I just saw Streetlight in Cleveland last night. It was fanfuckingtastic. The opening bands were fairly meh, but the one got the crowd moshing like crazy, which carried over mostly into pushing towards the front once Streetlight finally came out. Being in the 2nd row from the front was awesome as hell though, except for the guy next to me who took his shirt off and was the sweatiest person ever. But it was so hot in there that the place was steamy and hot and I nearly died and then had to walk a mile back to my car. But it was 100% worth it. The best club-concert I've ever been to for sure.

Last for me was The Pretty Reckless at Shepherds Bush Empire. That was a kinda weird gig - despite it actually being a pretty heavy band (Taylor Momsen is obviously trying really, really hard to be 'rock' rather than 'pop'), predictably, the demographic of the audience was predominantly young and female - it was, as the guy behind me remarked, either the hardest pop gig I've ever been to, or the lightest rock gig. The band was pretty good, though (could use some more imaginative songwriting in places) and the atmosphere was pretty cool. Before that, Jimmy Eat World was something of a disappointment - I don't know why, but there just wasn't any real excitement in the audience, it was just a bit flat in general most of the way through.

Next up is Maroon 5, on Friday - not my choice, and I have no idea what that's going to be like.

Some semi-local Big Bands did a Battle in Karlstad, Sweden today so I just had to go.

They played mostly modern-ish Jazz and soul. I almost expected to see Spike Spiegel run across the scene on several occasions.

It was awesome.

Last one: A jazz show. Was actually really awesome. When all the professors & special guests play in a small group, it's nothing short of fantastic. Reminds me why I like jazz.

Next: Mayhem Fest in august: Distubed, Godsmack, Megadeth, Trivium, Machine Head, In Flames, Unearth and a could others.

Unless I fall into some random money and get tickets for primus next month, which isn't too likely, or decide to catch a local band on the way home from work.

Last: Jim's Big Ego and MC Frontalot at Anime Boston this past weekend. It was a fun concert, but the acoustics weren't conducive to actually hearing the lyrics, which is a pretty limiting issue for both those artists. /:
Next: Coheed and Cambria

Looking forward to it. Haven't seen them live before, but I have high hopes.

Actually, on second look, tickets on Ticketmaster are only $30 (plus fees). Apparently the first link from their website is not the original vendor... Maybe I can go after all!

Last concert was a double bill with Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie (I may have posted about it, it's too late to remember). That was fantastic. The next will probably be Cake. But I'm wondering from anybody who's seen them, is it worth $40 to see them live, or are they a boring live show?

Last concert was Wynton Marsalis with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, next concert will be Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, hell yeah!

Last: Arcade Fire with Local Natives. Arcade Fire are the best band I have seen live, though the first show was a little better than this last one, I think.
Next: Any of these. Explosions in the Sky would be pretty cool, but I am for sure seeing the Decemberists. One of my favourite bands and I've not seen them yet.

So, Maroon 5 were pretty good. Tonight I saw a guitar duo (a Korean American girl and a guy from Texas) play in a bar here in Changwon, and they were amazing. They played a massive mixture of stuff, including some Rodrigo y Gabriela covers (Diablo Rojo and Tamacun), and they were so good - the whole bar was moving and the atmosphere was awesome.

Next thing planned atm is Linkin Park at the Seoul Gymnasium. I'm stoked for that.
