recommend them to everyone.

Another one I thought of is this remixed version of Take My Hand by The Cab, which features Cassadee from Hey Monday doing the chorus. It's not on their album but it was on the CitizensFOB Mixtape (part of Fall Out Boy's viral campaign for their latest album) which should be easy to find online (the keyword CitizensForOurBenefit will probably come in handy there)

If you want to go a bit further back, and broaden your horizon a bit, a few bands that are now considered "Classic Rock" or "Oldies" have/had a lot of male/female shared vocals, including The Mamas and The Papas, Peter, Paul, and Mary, and a few others.

Probably two of the best songs from the 1970s featuring both male and female vocals would have to be Meat Loaf's "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" and The Mamas and The Papas' "Creeque Alley."

The Decemberists have a male and female singer. Albeit, they're more "indie folk/rock/pop" than punk or straight up rock, but maybe you'd like this song. The female singer's part comes in at like ~1:40.

Most of these fall under "Punk" or even more-so, "What is that awful noise I am listening to?":

Nausea
some Aus Rotten albums (specifically The Rotten Agenda)
Despise You
Crass
Skarp
Iskra
Spoonful of Vicodin
Shadow Project

The following are more "Listenable" bands:
Swans (later albums only, listen to White Light from the Mouth of Infinity)
Nature and Organization (Beauty Reaps the Blood of Solitude is one of the most beautiful neo-folk albums of all time)

Wait, what? You should be able to find it either on the original website (it was available officially for free, and a google search should be able to get you that) or in some kind of torrent.

Defiance, Ohio has multiple vocalists, two (or three) male and one female. They're folk punk, but awesome. I find The Great Depression to be their most accessible album.
Bridge & Tunnel has two girls and one guy for vocalists, and they're also pretty awesome. Check out East/West, I've been listening to it constantly.
Good Luck released a pretty acclaimed record, Into Lake Griffy, last year, and they've got two very unique vocalists, one male and one female.

The group Anniversary has male/female vocals. At work, so I can't go looking for many useful links. Peace, Pain, and Regret is my favorite from them.

Lacuna Coil is a hard rock/metal band from Italy. They sing predominately in English. There are videos on YouTube.

ooooh, songs, not artists. Still, fleetwood mac is a decent choice.

Mark Knopfler(the guy from Dire Straits) and Emmylou Harris have a duo album out
Alison Krauss and Robert Plant recently did something similar as well

Other songs off the top of my head:

Say Anything -- Church Channel (chick from Paramore)
Ryan Adams -- Sweet Carolina (Emmylou Harris again!)
Human Leage -- Don't You Want Me

Thanks for mentioning Defiance, Ohio and Tsunami Bomb. I'm really liking both of them, TB in particular.

I'd recommend the Hush Sound, especially their two first albums.
Example songs: Wine Red, Don't Wake Me Up, Echo.

Lydia has a great male/female dynamic going on.
Listen to "Laugh Before You Grin", that's my favorite cut.

Owl City's "Saltwater Room" has a cool back and forth in it, although it is more electro poppy.

Stars has been mentioned, but most of their stuff has great back and forths so mentioning again.
"Personal" strikes me first when I think of that.

I just found a ridiculously awesome song that uses a bunch of male/female call and response and harmonies and such fun stuff.
